[0:00:00 – 0:00:02] Erik: so so
[0:00:39 – 0:00:45] Adam: Welcome to 2024 coverage of the prestigious Coglins Cup.
[0:00:45 – 0:00:51] Adam: My name is Terry Davenport, coming to you live from the Studio V with my dear friend, Jim Sofa.
[0:00:51 – 0:00:52] Adam: Good evening, Jim.
[0:00:52 – 0:00:54] Erik: Hello, it’s a pleasure to be here.
[0:00:54 – 0:00:56] Erik: As always, magical time of year.
[0:00:57 – 0:00:59] Adam: It’s a magical time.
[0:01:00 – 0:01:02] Adam: Champions, champions will be…
[0:01:03 – 0:01:04] Erik: Crowned.
[0:01:04 – 0:01:04] Erik: Crowned.
[0:01:04 – 0:01:08] Erik: We got first round results coming at you hot and heavy.
[0:01:08 – 0:01:09] Erik: We have not seen them.
[0:01:10 – 0:01:12] Erik: Be getting them to you here shortly.
[0:01:14 – 0:01:15] Erik: The voters have spoken.
[0:01:16 – 0:01:18] Erik: Teams have moved on.
[0:01:19 – 0:01:21] Erik: We’ll be getting to all of that shortly.
[0:01:21 – 0:01:26] Erik: And also maybe some responses to question of the year.
[0:01:26 – 0:01:26] Erik: Where are you going?
[0:01:26 – 0:01:27] Erik: Where are you heading?
[0:01:28 – 0:01:31] Erik: Where are you dipping that bladed paddle?
[0:01:31 – 0:01:33] Erik: With a knife in it, maybe.
[0:01:33 – 0:01:35] Adam: They never used that knife blade, did they?
[0:01:35 – 0:01:37] Adam: No.
[0:01:38 – 0:01:44] Adam: Yeah, well, you don’t see a lot of those in the Boundary Waters because not a lot of people with an inflatable raft out there.
[0:01:44 – 0:01:45] Erik: No, no.
[0:01:45 – 0:01:47] Adam: Also, you’re not racing for your life.
[0:01:48 – 0:01:51] Erik: Well, nobody was really racing for their lives.
[0:01:51 – 0:01:56] Erik: They were just racing to have the opportunity to gain free degrees.
[0:01:56 – 0:01:57] Erik: Economics degrees.
[0:01:57 – 0:02:00] Erik: And loans erased.
[0:02:01 – 0:02:02] Adam: Sounds like America.
[0:02:02 – 0:02:02] Adam: Yeah.
[0:02:03 – 0:02:03] Adam: This is America.
[0:02:04 – 0:02:04] Erik: Pretty much.
[0:02:05 – 0:02:07] Adam: That’s what that Childish Gambino song was about, I’m pretty sure.
[0:02:08 – 0:02:09] Erik: Yeah, that’s right.
[0:02:09 – 0:02:14] Erik: If you look closely, you can see similarities to the 1984 classic, Up the River.
[0:02:15 – 0:02:16] Erik: Up the Creek.
[0:02:16 – 0:02:17] Erik: Up the Creek.
[0:02:18 – 0:02:19] Erik: Without a paddle.
[0:02:19 – 0:02:22] Erik: Without a paddle, up the creek, down the river.
[0:02:24 – 0:02:33] Erik: It’s basically like, I don’t know, poorly executed animal house in the woods.
[0:02:33 – 0:02:36] Adam: They have like a dollar store Belushi.
[0:02:36 – 0:02:43] Erik: Wow, there are two characters from Animal House that are fully blown, basically playing their same characters.
[0:02:43 – 0:02:45] Adam: They’re still trying to get that degree.
[0:02:45 – 0:02:47] Erik: Still trying to get that degree?
[0:02:47 – 0:02:51] Erik: Still just partying, and the dean cracks down on them?
[0:02:51 – 0:02:53] Erik: Yeah, TCC this week, we were talking about, what is it, Up the Creek?
[0:02:53 – 0:02:54] Adam: Up the Creek.
[0:02:55 – 0:02:57] Adam: It’s been on the whiteboard for a while now.
[0:02:57 – 0:02:58] Adam: Yeah.
[0:02:58 – 0:02:59] Erik: I had to subscribe to it.
[0:03:00 – 0:03:02] Erik: I had to get another one of those free week trials.
[0:03:02 – 0:03:03] Erik: No, you didn’t.
[0:03:03 – 0:03:05] Erik: For a $3 a month eventually.
[0:03:06 – 0:03:08] Adam: I could have sent you some links, Eric.
[0:03:08 – 0:03:10] Adam: I don’t want those links.
[0:03:10 – 0:03:11] Adam: You got a burner.
[0:03:12 – 0:03:14] Adam: I’ll send the links to your burner account next time.
[0:03:14 – 0:03:16] Erik: No, this was free.
[0:03:16 – 0:03:18] Erik: I just had to make sure I get right back on.
[0:03:18 – 0:03:19] Erik: Are you sure?
[0:03:19 – 0:03:21] Erik: You just signed up.
[0:03:21 – 0:03:23] Erik: I’m like, no, if I don’t cancel now, I’ll forget.
[0:03:23 – 0:03:24] Adam: You just wanted to watch Up the Creek.
[0:03:24 – 0:03:25] Erik: Yeah.
[0:03:25 – 0:03:35] Erik: I don’t know what else is on Cineplex or Cineminuteplex or whatever this weird add-on to YouTube was, but I signed up for a day.
[0:03:35 – 0:03:41] Adam: Do you have any miniature crossbows with explosive tips?
[0:03:41 – 0:03:53] Erik: Yeah, we’re going to get into all of the weaponry, all of the shenaniganery that goes into the booby trappings and the physics of literally blowing up a river.
[0:03:55 – 0:03:56] Adam: Yeah.
[0:03:56 – 0:03:58] Adam: They just blow those rafts back up after they explode.
[0:03:58 – 0:03:59] Adam: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[0:03:59 – 0:04:02] Erik: It seemed like those rafts were mostly shredded.
[0:04:02 – 0:04:05] Adam: They probably were using the Coghlan’s raft patching kit.
[0:04:05 – 0:04:07] Erik: Yeah, probably.
[0:04:07 – 0:04:08] Erik: $5.99.
[0:04:08 – 0:04:12] Erik: You never saw anybody sitting down going to work on patching one of those rafts.
[0:04:12 – 0:04:13] Adam: They just blow them back up.
[0:04:13 – 0:04:14] Adam: They’d get out the pump.
[0:04:15 – 0:04:15] Erik: Literally blown up.
[0:04:15 – 0:04:18] Adam: Have a couple more Manhattans.
[0:04:19 – 0:04:22] Adam: And maybe a stogie and then get out the pump and we’re good to go.
[0:04:22 – 0:04:30] Erik: Might be one of the most aggressive drinking and driving movies where it’s like that’s not the point of the movie.
[0:04:30 – 0:04:34] Erik: This isn’t like a leaving Las Vegas thing where it’s like, well, that’s the point of the movie.
[0:04:34 – 0:04:38] Erik: This is totally just a byproduct, but everybody’s drinking and driving.
[0:04:39 – 0:04:41] Erik: Even when it’s not even the point.
[0:04:41 – 0:04:44] Erik: They just pull up and there’s just a… Could have left that out.
[0:04:44 – 0:04:51] Erik: Like a plastic, one of those old plastic glasses that you would get at a wedding in the 90s with some white wine in it.
[0:04:51 – 0:04:56] Adam: Every time somebody opened the door to anything, beer cans fell out.
[0:04:56 – 0:04:56] Adam: Yes.
[0:04:57 – 0:04:57] Adam: 1984.
[0:04:57 – 0:05:00] Erik: Some light, light things I really liked.
[0:05:01 – 0:05:01] Erik: Not?
[0:05:01 – 0:05:02] Erik: I didn’t.
[0:05:02 – 0:05:03] Erik: We’ll get into it.
[0:05:03 – 0:05:04] Erik: This week’s TCC.
[0:05:04 – 0:05:05] Adam: Yeah, coming up tonight.
[0:05:06 – 0:05:07] Adam: It’s pretty exciting on the TCC.
[0:05:09 – 0:05:17] Adam: Tumble Home Sports Network Outdoor Calendar Fact of the Night for May 12, 2024.
[0:05:18 – 0:05:25] Adam: The Dua Lipa hit song, Pretty Please, was written about the Boundary Waters, Eric.
[0:05:25 – 0:05:26] Adam: The B-W-C-A-W…
[0:05:28 – 0:05:29] Adam: Put my mind at ease.
[0:05:30 – 0:05:30] Adam: Pretty please.
[0:05:31 – 0:05:35] Adam: Sunset’s at 7.59 p.m. Too late.
[0:05:35 – 0:05:36] Adam: Too long.
[0:05:37 – 0:05:37] Adam: I hate it.
[0:05:39 – 0:05:41] Adam: And then the KP is going to be right back up to a nine.
[0:05:41 – 0:05:42] Erik: Tonight again?
[0:05:43 – 0:05:45] Adam: Well, it’s still at like a seven and a half.
[0:05:45 – 0:05:46] Adam: I’ve never seen this in my life.
[0:05:47 – 0:05:48] Adam: For one, I’ve never seen a KP of nine.
[0:05:49 – 0:05:52] Erik: I’ve never seen such a disappointing KP of nine, if I’m honest.
[0:05:53 – 0:05:56] Adam: It was because we were getting the stuff they usually have at the North Pole itself.
[0:05:56 – 0:05:57] Erik: That’s what I’m saying.
[0:05:57 – 0:06:00] Erik: They spread all the butter down the end of the bread on us there.
[0:06:01 – 0:06:02] Erik: There was nothing to the north.
[0:06:02 – 0:06:04] Erik: It was straight up and to the south.
[0:06:04 – 0:06:04] Erik: Yeah.
[0:06:04 – 0:06:08] Adam: I was taking pictures facing dead south, and they were amazing.
[0:06:08 – 0:06:09] Erik: I mean, it was great.
[0:06:09 – 0:06:09] Erik: It was cool.
[0:06:10 – 0:06:17] Erik: I’m not complaining, but I’ve definitely seen better shows at lower KPs, like more intense movement, more intense streaks.
[0:06:17 – 0:06:20] Erik: This was just like the whole sky was just lit.
[0:06:20 – 0:06:20] Adam: Just lit.
[0:06:21 – 0:06:21] Erik: It was just bright.
[0:06:21 – 0:06:22] Adam: I was like, what is…
[0:06:22 – 0:06:26] Adam: I’ve never seen so much pink and purple just naked eye like that before.
[0:06:26 – 0:06:26] Adam: Yeah.
[0:06:26 – 0:06:27] Erik: It was great.
[0:06:27 – 0:06:27] Erik: I mean…
[0:06:27 – 0:06:28] Erik: Pretty wild.
[0:06:28 – 0:06:36] Erik: I think everybody at this point, due to the proximity of the timing, knows exactly what we’re talking about because you even sound like…
[0:06:37 – 0:06:46] Erik: It got memed already where it was just showing you scrolling through your friend’s pics from last night, and it was just all the same picture.
[0:06:46 – 0:06:52] Adam: If you didn’t post a picture of the Northern Lights to your social media, you’re canceled from social media forever.
[0:06:52 – 0:06:54] Erik: You’re just canceled from society.
[0:06:54 – 0:07:05] Adam: Yeah, you might as well go crawl off into a little raft and push yourself down the river with a couple different kinds of explosives and several bottles of booze.
[0:07:05 – 0:07:06] Adam: Are you even alive?
[0:07:06 – 0:07:18] Adam: I haven’t seen ever in my life a KP in nine, and it’s been 24 hours straight where the KP is above seven, which if the KP just went to seven on any other given night, I’d be, oh, boy, look at that.
[0:07:18 – 0:07:21] Adam: But, yeah, it’s just at a seven and a half right now.
[0:07:21 – 0:07:22] Erik: Barely.
[0:07:22 – 0:07:46] Adam: after being up at nine all night i’ve never seen a g5 extreme geomagnetic storm event either in my life there was some chatter on the uh starlink subreddit last night about how people were oh not outages the service was down i believe it and it was like yeah that’s the kind of storm man g5s can like disrupt the electrical all all grids not just electrical
[0:07:46 – 0:07:48] Erik: Oh, yeah.
[0:07:48 – 0:07:49] Adam: The whole world order could be disrupted.
[0:07:49 – 0:07:50] Erik: Could reset.
[0:07:50 – 0:07:51] Erik: Yeah.
[0:07:51 – 0:07:52] Erik: Station 11 style.
[0:07:52 – 0:07:52] Erik: Yeah.
[0:07:53 – 0:07:54] Erik: Where everybody survives.
[0:07:55 – 0:07:59] Erik: I’d prefer the Station 11 scenario where 99% of people die.
[0:08:00 – 0:08:06] Erik: I don’t want to live in a world where just the power just snaps out forever, but everybody’s still here.
[0:08:06 – 0:08:07] Erik: Right.
[0:08:07 – 0:08:08] Erik: There’s not enough resources.
[0:08:08 – 0:08:12] Erik: But if 99% of the planet dies, hey, we can all just kind of…
[0:08:12 – 0:08:13] Erik: Let’s take it easy.
[0:08:13 – 0:08:16] Adam: There’s a couple of us here in town left.
[0:08:17 – 0:08:18] Adam: Spread our elbows out a little bit.
[0:08:18 – 0:08:19] Erik: Yeah.
[0:08:19 – 0:08:20] Erik: Yeah.
[0:08:20 – 0:08:22] Erik: I finally kind of feel like I can take a deep breath in this town.
[0:08:22 – 0:08:23] Adam: Yeah.
[0:08:23 – 0:08:35] Erik: And I don’t have to worry about getting like, I mean, I’m sure eventually some like rogue, you know, Mad Max forms of bandit gangs will form.
[0:08:35 – 0:08:35] Erik: But.
[0:08:36 – 0:08:36] Erik: As they always do.
[0:08:37 – 0:08:37] Erik: For a while.
[0:08:37 – 0:08:38] Erik: It’s not going to be immediate.
[0:08:39 – 0:08:39] Erik: Right.
[0:08:39 – 0:08:39] Erik: No.
[0:08:40 – 0:08:48] Erik: So yeah, I think I would prefer my mass pandemic style end of the world to just like a huge like solar flare.
[0:08:48 – 0:08:52] Erik: Just call the herd a little bit before we go into true lockdown.
[0:08:53 – 0:08:56] Erik: You saw lockdown during COVID.
[0:08:56 – 0:09:02] Erik: Just imagine lockdown you’re going to be in if it actually happens and the lights literally go out forever.
[0:09:05 – 0:09:07] Adam: It would be pretty wild, you know.
[0:09:07 – 0:09:08] Adam: I at least know I have water.
[0:09:09 – 0:09:09] Erik: Yeah.
[0:09:10 – 0:09:12] Adam: I got water no matter if the power’s on or off.
[0:09:12 – 0:09:13] Adam: It is nice.
[0:09:13 – 0:09:13] Adam: I like that.
[0:09:14 – 0:09:20] Erik: Just imagining my daily bucket chore of walking down to the lake to haul a bucket of water.
[0:09:20 – 0:09:21] Erik: You’d be in such good shape.
[0:09:21 – 0:09:21] Erik: Yeah.
[0:09:21 – 0:09:22] Adam: You’d be in such good shape.
[0:09:25 – 0:09:30] Adam: We did find the letter from the show sponsors last week.
[0:09:30 – 0:09:31] Adam: Oh, yeah.
[0:09:32 – 0:09:34] Erik: We didn’t get any egregious, angry emails.
[0:09:34 – 0:09:37] Erik: Not that it would have been egregious, but we didn’t get any angry emails.
[0:09:37 – 0:09:38] Erik: They’re just out sailing.
[0:09:39 – 0:09:45] Erik: Last week’s sponsors, we led you all to believe that they were just mysteriously left.
[0:09:46 – 0:09:47] Adam: In the mystery bag 10.
[0:09:48 – 0:09:48] Erik: Mystery bag.
[0:09:48 – 0:09:49] Adam: They were.
[0:09:49 – 0:09:57] Adam: But somehow we found this letter after we finished recording, I think even after the Tumble Home Cinema Classic last week.
[0:09:57 – 0:09:58] Adam: So it was pretty late.
[0:09:59 – 0:10:00] Adam: And I don’t know.
[0:10:01 – 0:10:01] Adam: There it was.
[0:10:01 – 0:10:03] Adam: Oh, we actually did have a letter.
[0:10:04 – 0:10:12] Erik: Last week’s sponsors were from Nick and Amy, biggest fans in the USVI.
[0:10:12 – 0:10:16] Erik: That’s the US Virgin Islands, ladies and gentlemen.
[0:10:16 – 0:10:17] Erik: That’s pretty cool.
[0:10:17 – 0:10:18] Erik: So if we’re ever in the Caribbean…
[0:10:19 – 0:10:22] Adam: I bet they could see the Northern Lights and the U.S. Virgin Islands last night.
[0:10:22 – 0:10:24] Adam: Because I know they could see them in Florida.
[0:10:24 – 0:10:25] Adam: I saw pictures.
[0:10:25 – 0:10:26] Adam: Yeah?
[0:10:26 – 0:10:29] Adam: And my sister’s in Georgia, and they saw them.
[0:10:29 – 0:10:30] Adam: Dang.
[0:10:30 – 0:10:31] Adam: Like, clear as day.
[0:10:32 – 0:10:34] Adam: Like, nice pink ones down there, too, even.
[0:10:34 – 0:10:38] Adam: Like, I… You know, I would say I’ve never seen the data…
[0:10:40 – 0:11:07] Adam: kp9 or whatever sustained for that long but it still wasn’t really in the top five for shows and that was partially because it was mostly cloudy here and sort of like cleared out enough to where you could see it at one point a little hazy too yeah and the moon was up at first that was kind of affecting the show but yeah it was just a different kind yeah northern light like we’re is too big of a storm too big
[0:11:07 – 0:11:08] Erik: We’re too far north.
[0:11:08 – 0:11:12] Adam: All the tendrils were down south and we were just getting like the residual background glow.
[0:11:12 – 0:11:13] Erik: Yeah.
[0:11:13 – 0:11:17] Erik: And some top, need a little like top streakers, but they kind of just looked like clouds.
[0:11:17 – 0:11:22] Erik: Like you said, there was never really much of like a, oh man, look at them go.
[0:11:22 – 0:11:22] Erik: Yeah.
[0:11:22 – 0:11:23] Adam: Some pulsations.
[0:11:24 – 0:11:25] Erik: I sat out there for a while.
[0:11:25 – 0:11:26] Erik: I sat out for like an hour.
[0:11:26 – 0:11:28] Adam: It was pretty pleasant out last night, too.
[0:11:28 – 0:11:28] Adam: It was good.
[0:11:28 – 0:11:29] Erik: Very little wind.
[0:11:29 – 0:11:30] Adam: Yeah.
[0:11:30 – 0:11:31] Adam: Reasonable temperatures.
[0:11:32 – 0:11:35] Adam: I was just out there on the deck having a good old time.
[0:11:35 – 0:11:38] Adam: Anyways, Nick and Amy?
[0:11:39 – 0:11:39] Erik: Nick and Amy.
[0:11:40 – 0:11:40] Adam: On a sailboat.
[0:11:41 – 0:11:42] Adam: How did these beers get up here?
[0:11:42 – 0:11:44] Adam: Did you sail all the way up to Lake Superior?
[0:11:45 – 0:11:47] Erik: Yeah, I just hitched a ride on the Okatantis.
[0:11:48 – 0:11:49] Adam: Did you go through the locks?
[0:11:49 – 0:11:50] Erik: Yeah.
[0:11:50 – 0:11:51] Adam: Tell us more.
[0:11:52 – 0:11:53] Adam: How do locks work?
[0:11:53 – 0:12:00] Adam: Thank you for your support of the show, and that Fitker’s was definitely delicious.
[0:12:01 – 0:12:03] Adam: The Moon Man, also delicious.
[0:12:03 – 0:12:06] Adam: Eric’s Tart Beer, I know they could see the…
[0:12:07 – 0:12:08] Adam: Glimmer in his eye.
[0:12:08 – 0:12:09] Adam: The what beer?
[0:12:09 – 0:12:10] Adam: The tart.
[0:12:11 – 0:12:11] Adam: Oh, yeah, yeah.
[0:12:11 – 0:12:12] Adam: That was good.
[0:12:12 – 0:12:13] Adam: You had a tarted beer.
[0:12:13 – 0:12:16] Erik: I had a tarted beer and a ranch water.
[0:12:16 – 0:12:17] Erik: Ranch, that’s right.
[0:12:17 – 0:12:17] Erik: Topo.
[0:12:17 – 0:12:18] Erik: Alcoholic water.
[0:12:19 – 0:12:19] Erik: It’s great.
[0:12:19 – 0:12:21] Erik: What will they think of next?
[0:12:23 – 0:12:26] Adam: I’m going to have to put my microphone down to get this Hy-Vee bag.
[0:12:26 – 0:12:32] Adam: So this one came off the whiteboard next, and it was just written on the whiteboard as Hy-Vee bag.
[0:12:32 – 0:12:33] Erik: Hy-Vee bag.
[0:12:33 – 0:12:33] Erik: It is.
[0:12:34 – 0:12:40] Erik: Yeah, I was going to say, if you don’t start using two hands, we’ll be here all night commenting on the one-handed.
[0:12:40 – 0:12:41] Erik: Here we go.
[0:12:42 – 0:12:42] Erik: Ooh.
[0:12:42 – 0:12:43] Erik: Is it filled with cash?
[0:12:45 – 0:12:49] Adam: We got a whole envelope on the top that says Tumblr and podcast sponsorship.
[0:12:49 – 0:12:51] Adam: There is a 30% chance this is full of cash.
[0:12:51 – 0:12:52] Adam: Oh, my gosh.
[0:12:53 – 0:12:57] Erik: We will end the whole thing right now if it’s full of cash.
[0:13:00 – 0:13:00] Erik: It’s not cash.
[0:13:01 – 0:13:02] Erik: We’re gonna press on.
[0:13:02 – 0:13:05] Erik: Hmm.
[0:13:06 – 0:13:10] Adam: All right, so I did have it in my notes, but it looks like we got ourselves covered here.
[0:13:10 – 0:13:13] Adam: Hello, this is from September of 2023.
[0:13:13 – 0:13:18] Adam: Eric and Adam, please accept this meager offering on behalf of Scott and myself.
[0:13:18 – 0:13:20] Adam: We are longtime listeners.
[0:13:20 – 0:13:23] Adam: Sorry to confess to never have contributed to the subreddit.
[0:13:24 – 0:13:24] Adam: That’s okay.
[0:13:25 – 0:13:28] Adam: Lurkers are what makes the world go round, really.
[0:13:29 – 0:13:32] Adam: You both are informative and importantly highly entertaining.
[0:13:32 – 0:13:35] Adam: We even get our wives to listen at times.
[0:13:35 – 0:13:40] Adam: They always talk about the Kodiak cakes from the Brekkie episode.
[0:13:40 – 0:13:40] Erik: Kodiak cakes.
[0:13:40 – 0:13:41] Adam: Kodiak.
[0:13:42 – 0:14:08] Adam: scott and i just came out from a loop through gaskin and wanted to drop these off to me it’s a paradox that the badger hill brewing is located in shakopee minnesota and that’s somewhere in wisconsin anyways enjoy and keep up the great work scott and warren and uh my notes on the whiteboard said that they had been waylaid on uh waylaid on gaskin or waylaid on winchell
[0:14:09 – 0:14:12] Adam: I’m going to definitely go back and double check that.
[0:14:14 – 0:14:16] Adam: Way late on Gaskin is what I had in my notes.
[0:14:16 – 0:14:30] Adam: So I remember meeting these two gentlemen in the co-op, and they dropped off what appears to be Minnesota beers from Wisconsin in a high V bag.
[0:14:30 – 0:14:32] Adam: These are ice cold.
[0:14:32 – 0:14:33] Adam: I did get them.
[0:14:33 – 0:14:36] Adam: I have the mini fridge plugged back in, Eric.
[0:14:37 – 0:14:38] Erik: Very good.
[0:14:39 – 0:14:39] Erik: These look good.
[0:14:39 – 0:14:42] Erik: You don’t see purple on the cans very much.
[0:14:43 – 0:14:45] Adam: I like these paper six-pack holders.
[0:14:46 – 0:14:46] Erik: Yeah.
[0:14:46 – 0:14:47] Adam: I like it.
[0:14:47 – 0:14:48] Erik: Fish-friendly.
[0:14:49 – 0:14:50] Erik: Ocean-approved.
[0:14:52 – 0:14:53] Erik: Badger Hill Brewing.
[0:14:54 – 0:14:54] Adam: Uh-oh.
[0:14:55 – 0:14:55] Erik: Oh, God.
[0:14:58 – 0:14:59] Adam: Nope.
[0:14:59 – 0:15:00] Adam: We have it all under control.
[0:15:01 – 0:15:02] Adam: We have it all under control.
[0:15:02 – 0:15:03] Erik: Oh, God.
[0:15:03 – 0:15:04] Erik: Trader IPA.
[0:15:06 – 0:15:08] Erik: I don’t drink the IPAs too much anymore these days.
[0:15:09 – 0:15:09] Erik: Heavy duty.
[0:15:10 – 0:15:13] Erik: That’s like a malt of a beer.
[0:15:15 – 0:15:16] Erik: Getting info on this thing?
[0:15:17 – 0:15:17] Erik: I don’t know.
[0:15:17 – 0:15:28] Erik: Didn’t come with a whole booklet to read about the history and the cheeky retorts to beer culture that most of the beers love to come with.
[0:15:29 – 0:15:32] Erik: I may be like three years behind that commentary.
[0:15:32 – 0:15:35] Erik: It doesn’t seem like as much of a thing anymore, but for a while there.
[0:15:36 – 0:15:38] Adam: These are just regular-sized cans.
[0:15:38 – 0:15:40] Adam: There’s not enough room for a story.
[0:15:40 – 0:15:41] Adam: Just stick to a nice picture.
[0:15:41 – 0:15:42] Erik: Just a regular can.
[0:15:42 – 0:15:45] Adam: Are these mosaic hops, Eric?
[0:15:46 – 0:15:47] Erik: I have no idea.
[0:15:47 – 0:16:00] Erik: The logo looks kind of like a military unit logo that you’d see, like a patch on a shoulder, kind of like a, I don’t know what you’d call that, like a shield with a star in it.
[0:16:01 – 0:16:02] Erik: Are these right-wing beers?
[0:16:03 – 0:16:04] Erik: Oh, God.
[0:16:04 – 0:16:06] Adam: I think this is the FaZe Clan, Eric.
[0:16:06 – 0:16:07] Adam: Oh, shit.
[0:16:07 – 0:16:09] Adam: FaZe Clan adjacent?
[0:16:10 – 0:16:12] Adam: They’re called traitor IPAs.
[0:16:12 – 0:16:13] Adam: Traitor IPAs.
[0:16:13 – 0:16:17] Adam: I think of the mean it in traitor ironically.
[0:16:17 – 0:16:19] Erik: Yeah, you are now a traitor.
[0:16:20 – 0:16:22] Erik: 12 fluid ounces, 7%.
[0:16:22 – 0:16:32] Erik: It’s like double my typical Mexican beer ABV intake, which is where my liver is used to these days.
[0:16:34 – 0:16:36] Erik: It’s still quite good.
[0:16:37 – 0:16:42] Erik: If we find out they’re phase clans, then, well, we’ll have to issue another apology.
[0:16:42 – 0:16:46] Adam: We always are apologizing on the show for good reason.
[0:16:47 – 0:16:48] Erik: Well, for things we just don’t understand.
[0:16:52 – 0:16:54] Erik: Do we have anything else?
[0:16:54 – 0:17:01] Adam: I did see my first mosquito of the year on Friday, and then today I saw my first dragonfly.
[0:17:01 – 0:17:02] Adam: I tried to, and I missed.
[0:17:03 – 0:17:04] Erik: I did see a dragonfly.
[0:17:04 – 0:17:04] Erik: I was shocked.
[0:17:04 – 0:17:06] Adam: I saw a dragonfly today, so they’re in sync.
[0:17:07 – 0:17:07] Adam: Yeah.
[0:17:07 – 0:17:10] Adam: They’re all synced up, so I did want to report on that.
[0:17:10 – 0:17:11] Erik: Hopefully it stays that way.
[0:17:12 – 0:17:18] Adam: I did do some work on my Joe Pera inspired bean trellis in the rain the other day.
[0:17:18 – 0:17:26] Adam: So I don’t have a whole lot of update, but the trellis is up and I have some pumpkins going, but I’m also going to do a lot of beans.
[0:17:26 – 0:17:29] Adam: Imagine reaching up to pick a bean.
[0:17:30 – 0:17:30] Erik: Imagine.
[0:17:31 – 0:17:36] Adam: So no real update there, but just planting that seed for later in this season.
[0:17:36 – 0:17:37] Erik: Oh, boy.
[0:17:37 – 0:17:37] Erik: Yeah.
[0:17:38 – 0:17:40] Adam: And, yeah.
[0:17:40 – 0:17:44] Adam: Otherwise, I think it’s time to get to the Sweet 16 coverage.
[0:17:53 – 0:17:57] Erik: I forgot how much that one part of that slowed down song just sounds like Back to the Future.
[0:17:57 – 0:18:00] Erik: Yeah, always.
[0:18:00 – 0:18:01] Erik: John Williams?
[0:18:02 – 0:18:02] Erik: Are you involved?
[0:18:03 – 0:18:04] Erik: Sweet 16 coverage.
[0:18:04 – 0:18:07] Adam: It always cracks me up how you go to vote.
[0:18:07 – 0:18:17] Adam: I always wait to vote until the end of the week usually, and you go in and vote, and multiple matchups have 90 votes or 100 votes, and then some of the matchups, there’s only eight matchups.
[0:18:18 – 0:18:22] Adam: tonight for the sweet 16 coverage but some of the matchups only had like 70 votes
[0:18:23 – 0:18:26] Erik: Yeah, I think maybe people were just getting a little worn down by the CAPTCHA.
[0:18:27 – 0:18:29] Erik: Prove it.
[0:18:29 – 0:18:35] Erik: The human proving where I was just like in the setting up of the tournament, I was like, yeah, sure, do the CAPTCHA.
[0:18:35 – 0:18:35] Adam: I don’t care.
[0:18:35 – 0:18:40] Erik: I didn’t realize it was going to be every single matchup.
[0:18:40 – 0:18:42] Erik: It’s not just like the pushing of the button.
[0:18:42 – 0:18:47] Erik: It was like which one of these squares doesn’t have asphalt in it.
[0:18:47 – 0:18:48] Adam: It reminded me of that one.
[0:18:48 – 0:18:51] Adam: It’s like a grid of like, is it a chihuahua or a blueberry muffin?
[0:18:52 – 0:18:52] Erik: Oh, yeah.
[0:18:53 – 0:18:54] Adam: I don’t even know.
[0:18:54 – 0:18:57] Erik: I don’t even know what the difference is anymore.
[0:18:57 – 0:18:57] Adam: Yeah.
[0:18:58 – 0:19:00] Adam: It was actually trickier than I thought.
[0:19:00 – 0:19:01] Adam: But I don’t know.
[0:19:01 – 0:19:04] Adam: It wasn’t like the order you do them in.
[0:19:04 – 0:19:05] Adam: It was just weird.
[0:19:05 – 0:19:07] Adam: Some of the matchups don’t give as many votes.
[0:19:07 – 0:19:08] Adam: You always wonder how that goes.
[0:19:08 – 0:19:08] Erik: Yeah.
[0:19:09 – 0:19:10] Adam: I gave up middle of the way through.
[0:19:10 – 0:19:11] Adam: I couldn’t handle it.
[0:19:11 – 0:19:13] Adam: I’m not interested in voting on this one.
[0:19:13 – 0:19:15] Adam: I did change the…
[0:19:15 – 0:19:16] Adam: I’ve only got two and a half minutes.
[0:19:16 – 0:19:17] Adam: The link in the…
[0:19:17 – 0:19:18] Adam: Hurry up.
[0:19:19 – 0:19:19] Adam: Got to make a decision.
[0:19:20 – 0:19:24] Adam: I did change the link in the bio on the Tumble Home Instagram picture app.
[0:19:24 – 0:19:25] Erik: Link in bio?
[0:19:25 – 0:19:31] Adam: Yeah, and I did use the hashtag link in bio for a couple pictures I put up of some fine Coghlan’s products.
[0:19:32 – 0:19:32] Erik: Nice.
[0:19:32 – 0:19:33] Adam: So, yeah.
[0:19:33 – 0:19:39] Adam: We did have a bit of a controversy after Selection Friday was over, and we will address that later.
[0:19:39 – 0:19:42] Adam: We had a bit of a scandal in the…
[0:19:42 – 0:20:04] Erik: big speculation on the reasoning behind uh an omission a specific team that was omitted even though we talked about them heavily but there are details and uh apparently there’s an explanation it’s kind of a sad one at that oh no should we just get right to it the explanation yeah i have a special statement here uh from tumble home sports network
[0:20:06 – 0:20:10] Adam: Norm Coghlan would be very disappointed in the Camp Toaster team.
[0:20:10 – 0:20:22] Adam: The committee has discovered that star players Rye Butters and Tex French were caught betting against their own team during their overtime loss to the Double Broiler in the Camp Cooking Conference championship game.
[0:20:22 – 0:20:27] Adam: in which the Toasters mysteriously failed to generate even one shot on goal in three power play attempts.
[0:20:28 – 0:20:30] Erik: Oh, so these teams are playing hockey.
[0:20:30 – 0:20:33] Adam: Coach Krusty Kapp should resign immediately.
[0:20:33 – 0:20:39] Adam: These actions have badly burnt the delicious reputation of the camping crowd-pleasers.
[0:20:41 – 0:20:41] Erik: Yeah, I mean…
[0:20:41 – 0:20:42] Adam: The crowd pleasers.
[0:20:43 – 0:20:45] Adam: Out of the tournament before it even began.
[0:20:45 – 0:20:49] Erik: Not going to be pleasing too many more crowds with activities and actions like that.
[0:20:50 – 0:20:52] Erik: Betting against themselves, too.
[0:20:52 – 0:21:00] Adam: That’s the accusations, and we have credible witnesses and documentation.
[0:21:01 – 0:21:02] Adam: I mean, ladies and gentlemen…
[0:21:02 – 0:21:07] Adam: The committee wouldn’t have taken the action to exclude the original Coghlan’s product
[0:21:07 – 0:21:36] Adam: without good reason and unfortunately uh we don’t even need to complete the investigation uh we’ve made the right decision and i stand by the actions of the committee in this one i know there’s a lot of disappointed fans out there from the crowd pleasers and uh toast lovers out there in camp uh everybody is used to seeing the camp toaster has been a staple of the final four for as long as the coglins cup has been a tournament for the ages so it’s like the uh
[0:21:38 – 0:21:40] Erik: Washington Militia University or whatever.
[0:21:41 – 0:21:43] Erik: They won three years in a row, and now they’re banned.
[0:21:43 – 0:21:44] Erik: They got disqualified.
[0:21:45 – 0:21:47] Adam: Exactly like the Washington Military Institute.
[0:21:47 – 0:21:50] Erik: That’s what it was, wasn’t it?
[0:21:50 – 0:21:52] Erik: Washington Military Institute.
[0:21:52 – 0:21:54] Adam: You just expect to see them at the top.
[0:21:54 – 0:21:58] Adam: It’s like Dallas Seaview or Max Verstappen at this point.
[0:21:58 – 0:22:01] Adam: Just who’s going to take second, really, is who you’re wondering about.
[0:22:02 – 0:22:08] Adam: to see the product that Norm Coghlan started out with back in Winnipeg in the 1946s.
[0:22:10 – 0:22:11] Adam: Not making it into the show.
[0:22:12 – 0:22:23] Adam: It’s a sad day for the tournament, but it’s also a moment for excitement because a very high-quality team that deserves the Cup will end up winning it.
[0:22:23 – 0:22:24] Adam: So we’re going to have to move on.
[0:22:24 – 0:22:30] Adam: But yeah, we did have some questions after voting was opened up as to where the hell is the Camp Toaster?
[0:22:30 – 0:22:30] Adam: Yeah.
[0:22:30 – 0:22:31] Adam: Beloved Camp Toaster.
[0:22:32 – 0:22:33] Adam: Not going to be in the show this year.
[0:22:34 – 0:22:34] Erik: Yeah.
[0:22:34 – 0:22:35] Erik: I mean, and…
[0:22:35 – 0:22:37] Adam: But we got to have integrity, Eric.
[0:22:37 – 0:22:38] Erik: Exactly.
[0:22:38 – 0:22:39] Erik: That’s what we’re all about.
[0:22:39 – 0:22:41] Erik: Always have been, always will be.
[0:22:42 – 0:22:45] Erik: And pro tip, always bet on yourself.
[0:22:46 – 0:22:47] Erik: Never bet against yourself.
[0:22:47 – 0:22:50] Adam: Betting against yourself is something a traitor would do.
[0:22:50 – 0:22:50] Adam: Truly.
[0:22:52 – 0:22:53] Adam: Trader IPA.
[0:22:53 – 0:22:54] Adam: Cheers.
[0:22:54 – 0:22:54] Adam: Cheers.
[0:22:57 – 0:23:00] Adam: I’m pretty sure that’s the plot line to The Punisher.
[0:23:00 – 0:23:03] Adam: Yeah.
[0:23:04 – 0:23:04] Adam: Thin blue line.
[0:23:05 – 0:23:05] Adam: Yeah.
[0:23:06 – 0:23:06] Adam: What?
[0:23:07 – 0:23:08] Adam: Moving on.
[0:23:10 – 0:23:11] Adam: We had a…
[0:23:13 – 0:23:15] Adam: Number one versus number eight matchup.
[0:23:15 – 0:23:16] Adam: First round.
[0:23:16 – 0:23:21] Adam: And we had our special correspondent, Rick Kleiner, was there live in Winnipeg for this one.
[0:23:22 – 0:23:25] Adam: And I’m excited to see what the results were.
[0:23:26 – 0:23:29] Adam: We have the number one seed, Tent Whisk with Dustpan.
[0:23:31 – 0:23:38] Adam: They have the compact nesting design, fine bristles, and 3.5 ounces of thermoplastic.
[0:23:39 – 0:23:41] Erik: Don’t forget about that, what was it?
[0:23:41 – 0:23:42] Erik: Thermoplastic?
[0:23:43 – 0:23:44] Adam: Thermoplastic.
[0:23:47 – 0:23:48] Erik: Oh, no.
[0:23:48 – 0:23:51] Erik: For what?
[0:23:51 – 0:23:53] Erik: Sweeping in the heat?
[0:23:53 – 0:23:55] Erik: Sweeping up some hot coals?
[0:23:55 – 0:24:00] Adam: Yeah, you could sweep up liquids, gases, and plasmas.
[0:24:00 – 0:24:12] Erik: Yeah, some spilt, just in case you spill any molten mercury or anything on your ground as you’re doing some thermometer experiments with the kids.
[0:24:12 – 0:24:15] Erik: Oops, I left my uranium out for the raccoons to eat.
[0:24:15 – 0:24:17] Erik: Oops, who left this elephant foot here?
[0:24:17 – 0:24:19] Erik: Let me sweep this up.
[0:24:19 – 0:24:21] Erik: It can handle 450 degrees.
[0:24:21 – 0:24:24] Erik: It’s got thermoplastic.
[0:24:25 – 0:24:26] Adam: Thermoplastics.
[0:24:28 – 0:24:31] Erik: And going up against the eight seed, the food cover.
[0:24:32 – 0:24:32] Erik: Oh, boy.
[0:24:33 – 0:24:35] Erik: Slash food rug.
[0:24:36 – 0:24:37] Erik: The tent mat.
[0:24:37 – 0:24:43] Erik: They needed to combine a couple of lower quality items just to get to a point that it could even stand a chance.
[0:24:44 – 0:24:45] Adam: I thought it was a pretty smart idea.
[0:24:45 – 0:24:47] Adam: You know, a good alliance on their part.
[0:24:49 – 0:24:49] Adam: Yeah.
[0:24:50 – 0:24:53] Adam: Of course they have the metal umbrella frame.
[0:24:54 – 0:24:56] Adam: Eric was very excited about it last week, as was I.
[0:24:57 – 0:24:59] Adam: Fresh squeezed Manitoba rubber.
[0:25:01 – 0:25:05] Adam: Oh, the finest rubber trees up there in northern Manitoba.
[0:25:05 – 0:25:09] Erik: Yeah, it’s like giving somebody a snake burn, except you do it on a tree and rubber comes out.
[0:25:10 – 0:25:14] Adam: It’s very, almost, I would say it’s almost erotic.
[0:25:15 – 0:25:16] Erik: Yeah, I mean…
[0:25:16 – 0:25:18] Adam: It’s very satisfying, for sure.
[0:25:18 – 0:25:22] Erik: For a Canadian, yeah, that’s the height of eroticism.
[0:25:23 – 0:25:24] Erik: Milking a rubber tree.
[0:25:25 – 0:25:27] Erik: Manitoba rubber!
[0:25:27 – 0:25:28] Erik: During milking season?
[0:25:30 – 0:25:31] Erik: I love milking season.
[0:25:31 – 0:25:35] Adam: Shout out to our special sponsor tonight, Manitoba Rubber Commission.
[0:25:36 – 0:25:38] Erik: The Manitoba Rubber Milk Commission.
[0:25:40 – 0:25:42] Adam: You want to squeeze those trees, buddy.
[0:25:43 – 0:25:49] Erik: I would love to see just like a very government produced, like PSA, like pro, like rubber.
[0:25:49 – 0:25:51] Erik: It’s what you put on your mat.
[0:25:51 – 0:25:57] Adam: Hello, my name is Dr. Marvin Candle coming to you from the Minnesota Rubber Commission.
[0:25:58 – 0:26:00] Adam: And you’re going to want to squeeze your trees, buddy.
[0:26:01 – 0:26:01] Erik: All right.
[0:26:02 – 0:26:02] Erik: Tree squeezers.
[0:26:03 – 0:26:08] Erik: The tree squeezers are not performing a miracle tonight.
[0:26:08 – 0:26:12] Erik: They go down in round one to the tent whisk.
[0:26:12 – 0:26:16] Adam: It looks like it was a pretty bad beat down here, Jim.
[0:26:16 – 0:26:20] Adam: 87 votes for the tent whisk and dustpan.
[0:26:20 – 0:26:22] Adam: You happen to have a pen around?
[0:26:22 – 0:26:24] Erik: I could procure one.
[0:26:25 – 0:26:25] Adam: It’s okay.
[0:26:25 – 0:26:27] Adam: We have it because it’s on the internet.
[0:26:27 – 0:26:28] Adam: It’s there forever.
[0:26:28 – 0:26:29] Adam: Don’t even have to write it down.
[0:26:29 – 0:26:30] Adam: It’s already written down.
[0:26:31 – 0:26:33] Adam: Thanks to our friends at PollTab.
[0:26:33 – 0:26:34] Adam: PollTab.
[0:26:35 – 0:26:36] Adam: Only humans allowed to vote in these tournaments.
[0:26:37 – 0:26:38] Adam: Only humans.
[0:26:38 – 0:26:39] Adam: That’s what they care about most.
[0:26:39 – 0:26:45] Adam: We do thank all our human voters and human listeners tonight on Tumble Home Sports Network.
[0:26:45 – 0:26:47] Adam: Thank you for listening with your ears.
[0:26:48 – 0:26:54] Erik: Yes, and you have your human cone rubber skin flesh flap.
[0:26:55 – 0:26:57] Erik: Thank you for having them.
[0:26:57 – 0:27:03] Erik: You’ve got six days and 13 hours and 18 minutes and 34 seconds.
[0:27:03 – 0:27:03] Erik: Three, two, one.
[0:27:03 – 0:27:07] Adam: 29 seconds to vote on round two.
[0:27:12 – 0:27:14] Erik: We don’t even know who’s in the second round, though.
[0:27:14 – 0:27:21] Erik: Going up against the tent whisk and dustpan with the silicone handle.
[0:27:22 – 0:27:26] Erik: Going up against the… Extendible.
[0:27:26 – 0:27:28] Adam: Oh, extendible.
[0:27:29 – 0:27:29] Adam: Fire poker.
[0:27:30 – 0:27:33] Erik: It’s a four versus five seed matchup.
[0:27:33 – 0:27:35] Erik: I imagine this one’s going to be pretty neck and neck.
[0:27:35 – 0:27:40] Erik: I would have to lean towards the silicone handle just for the history.
[0:27:41 – 0:27:44] Adam: The history, 400 degrees, easily handled.
[0:27:45 – 0:27:45] Adam: Wow.
[0:27:45 – 0:27:48] Adam: Fits most pots and pans handles.
[0:27:48 – 0:27:49] Erik: Fits most.
[0:27:49 – 0:27:50] Erik: Fits most.
[0:27:50 – 0:27:52] Adam: Fits most handles.
[0:27:52 – 0:27:55] Adam: I would love to see a handle that doesn’t fit this thing.
[0:27:55 – 0:27:56] Erik: I want that handle.
[0:27:56 – 0:27:59] Adam: What kind of handles are we even talking about here?
[0:27:59 – 0:28:00] Erik: I want a thick handle.
[0:28:00 – 0:28:04] Adam: Handles for giants making flapjacks the size of cars?
[0:28:05 – 0:28:06] Erik: Bunion.
[0:28:07 – 0:28:08] Adam: It’s a Paul Bunion kind of handle.
[0:28:08 – 0:28:09] Erik: It’s a Bunion handle.
[0:28:10 – 0:28:19] Adam: Your blue ox can’t handle this silicone handle grip, but most pots can, and for $3.99, it’s a real value.
[0:28:20 – 0:28:30] Adam: Going up against the Extendible Fire Poker, $12.99, from the Collapsible Conference Champions, a real darling story.
[0:28:31 – 0:28:36] Adam: The telescoping flyswatter has been dominating the
[0:28:36 – 0:29:06] Adam: that conference for many years to see extendible come out of there extendible you and uh they can poke i think a prod and they can pull and uh it’s got chrome plated steel eric of course i never thought plated i never thought too hard in strange 30 inches 17 to 30 inches so it’s only a 13 inch range that might be its downfall i never really thought uh not enough range
[0:29:07 – 0:29:07] Erik: Not enough range.
[0:29:07 – 0:29:14] Erik: I think if it had a little bit more closer to two-foot range, we might be talking a mild upset here.
[0:29:14 – 0:29:25] Erik: But I have strong confidence in the silicone handles moving on to take on the tent whisks, which would be a classic second-round matchup.
[0:29:25 – 0:29:27] Erik: And it is who we’re getting in the second round.
[0:29:27 – 0:29:28] Erik: Oh, yes.
[0:29:28 – 0:29:30] Erik: We’ve got the silicone handles moving on 65 to 25.
[0:29:30 – 0:29:33] Erik: Again, not too close.
[0:29:33 – 0:29:33] Adam: Pretty good.
[0:29:35 – 0:29:42] Adam: Yeah, no, so yeah, it sets up a tent whisk versus silicone handle grip in the Elite 8.
[0:29:42 – 0:29:48] Adam: Those are both items that have been on multiple Tumble Home Live in the Field episodes.
[0:29:49 – 0:29:50] Adam: Going to be a tough choice there.
[0:29:52 – 0:29:52] Adam: Classic.
[0:29:52 – 0:30:02] Adam: I would say, and I think we brought this up on Selection Friday, if only the silicone handle grip was Coghlan’s yellow, it would probably be unstoppable.
[0:30:02 – 0:30:08] Erik: Probably be much higher seated, probably talking beginning of a dynasty.
[0:30:10 – 0:30:10] Adam: For real.
[0:30:10 – 0:30:12] Erik: An era, if you will.
[0:30:14 – 0:30:31] Adam: Coming up in the next matchup, we’ve got the 3-6 matchup, and featuring the three-seed Mosquito Coil Holder, $7.99, metal and glass fiber mesh, hung or laid flat for complete burning, Eric.
[0:30:33 – 0:30:34] Adam: Oh, my.
[0:30:34 – 0:30:41] Adam: And we did see our first mosquito this week, so good to have one of these on your belt buckle.
[0:30:41 – 0:30:43] Erik: I think they’re maybe ranked a little high, though.
[0:30:43 – 0:30:46] Adam: They might be a little overvalued, especially early in the season.
[0:30:46 – 0:30:49] Adam: You know, the Coghlan’s Cup is always held in May.
[0:30:50 – 0:30:50] Adam: Yeah.
[0:30:50 – 0:30:55] Adam: And not a great time for the Mosquitoes, but some years it is.
[0:30:56 – 0:30:56] Adam: Yeah, I mean…
[0:30:57 – 0:31:00] Adam: They’re going up against a big-timer six-seed.
[0:31:00 – 0:31:01] Adam: I don’t know how…
[0:31:01 – 0:31:09] Adam: I think the three for the Mosquito Coil Holder is a fair ranking, but the six-seed for the Double Broiler Cast Iron Cooker
[0:31:10 – 0:31:16] Adam: That one seems low, and they might be ready to hit our first upset of the tournament.
[0:31:17 – 0:31:18] Erik: That might be the issue.
[0:31:18 – 0:31:21] Erik: Maybe not the mosquito coil ranking, but who they’re going up against.
[0:31:22 – 0:31:22] Erik: Strong.
[0:31:22 – 0:31:23] Adam: Authentic.
[0:31:24 – 0:31:25] Adam: Authentic outdoor cooking.
[0:31:26 – 0:31:26] Erik: Authentic.
[0:31:27 – 0:31:32] Erik: It’s not extendable, but it does allow grease to flow out.
[0:31:32 – 0:31:39] Erik: I feel like maybe George Foreman learned a thing or two from the original grease flow implement.
[0:31:40 – 0:31:40] Erik: That’s right.
[0:31:40 – 0:31:41] Erik: That is the double broiler.
[0:31:41 – 0:31:51] Adam: And I would say you could easily… One of the people who raised concerns to me and the committee about the lack of the camp toasters, this is before…
[0:31:51 – 0:31:58] Adam: The allegations came to light, and they weren’t really apprised of the situation or wondering what had happened.
[0:31:58 – 0:32:15] Adam: Even though we all watched the double broiler just obliterate Camp Toaster in the conference championship game, they were skating circles around him, and they were slapping bombs and clapping buttery slices of toast.
[0:32:17 – 0:32:17] Erik: Even better.
[0:32:19 – 0:32:25] Adam: I said to this person, you know, you could easily make a nice piece of toast in the double broiler.
[0:32:25 – 0:32:32] Erik: I feel like toast is just one of those things that you can easily make in a lot of other places.
[0:32:32 – 0:32:32] Erik: Yeah.
[0:32:32 – 0:32:33] Erik: Yeah, it might take a little bit more.
[0:32:33 – 0:32:35] Erik: You can make toast in a pan.
[0:32:35 – 0:32:36] Erik: Eat a little butter.
[0:32:36 – 0:32:37] Erik: Just get a little butter.
[0:32:37 – 0:32:38] Erik: Then the butter’s in there.
[0:32:38 – 0:32:39] Erik: Right.
[0:32:39 – 0:32:41] Erik: I don’t need dry.
[0:32:41 – 0:32:44] Erik: I just want, I only want heat on bread.
[0:32:44 – 0:32:52] Adam: A lot of people had picked the double broiler to go far in this tournament, and I think it’s because it’s so versatile in the camp cooking conference.
[0:32:52 – 0:32:55] Adam: You could broil up a steak in there.
[0:32:55 – 0:32:56] Adam: Yeah.
[0:32:56 – 0:32:58] Adam: You could make up chicken adobo.
[0:32:59 – 0:32:59] Adam: Chicken adobo.
[0:33:00 – 0:33:01] Adam: You could fry a whole burrito.
[0:33:01 – 0:33:02] Adam: You could make a piece of toast.
[0:33:03 – 0:33:05] Adam: You could smash up a bunch of fish fillets in there.
[0:33:05 – 0:33:08] Adam: You can do whatever you can even dream up.
[0:33:08 – 0:33:10] Adam: You can cook it in the double broiler.
[0:33:11 – 0:33:16] Adam: And they might not be the fastest team, but they are up there in terms of versatility.
[0:33:16 – 0:33:23] Adam: And at $24.99, one of the more expensive items in the Coghlan’s catalog, so you know it’s high quality, it’s good.
[0:33:24 – 0:33:26] Adam: Really high quality cast iron equipment there.
[0:33:26 – 0:33:28] Adam: With a wooden handle.
[0:33:28 – 0:33:30] Erik: Always get the job done.
[0:33:30 – 0:33:31] Adam: They always get the job done.
[0:33:31 – 0:33:32] Adam: And you know what?
[0:33:32 – 0:33:36] Adam: You know what I love more than anything in a big camping trip, Eric?
[0:33:37 – 0:33:39] Adam: Mouthwatering feasts.
[0:33:40 – 0:33:42] Erik: Mouthwatering feasts is what it’s going to be.
[0:33:42 – 0:33:43] Erik: They did it!
[0:33:43 – 0:33:45] Erik: Crush the mosquito coils.
[0:33:45 – 0:33:46] Adam: Oh, wow.
[0:33:46 – 0:33:47] Adam: Not even close.
[0:33:47 – 0:33:48] Erik: 66 votes to 20.
[0:33:49 – 0:33:52] Erik: The cast iron double broilers.
[0:33:52 – 0:33:55] Erik: They’re going to be dripping grease all over this next round.
[0:33:55 – 0:34:03] Adam: I’m wondering if a lot of the people who were looking for the camp toaster have put their votes behind the double broiler because it gets the job done.
[0:34:03 – 0:34:04] Erik: Hey, no toaster.
[0:34:04 – 0:34:07] Erik: I’m voting for that conference.
[0:34:07 – 0:34:07] Erik: I don’t care.
[0:34:07 – 0:34:10] Adam: Yeah, you’re not making a toast on a tent whisk.
[0:34:11 – 0:34:11] Erik: Well.
[0:34:12 – 0:34:12] Adam: Or a dust broom.
[0:34:13 – 0:34:20] Erik: 450 degrees thermoplastic is something, but you’re not cooking on that.
[0:34:21 – 0:34:22] Adam: You absolutely are, Nat.
[0:34:22 – 0:34:24] Erik: Cast iron, double broilers.
[0:34:24 – 0:34:26] Erik: It’s the double, I think, that got it through.
[0:34:26 – 0:34:31] Erik: And the grease holes also, a new added feature this year.
[0:34:31 – 0:34:32] Erik: It streamlined them.
[0:34:33 – 0:34:36] Erik: I mean, they’re slicing and dicing their way through the competition.
[0:34:37 – 0:34:42] Erik: Say what you will about the Throne Championship game against the Toasters.
[0:34:42 – 0:34:46] Erik: I think that one was over in the first period anyway.
[0:34:47 – 0:34:47] Erik: But…
[0:34:48 – 0:34:51] Adam: Yeah, it’s not really doing them justice to say maybe it was thrown or whatever.
[0:34:51 – 0:34:52] Adam: I don’t even think it mattered.
[0:34:53 – 0:34:54] Adam: They just took that game.
[0:34:54 – 0:34:54] Erik: Yeah, they did.
[0:34:55 – 0:34:55] Erik: Didn’t matter.
[0:34:56 – 0:34:57] Erik: Shouldn’t even have been a thing.
[0:34:57 – 0:34:58] Erik: But just fine.
[0:34:58 – 0:35:01] Erik: You don’t want to bet on yourself, then don’t.
[0:35:02 – 0:35:05] Adam: I’m betting on double cast iron broilers.
[0:35:05 – 0:35:07] Erik: I’m high on the broilers this year.
[0:35:07 – 0:35:10] Adam: I’m pretty excited for their future, and that’s a versatile.
[0:35:10 – 0:35:11] Adam: You could cook for two in that thing.
[0:35:12 – 0:35:19] Adam: If you and I had one of those on a camping trip, I think we would be having mouth-watering feasts every night and every morning.
[0:35:20 – 0:35:25] Erik: I’d love to know the over-under on biters in the broiler.
[0:35:25 – 0:35:26] Adam: That’s my notes.
[0:35:27 – 0:35:28] Adam: That’s the next thing I was going to bring up, Jim.
[0:35:29 – 0:35:30] Adam: I’m glad you asked that question.
[0:35:31 – 0:35:33] Adam: How many biters do you think you could fit in a double broiler?
[0:35:33 – 0:35:36] Erik: You probably get at least eight on each side.
[0:35:37 – 0:35:38] Adam: At least eight on each side?
[0:35:39 – 0:35:42] Adam: That seems like a pretty good deal for everybody involved.
[0:35:42 – 0:35:42] Erik: Yeah.
[0:35:43 – 0:35:45] Adam: You could probably fit a couple of calzones in there, too.
[0:35:45 – 0:35:47] Erik: Just open it up and make it rain biters.
[0:35:48 – 0:35:49] Erik: Just shake them out.
[0:35:50 – 0:35:50] Adam: Shake them out.
[0:35:51 – 0:35:51] Adam: Shake them out.
[0:35:52 – 0:35:53] Adam: Bring those biters down here.
[0:35:54 – 0:35:55] Erik: All right.
[0:35:55 – 0:35:57] Erik: You know a couple are going to get stuck.
[0:35:57 – 0:35:58] Adam: In the broiler.
[0:35:58 – 0:36:00] Adam: Yeah.
[0:36:00 – 0:36:01] Adam: Yeah.
[0:36:01 – 0:36:02] Adam: They’re doing their job.
[0:36:02 – 0:36:04] Adam: It’s a noble sacrifice.
[0:36:05 – 0:36:11] Adam: All right, what poor team is going to get sent up against the Broilers in the second round?
[0:36:11 – 0:36:14] Adam: We’re about to find out in the 2-7 matchup.
[0:36:14 – 0:36:27] Erik: I imagine that the team that’s going to move on from this, which is probably the most meme-able team of the tournament, the questionable…
[0:36:28 – 0:36:36] Erik: Ethics as to how they were actually able to make it into this tourney, considering they are no longer a Coghlan’s product.
[0:36:37 – 0:36:39] Erik: It’s like a 60-year senior.
[0:36:39 – 0:36:40] Adam: They probably know the Dean.
[0:36:40 – 0:36:42] Erik: Yeah, it’s probably a Dean situation.
[0:36:43 – 0:36:45] Erik: Reverse blackmail.
[0:36:48 – 0:36:48] Adam: You don’t want to know.
[0:36:49 – 0:36:50] Adam: It’s very tasty.
[0:36:50 – 0:36:50] Adam: Yeah.
[0:36:51 – 0:36:51] Erik: Yeah.
[0:36:51 – 0:36:52] Erik: Dean’s in trouble.
[0:36:52 – 0:36:53] Adam: Might even be poison.
[0:36:54 – 0:36:54] Erik: Hey, man.
[0:36:55 – 0:36:59] Erik: We know some snakes, and we’re the only snake bite kits in town.
[0:36:59 – 0:37:00] Erik: That’s right.
[0:37:00 – 0:37:05] Erik: So you’re letting us in this tourney, Dean, unless you want to get woken up by a bunch of snake bites.
[0:37:05 – 0:37:07] Adam: You want your rafts all covered in venom?
[0:37:08 – 0:37:08] Adam: Yeah.
[0:37:08 – 0:37:09] Adam: I don’t think you do.
[0:37:09 – 0:37:10] Adam: I don’t think you do.
[0:37:11 – 0:37:14] Adam: Do you have any idea what’s in this kit?
[0:37:14 – 0:37:15] Erik: It’s going to save your life.
[0:37:17 – 0:37:18] Adam: Trust us, it’s going to save your life.
[0:37:18 – 0:37:20] Adam: You’re going to want one of these at all times.
[0:37:21 – 0:37:21] Adam: Norm Coghlan.
[0:37:21 – 0:37:24] Adam: Norm Coghlan signed this one himself.
[0:37:24 – 0:37:26] Erik: We haven’t even mentioned the team they’re going up against.
[0:37:26 – 0:37:29] Erik: The Snakebite Kits, heavy favorites.
[0:37:29 – 0:37:31] Adam: Snakebite Kits is a two-seater, obvious heavy favorites.
[0:37:32 – 0:37:36] Adam: And since it’s no longer, I’ve been looking, I wanted to go and look up all the pricing on these.
[0:37:36 – 0:37:43] Adam: It’s one of my favorite parts of the Coghlan’s deal is the great values and listing off the pricing.
[0:37:43 – 0:37:48] Adam: They’re not in the catalog anymore, though, so no longer available like that.
[0:37:48 – 0:37:51] Adam: But you can definitely find them on the deep web.
[0:37:51 – 0:37:52] Erik: You can find some on eBay.
[0:37:52 – 0:37:56] Erik: I think there’s some, yeah, on the dark web.
[0:37:56 – 0:38:01] Erik: And the one, the picture that I attached onto the tournament, I spent many hours curating.
[0:38:01 – 0:38:02] Erik: Oh, yes.
[0:38:02 – 0:38:09] Erik: And Photoshopping these just majestic photos of these teams in their best form.
[0:38:10 – 0:38:11] Erik: And at their best.
[0:38:11 – 0:38:12] Erik: Absolutely.
[0:38:12 – 0:38:18] Erik: The Snakebite kit, since it wasn’t on the website, I had to go and find a picture of this product at large.
[0:38:18 – 0:38:22] Erik: And I found a real sick looking one from like the 90s that was for sale on eBay.
[0:38:22 – 0:38:22] Erik: Yeah.
[0:38:22 – 0:38:24] Adam: And it’s got black background.
[0:38:24 – 0:38:25] Adam: I saw that one.
[0:38:25 – 0:38:27] Erik: I was like, I want that on a t-shirt.
[0:38:27 – 0:38:29] Erik: Can I get a Snakebite t-shirt?
[0:38:30 – 0:38:32] Erik: Snakebite kit from Coghlan’s t-shirt?
[0:38:33 – 0:38:33] Adam: Guys.
[0:38:33 – 0:38:34] Adam: That’s what I want.
[0:38:35 – 0:38:40] Adam: Norm, if you’re out there, Norm Jr., if you’re listening, tell your dad, get on this.
[0:38:40 – 0:38:40] Adam: Tell your dad.
[0:38:40 – 0:38:41] Erik: This is a great idea.
[0:38:41 – 0:38:42] Erik: Tell your mom.
[0:38:43 – 0:38:49] Adam: I went looking, too, and I found some for like $17.50, but the old school ones in mint condition, $34.99.
[0:38:49 – 0:38:50] Adam: Easy.
[0:38:50 – 0:38:51] Erik: Yeah.
[0:38:51 – 0:38:54] Adam: So then I was like, oh, I was also looking for information.
[0:38:54 – 0:38:55] Erik: I need my specs.
[0:38:55 – 0:38:56] Erik: I just need some info.
[0:38:56 – 0:38:57] Adam: I need the specs.
[0:38:57 – 0:38:59] Adam: I need a little bit more information.
[0:38:59 – 0:39:02] Erik: Couldn’t you just look at one of the eight that we already own?
[0:39:02 – 0:39:04] Adam: So I went out to the tumble shed and I grabbed this one.
[0:39:04 – 0:39:06] Adam: Yeah, we had a couple out there, but I grabbed this one.
[0:39:07 – 0:39:15] Adam: Got the information on it, and then I noticed Eric says below the snake there on the packaging, stay safe, Norm Coghlan.
[0:39:16 – 0:39:16] Erik: Norm.
[0:39:16 – 0:39:17] Erik: Signed.
[0:39:17 – 0:39:20] Adam: Yeah, so we got one signed by Norm, so I took it to the auction house.
[0:39:21 – 0:39:21] Erik: Oh.
[0:39:22 – 0:39:28] Adam: Yeah, it said this is a very rare mint condition signed by Norm Coghlan himself straight out of Manitoba.
[0:39:29 – 0:39:32] Adam: At the right auction, I was told, this could fetch upwards of $35,000.
[0:39:32 – 0:39:37] Erik: Yeah, I was going to say, how much should you insure it for?
[0:39:37 – 0:39:38] Adam: $50,000 it’s insured for now.
[0:39:39 – 0:39:42] Adam: Tumble Home is set for life if the shed ever burns down.
[0:39:42 – 0:39:42] Erik: Nice.
[0:39:42 – 0:39:49] Erik: This wasn’t one of those heirloom products that they’re like, this is amazing, I would love to evaluate it, but it’s based on…
[0:39:49 – 0:39:53] Erik: It’s carved out of ivory, and it represents slavery, so I cannot speak to it.
[0:39:54 – 0:39:54] Adam: I’m sorry.
[0:39:55 – 0:39:59] Adam: No, this one’s definitely a museum-quality piece, he said.
[0:39:59 – 0:39:59] Adam: Yeah, wow.
[0:40:00 – 0:40:05] Adam: And so we’re going to take the advice from the signature here and keep this one safe.
[0:40:06 – 0:40:06] Erik: Okay.
[0:40:06 – 0:40:12] Adam: Also keep ourselves safe in case we ever encounter any cobras on our next trip in the mudro.
[0:40:12 – 0:40:13] Erik: Yeah.
[0:40:13 – 0:40:19] Erik: It’s got the easy to use, what, the instruction booklet, some kind of an antiseptic salve.
[0:40:19 – 0:40:19] Adam: Right, right.
[0:40:20 – 0:40:25] Adam: So it’s got active ingredients, 10% povidone iodone solution USP.
[0:40:25 – 0:40:26] Erik: The suction cups.
[0:40:26 – 0:40:27] Adam: Topical antiseptic.
[0:40:28 – 0:40:30] Adam: Warnings for external use only.
[0:40:31 – 0:40:33] Adam: The lymph constrictor is made in China.
[0:40:34 – 0:40:36] Adam: The suction cups are made in Canada.
[0:40:36 – 0:40:36] Adam: Canada.
[0:40:37 – 0:40:38] Adam: Canada?
[0:40:38 – 0:40:40] Adam: Watch out for a dry feeling in their mouth.
[0:40:41 – 0:40:45] Erik: I love that the back of the package comes with symptoms.
[0:40:45 – 0:40:52] Adam: Inactive ingredients, citric acid, sodium phosphate, and water.
[0:40:52 – 0:40:56] Erik: Usually two small punctures in the skin.
[0:40:56 – 0:41:00] Adam: Reverse cardboard sleeve, then crush at dot between thumb and forefinger.
[0:41:00 – 0:41:04] Adam: Allow solution to saturate tip and apply solution to injury.
[0:41:04 – 0:41:06] Adam: You’re giving away all their secrets.
[0:41:07 – 0:41:10] Adam: That’s why I paid a lot of money to get this one.
[0:41:10 – 0:41:11] Adam: Start room temperature, please.
[0:41:11 – 0:41:21] Erik: Hey, if you’re getting any discoloring in the green or purple realm, you might want to start busting out the antiseptic and the suction cups.
[0:41:22 – 0:41:24] Adam: I dare you to call the questions hotline.
[0:41:25 – 0:41:29] Adam: Questions, call 1-908-362-926.
[0:41:29 – 0:41:32] Adam: Bleep, bleep, bleep.
[0:41:33 – 0:41:35] Erik: They’re only open from 9 to 5 Monday through Friday.
[0:41:35 – 0:41:39] Adam: Yeah, Eastern Standard Time, which makes no sense because Manitoba’s in Mountain Time.
[0:41:40 – 0:41:43] Erik: Well, they like starting late.
[0:41:43 – 0:41:44] Adam: They start a late day.
[0:41:44 – 0:41:47] Adam: This iodine, though, if you notice, is expired.
[0:41:48 – 0:41:50] Erik: Oh, no.
[0:41:50 – 0:41:51] Adam: $4.24.
[0:41:51 – 0:41:56] Adam: So actually, this kit, that I think actually in the collector’s market makes it even more valuable.
[0:41:56 – 0:41:56] Erik: Wow.
[0:41:57 – 0:41:57] Adam: Well, watch those edges.
[0:41:58 – 0:42:00] Adam: It’s unlikely you will actually ever open this now.
[0:42:00 – 0:42:00] Erik: Don’t open it.
[0:42:01 – 0:42:01] Erik: And watch the edges.
[0:42:01 – 0:42:02] Erik: The thing’s in mint condition.
[0:42:02 – 0:42:04] Erik: The thing’s in mint condition.
[0:42:04 – 0:42:09] Adam: Number two snakebite kit is going up against some poor team, and it is the air horn.
[0:42:10 – 0:42:12] Adam: Quote, get you out of trouble.
[0:42:13 – 0:42:14] Erik: Why’d you say it like that?
[0:42:14 – 0:42:15] Adam: Get you.
[0:42:15 – 0:42:17] Adam: Get you out of trouble.
[0:42:17 – 0:42:20] Adam: 115 decibel blast.
[0:42:20 – 0:42:22] Adam: And Eric, you can get up to 70 blast with this unit.
[0:42:23 – 0:42:23] Adam: Yeah.
[0:42:23 – 0:42:24] Adam: Pretty good.
[0:42:25 – 0:42:26] Adam: Pretty good.
[0:42:27 – 0:42:30] Erik: Yeah, I think if I… Looks like they lost, though.
[0:42:30 – 0:42:33] Erik: Yeah, looks like they got smoked.
[0:42:33 – 0:42:34] Erik: Snakebite kit moving on.
[0:42:34 – 0:42:40] Adam: They did get the old 1991 Ross Perot edition snakebite kit.
[0:42:40 – 0:42:43] Erik: Yes, the Ross Perot edition, the black and yellow.
[0:42:43 – 0:42:45] Erik: Yellow has always been key.
[0:42:45 – 0:42:49] Erik: They’ve only recently switched over to the light forest green.
[0:42:49 – 0:42:53] Erik: I wish they would go back to the black, especially for the snake bite kit.
[0:42:53 – 0:42:57] Adam: Yeah, that one looks real menacing, and it does say, please tread on me.
[0:42:58 – 0:42:58] Adam: I don’t like that.
[0:42:59 – 0:43:00] Erik: Please.
[0:43:00 – 0:43:01] Erik: Please.
[0:43:01 – 0:43:02] Erik: Tread on me.
[0:43:02 – 0:43:04] Adam: Please put my mind at ease.
[0:43:05 – 0:43:06] Adam: Pretty please.
[0:43:06 – 0:43:07] Adam: Pretty please.
[0:43:07 – 0:43:08] Adam: Yeah.
[0:43:09 – 0:43:11] Erik: You’re not treading on me.
[0:43:13 – 0:43:13] Adam: Tread harder.
[0:43:14 – 0:43:15] Erik: Tread harder.
[0:43:15 – 0:43:16] Erik: Tread harder, Norm.
[0:43:17 – 0:43:17] Adam: Oh, God.
[0:43:17 – 0:43:17] Adam: Ha!
[0:43:22 – 0:43:22] Adam: Oh, no.
[0:43:23 – 0:43:23] Adam: All right.
[0:43:24 – 0:43:33] Adam: Looks like we got Snakebite Kit versus the Cast Iron Double Broiler, and then the Silicone Handle Grip versus the Tent Whisk and Dustpan.
[0:43:34 – 0:43:35] Erik: It’s a matchup for the ages, both of those.
[0:43:35 – 0:43:40] Adam: That’s some pretty solid matchups in the Elite Eight coming out of the West.
[0:43:40 – 0:43:49] Erik: Yeah, I’m thinking, I’m seeing a silicone handle versus a snake bite kit in my mind, but you never know.
[0:43:49 – 0:43:57] Adam: I want to see that Coghlan’s yellow versus Coghlan’s yellow over there, but I’m not trying to sway the voters too much.
[0:43:57 – 0:44:02] Adam: No, we’re just… We’re just the members of the committee, and the committee is great.
[0:44:02 – 0:44:03] Erik: Impartial reporters.
[0:44:04 – 0:44:05] Erik: This is what we’re happening.
[0:44:05 – 0:44:07] Erik: This is what we’re seeing with our own four eyes.
[0:44:07 – 0:44:13] Adam: The beauty of these shows is the votes are counted and the votes are respected.
[0:44:13 – 0:44:13] Erik: They’re cast.
[0:44:13 – 0:44:14] Adam: In the Coghlan’s Cup.
[0:44:14 – 0:44:15] Erik: Counted.
[0:44:15 – 0:44:18] Adam: And we know they were not submitted by robots.
[0:44:18 – 0:44:20] Adam: We know these were all human vote.
[0:44:20 – 0:44:21] Adam: Thank you.
[0:44:21 – 0:44:22] Adam: All humans.
[0:44:23 – 0:44:26] Adam: We appreciate your time and effort.
[0:44:26 – 0:44:26] Adam: We do.
[0:44:27 – 0:44:27] Adam: And thoughts.
[0:44:27 – 0:44:28] Adam: And thoughts.
[0:44:29 – 0:44:29] Adam: All right.
[0:44:29 – 0:44:31] Adam: You want to take a quick break and then hop into the East?
[0:44:32 – 0:44:33] Erik: I think that’s what’s going to happen.
[0:44:33 – 0:44:35] Erik: Another four matchups to go here.
[0:44:35 – 0:44:37] Erik: We’ll see if we’ve got one upset.
[0:44:37 – 0:44:42] Erik: I wouldn’t necessarily call it a major upset, but an upset nonetheless.
[0:44:42 – 0:44:44] Erik: The Cast Iron Brothers, a six over a three.
[0:44:44 – 0:44:45] Erik: Maybe that was the committee.
[0:44:45 – 0:44:46] Erik: Maybe that was the…
[0:44:47 – 0:44:52] Erik: The noxious mustard gas that settled in over that orphanage.
[0:44:52 – 0:44:58] Erik: Maybe they just didn’t quite have the right thinking on how those teams should have been ranked.
[0:44:59 – 0:45:00] Erik: Maybe they should have been switched.
[0:45:00 – 0:45:02] Erik: But that’s why you play the games.
[0:45:02 – 0:45:03] Adam: That’s why you play the games.
[0:45:03 – 0:45:07] Erik: You can’t blame the producers of the poison yellow smoke.
[0:45:08 – 0:45:12] Erik: It’s just the log you got to put on the fire to determine that the teams are set.
[0:45:12 – 0:45:16] Erik: And we’re going to finish up the other half of this majestic regal.
[0:45:17 – 0:45:40] Erik: tournament in just a second here and we’re back it’s the east nobody knows where these games are played all i know is the final four is going to be played in uh winnipeg heck yeah right in the main showroom we were born here what’s your excuse uh did you hear that from somebody in winnipeg
[0:45:41 – 0:45:45] Erik: I think it’s from The Simpsons, isn’t it?
[0:45:45 – 0:45:47] Erik: Maybe.
[0:45:47 – 0:45:49] Erik: What’s it in reference to?
[0:45:49 – 0:45:50] Erik: I don’t know.
[0:45:50 – 0:45:54] Erik: Oh, is it just a picture of them flying into Winnipeg?
[0:45:54 – 0:45:56] Erik: And it says it under the town name?
[0:45:57 – 0:45:58] Erik: Yeah, I think that is from The Simpsons.
[0:45:58 – 0:45:59] Adam: You can Google that.
[0:46:00 – 0:46:01] Adam: Yeah, I don’t know.
[0:46:01 – 0:46:10] Adam: I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Winnipeg, and I didn’t know at the time that we were visiting Eric that it was the headquarters of Coglins.
[0:46:11 – 0:46:12] Erik: I had no idea at the time either.
[0:46:13 – 0:46:16] Erik: It was pre-podcast?
[0:46:16 – 0:46:18] Erik: What?
[0:46:19 – 0:46:19] Adam: It’s amazing.
[0:46:20 – 0:46:20] Adam: Oh, God.
[0:46:20 – 0:46:21] Erik: Air foaming again.
[0:46:23 – 0:46:24] Adam: Traitors!
[0:46:25 – 0:46:28] Adam: It’s amazing all the things we did before the podcast.
[0:46:30 – 0:46:30] Erik: Oh God.
[0:46:32 – 0:46:33] Erik: Yeah.
[0:46:34 – 0:46:37] Erik: What’s your business in Canada then there, eh?
[0:46:37 – 0:46:41] Erik: Just going up to fly to Winnipeg, going to a hockey game.
[0:46:42 – 0:46:43] Erik: Why don’t you drive?
[0:46:43 – 0:46:44] Erik: Why are you flying?
[0:46:44 – 0:46:46] Erik: Why don’t you just drive?
[0:46:46 – 0:46:48] Erik: It’s January, sir.
[0:46:48 – 0:46:50] Erik: It’s January and it’s 10 hours away.
[0:46:50 – 0:46:51] Adam: And my horse froze to death.
[0:46:52 – 0:46:52] Adam: Yeah.
[0:46:52 – 0:46:56] Erik: I don’t really feel like driving through the plains of Manitoba in the middle of January.
[0:46:56 – 0:47:02] Adam: Manitoba, where all your dreams are coming true.
[0:47:04 – 0:47:07] Adam: Number one seed in the east, east side.
[0:47:07 – 0:47:12] Adam: What’s the river in Winnipeg?
[0:47:12 – 0:47:13] Adam: The French River?
[0:47:13 – 0:47:15] Adam: Yeah, there’s two rivers.
[0:47:15 – 0:47:18] Erik: Remember the confluence?
[0:47:18 – 0:47:19] Erik: Pierre-Luc Dubois.
[0:47:19 – 0:47:24] Adam: Yeah, the Pierre de Luc de Brau River down by the Gandhi statue.
[0:47:24 – 0:47:25] Adam: Yes.
[0:47:26 – 0:47:27] Adam: That’s where these games are being held.
[0:47:27 – 0:47:29] Adam: They’re playing them down on the river.
[0:47:29 – 0:47:31] Adam: They got the rink cleared off down the river.
[0:47:31 – 0:47:35] Erik: They’re just playing them in the main atrium of the Human Atrocity Museum.
[0:47:37 – 0:47:37] Erik: Is that what it is?
[0:47:37 – 0:47:39] Erik: Is this a horrible museum?
[0:47:39 – 0:47:42] Adam: It’s like the Museum of Human Suffering.
[0:47:43 – 0:47:48] Erik: Living in Winnipeg isn’t enough of a suffering?
[0:47:48 – 0:47:50] Erik: I mean, sure, but never forget.
[0:47:51 – 0:47:59] Erik: But that’s a day for a morose crew of middle schoolers on a field trip.
[0:47:59 – 0:48:03] Erik: That’s not for me to take a chunk out of my afternoon.
[0:48:03 – 0:48:05] Adam: Coming at you from the east side of Winnipeg.
[0:48:06 – 0:48:07] Adam: Right next to the Gandhi statue.
[0:48:07 – 0:48:12] Adam: Wasn’t there a bunch of Christmas decor out still?
[0:48:13 – 0:48:14] Adam: Oh yeah, he was festooned.
[0:48:14 – 0:48:15] Adam: He had a wreath around his neck.
[0:48:16 – 0:48:17] Adam: Ice castles.
[0:48:18 – 0:48:19] Erik: It’s the holidays, you know?
[0:48:20 – 0:48:22] Erik: You gotta spruce up the town.
[0:48:22 – 0:48:23] Adam: It’s dark and cold.
[0:48:23 – 0:48:25] Erik: It’s dark and cold.
[0:48:25 – 0:48:31] Erik: If you can’t put a Christmas wreath around Gandhi’s neck next to the Human Atrocity Museum, I don’t know what you can do.
[0:48:31 – 0:48:32] Erik: What’s the point even?
[0:48:32 – 0:48:33] Erik: What’s the point of living?
[0:48:34 – 0:48:36] Adam: Number one seed, egg holder.
[0:48:37 – 0:48:39] Adam: We nominated the two-count.
[0:48:39 – 0:48:42] Adam: The committee nominated the two-count egg holder.
[0:48:42 – 0:48:44] Adam: If it’s just you and your sweetie out there.
[0:48:45 – 0:48:47] Adam: One XL egg for each of us.
[0:48:47 – 0:48:51] Erik: Hey, I just want one egg sandwich, hun.
[0:48:51 – 0:48:52] Erik: That’s all I want.
[0:48:52 – 0:48:53] Adam: A one-egg sandwich.
[0:48:54 – 0:48:59] Adam: Just one egg, an English muffin perfectly toasted in a double broiler.
[0:49:00 – 0:49:00] Adam: Yeah.
[0:49:00 – 0:49:03] Adam: One slice of American cheese and…
[0:49:05 – 0:49:05] Adam: Bacon.
[0:49:06 – 0:49:07] Erik: And bacon.
[0:49:07 – 0:49:08] Adam: And some bacon.
[0:49:08 – 0:49:11] Erik: You can do bacon in the broiler.
[0:49:11 – 0:49:12] Erik: Oh, yeah.
[0:49:12 – 0:49:15] Erik: If that broiler makes it through, that’s key.
[0:49:17 – 0:49:17] Adam: You can do anything in there.
[0:49:17 – 0:49:25] Adam: I’m just picturing throwing a couple pieces of bacon, one sausage patty, and a couple cutlets of ham into the double broiler.
[0:49:25 – 0:49:26] Erik: There you go.
[0:49:26 – 0:49:27] Erik: Save that grease.
[0:49:27 – 0:49:30] Erik: All that grease is going to be draining out of there.
[0:49:30 – 0:49:32] Erik: So sweet and so smooth.
[0:49:32 – 0:49:33] Adam: Wait, we’re talking about the eggs.
[0:49:34 – 0:49:34] UNKNOWN: Yeah.
[0:49:35 – 0:49:37] Adam: We’re just back on the broiler.
[0:49:37 – 0:49:39] Adam: That broiler’s got our hearts, Eric.
[0:49:39 – 0:49:40] Erik: These guys seem like they’re a little skewed.
[0:49:40 – 0:49:49] Erik: They seem like there might be a little bit of fandom coming from these supposedly quote-unquote impartial observers.
[0:49:49 – 0:49:50] Adam: My name is Terry Davenport.
[0:49:51 – 0:50:00] Adam: I’m joined here in Tumble Home Sports Network headquarters with my good dear friend Jim Sofa, and we are impartial commentators on this tournament.
[0:50:00 – 0:50:03] Adam: The egg holder at $349, great value.
[0:50:03 – 0:50:06] Adam: It will, quote, withstand the rigors.
[0:50:07 – 0:50:09] Adam: It’s virtually unbreakable.
[0:50:10 – 0:50:12] Adam: Also, I have a rock fact for you.
[0:50:13 – 0:50:15] Adam: Coughlin’s Yellow is made up entirely of yolks.
[0:50:16 – 0:50:16] Erik: It’s all yolk.
[0:50:17 – 0:50:19] Erik: It’s all spoiled yolks.
[0:50:20 – 0:50:21] Adam: Thermoplastic yolks.
[0:50:21 – 0:50:24] Erik: thermoplastic unspoiled yolks or spoiled yolks.
[0:50:24 – 0:50:26] Adam: That’s how they get that color, yeah.
[0:50:26 – 0:50:27] Erik: That’s yolk color.
[0:50:27 – 0:50:29] Adam: And that’s why it withstands the rigors.
[0:50:29 – 0:50:31] Erik: That’s Canadian yolk, though.
[0:50:31 – 0:50:32] Adam: It’s a good yolk.
[0:50:32 – 0:50:34] Erik: Mexican yolk’s a little bit more orange.
[0:50:35 – 0:50:35] Erik: Oh, yeah.
[0:50:35 – 0:50:37] Erik: American yolks are somewhere in between.
[0:50:37 – 0:50:38] Adam: Huh.
[0:50:39 – 0:50:39] Adam: Huh.
[0:50:39 – 0:50:41] Adam: Is it an equatorial thing or what?
[0:50:41 – 0:50:42] Erik: That’s an equatorial thing.
[0:50:42 – 0:50:42] Erik: Yeah.
[0:50:43 – 0:50:46] Adam: Or is it the heat of the climate?
[0:50:46 – 0:50:48] Erik: It’s the angle of the sun.
[0:50:48 – 0:50:49] Adam: The angle of the sun.
[0:50:50 – 0:50:51] Adam: The sun is yokes.
[0:50:52 – 0:50:53] Erik: Sun is yokes.
[0:50:53 – 0:50:59] Erik: All right, cheers.
[0:50:59 – 0:51:01] Erik: These traders are going down smooth.
[0:51:04 – 0:51:05] Adam: Egg holder.
[0:51:06 – 0:51:08] Adam: It’s the button on the Discord.
[0:51:08 – 0:51:11] Adam: It’s the reason for everything we’re doing here.
[0:51:12 – 0:51:16] Adam: Going up against the… A lot of people are surprised.
[0:51:16 – 0:51:19] Adam: There’s two teams coming out of the Silicon Conference this year.
[0:51:19 – 0:51:20] Adam: I don’t know how that works.
[0:51:20 – 0:51:22] Adam: Number eight seed, Silicon Straws.
[0:51:22 – 0:51:23] Adam: Open down the middle.
[0:51:24 – 0:51:24] Adam: Both of their middles.
[0:51:25 – 0:51:28] Adam: Four nine-inchers in there in a multitude of colors.
[0:51:28 – 0:51:29] Adam: BPA free at $7.99.
[0:51:29 – 0:51:32] Adam: You want to sip your drink from a straw?
[0:51:33 – 0:51:34] Adam: Living a life of luxury in camp.
[0:51:34 – 0:51:37] Adam: I don’t think they have a chance in hell.
[0:51:37 – 0:51:38] Erik: No, no chance.
[0:51:39 – 0:51:41] Adam: I would love to try these out.
[0:51:41 – 0:51:44] Adam: I would love to do a camping trip with a silicone straw kit.
[0:51:44 – 0:51:46] Adam: I’d like to bring them on a rafting trip, actually.
[0:51:46 – 0:51:49] Adam: It would be a really great way to drink and drive a raft.
[0:51:50 – 0:51:56] Erik: That seems like the one thing they could have stepped up their drinking and driving is if there would have been more grafting and drinking.
[0:51:56 – 0:52:02] Adam: Yeah, well, they… Hey, we made it through the most dangerous rapids in the world.
[0:52:02 – 0:52:02] Adam: Let’s pull over.
[0:52:02 – 0:52:03] Adam: Beer time.
[0:52:03 – 0:52:04] Adam: Let’s pull over and have a cocktail.
[0:52:05 – 0:52:07] Erik: It was one of my favorite lines from that movie.
[0:52:07 – 0:52:08] Erik: Beer time?
[0:52:08 – 0:52:11] Erik: There were very few lines from that movie that were memorable at all.
[0:52:11 – 0:52:14] Adam: The movie was pretty bad, but I did laugh like three or four times.
[0:52:14 – 0:52:18] Erik: I did laugh at the, we just made it through the most dangerous rapid in the world, beer time.
[0:52:19 – 0:52:19] Adam: Beer time.
[0:52:19 – 0:52:20] Erik: Yeah.
[0:52:20 – 0:52:25] Erik: And then you could clearly tell Erwin had a bit of a drinking problem because he had no interest in the light beer.
[0:52:26 – 0:52:27] Erik: He needed the hard shit.
[0:52:27 – 0:52:28] Erik: He needed the hard stuff.
[0:52:28 – 0:52:29] Erik: Gin?
[0:52:29 – 0:52:30] Erik: Give me the flask.
[0:52:30 – 0:52:30] Erik: Yeah.
[0:52:32 – 0:52:35] Adam: flask yeah they had backup flasks for their flasks yeah
[0:52:37 – 0:52:38] Erik: Anyway, we’ll get to that.
[0:52:38 – 0:52:45] Erik: We’re going to slowly scroll down here to what we know is going to be the inevitable absolute destruction.
[0:52:45 – 0:52:46] Adam: Egg holders through.
[0:52:46 – 0:52:47] Adam: Oh, my gosh.
[0:52:47 – 0:52:51] Adam: The silicone straws didn’t even get double-digit votes.
[0:52:51 – 0:52:59] Erik: Nine children got online and somehow convinced the algorithm that they were not robots to vote for the silicone straws.
[0:52:59 – 0:53:00] Adam: Yes, sir.
[0:53:00 – 0:53:01] Adam: I am human, too.
[0:53:01 – 0:53:02] Adam: I love straws.
[0:53:02 – 0:53:04] Adam: I don’t know what eggs are.
[0:53:04 – 0:53:05] Erik: Get on your computer, boy.
[0:53:05 – 0:53:07] Erik: We need another IP address.
[0:53:07 – 0:53:09] Erik: We got to pump these silicone straw numbers.
[0:53:09 – 0:53:12] Adam: This is a blowout of epic proportions.
[0:53:12 – 0:53:14] Adam: The egg holders got 70 votes to nine.
[0:53:15 – 0:53:15] Adam: Yeah.
[0:53:16 – 0:53:16] Adam: Oh, my.
[0:53:17 – 0:53:19] Adam: At least they got more votes than their seeding.
[0:53:20 – 0:53:23] Adam: I guess that would be… You get two votes for each straw, Eric.
[0:53:23 – 0:53:25] Adam: Yeah, you get banned forever.
[0:53:25 – 0:53:26] Erik: Lifetime ban.
[0:53:27 – 0:53:28] Adam: These are nine-inch straws.
[0:53:28 – 0:53:30] Adam: You got nine votes for these nine-inchers.
[0:53:30 – 0:53:32] Adam: A vote for an inch.
[0:53:32 – 0:53:33] Adam: All right.
[0:53:33 – 0:53:34] Adam: Well, the egg holders are through.
[0:53:34 – 0:53:35] Adam: No surprises here.
[0:53:36 – 0:53:41] Adam: And thank you for your great effort, silicone straws.
[0:53:42 – 0:53:42] Adam: Yeah.
[0:53:42 – 0:53:45] Adam: You were open from both ends and down the middle.
[0:53:45 – 0:53:46] Adam: Wow.
[0:53:46 – 0:53:47] Adam: And through all of your holes.
[0:53:48 – 0:53:48] Erik: Oh, God.
[0:53:51 – 0:53:55] Adam: All right, moving on to the next matchup.
[0:53:55 – 0:53:56] Adam: We got the 4-5.
[0:53:57 – 0:54:00] Adam: Going to be a doozy here.
[0:54:00 – 0:54:03] Adam: We got the Bug Jacket at $19.99.
[0:54:04 – 0:54:05] Adam: Eric’s shaking his head.
[0:54:05 – 0:54:08] Adam: 1,600 holes per square inch, Eric.
[0:54:08 – 0:54:09] Adam: What do you think about that?
[0:54:10 – 0:54:10] Adam: I don’t believe it.
[0:54:11 – 0:54:12] Adam: That’s a lot of holes.
[0:54:12 – 0:54:14] Adam: I feel like you made that up.
[0:54:14 – 0:54:15] Adam: That’s straight off the specs.
[0:54:16 – 0:54:16] Adam: Wow.
[0:54:16 – 0:54:18] Adam: Yeah, I’m just going off the specs.
[0:54:18 – 0:54:18] Adam: 1,600 holes?
[0:54:19 – 0:54:20] Adam: 1,600 holes per square inch.
[0:54:21 – 0:54:22] Erik: That doesn’t seem possible.
[0:54:22 – 0:54:25] Adam: What kind of thread count are these?
[0:54:25 – 0:54:27] Adam: Egyptian bug jackets?
[0:54:27 – 0:54:27] Adam: What’s going on?
[0:54:28 – 0:54:32] Erik: 800 holes in a single straight line of an inch?
[0:54:32 – 0:54:34] Adam: How many square inches are these bug jackets?
[0:54:34 – 0:54:35] Adam: They include a hood.
[0:54:35 – 0:54:37] Adam: I mean, how many holes are in this coat?
[0:54:38 – 0:54:38] Adam: It’s not a coat.
[0:54:39 – 0:54:39] Adam: It’s a jacket.
[0:54:39 – 0:54:41] Erik: It’s almost like it’s just a full jacket.
[0:54:41 – 0:54:42] Erik: Or a blazer, really.
[0:54:42 – 0:54:44] Erik: You can also just wear a jacket.
[0:54:44 – 0:54:48] Adam: You could just do that, but then you wouldn’t be able to show off your cool t-shirt.
[0:54:49 – 0:54:54] Adam: I mean, I did spend a bunch of money on this sick graphic tee.
[0:54:54 – 0:54:55] Adam: I thought so.
[0:54:55 – 0:54:56] Adam: I want my friends to see it.
[0:54:57 – 0:55:07] Adam: It’s got the zippered face access, too, which is really handy for when you want to stick a straw in there, have a sippier cold beverage.
[0:55:07 – 0:55:12] Erik: That would be a good combo, the silicone straw with the zippered gimp mask.
[0:55:12 – 0:55:14] Adam: I don’t care that they only got nine votes.
[0:55:14 – 0:55:15] Adam: I still want to buy some.
[0:55:15 – 0:55:20] Erik: Yeah, no, I would love to zip the hole down tight onto a straw and still be able to drink.
[0:55:22 – 0:55:22] Adam: Yep.
[0:55:22 – 0:55:26] Erik: The only way mosquitoes are getting in here is if they get in this straw hole.
[0:55:26 – 0:55:27] Erik: Yeah.
[0:55:27 – 0:55:31] Adam: Do you think mosquitoes are smart enough to go through the middle of a straw?
[0:55:31 – 0:55:37] Erik: Well, I mean, I feel like it’s only going to end to their demise unless there’s some internal blood sucking that can happen.
[0:55:37 – 0:55:37] Adam: That’s troubling.
[0:55:38 – 0:55:39] Adam: Yeah, they’re going to get sucked right up.
[0:55:39 – 0:55:46] Adam: And they’re going against, I would say, one of the darlings of the tournament, the number five seed Pack Axe.
[0:55:47 – 0:56:11] Erik: the baby 2199 the baby pack eggs these are pretty expensive items here in the four or five matchup 50 to 55 mkc hrq carbon blazed edging it’s a must-have tool must have must have for when you need for when you only have one match stick left and you need to make it that’s right two fires and you need to split it in half
[0:56:11 – 0:56:18] Adam: You know, my favorite part about camping is when you just light a match on somebody’s face to light your stogie.
[0:56:18 – 0:56:19] Erik: Classic move.
[0:56:20 – 0:56:23] Adam: Yeah, it’s a classic move, especially if you’re on a rafting trip.
[0:56:23 – 0:56:34] Erik: I would love somebody to go through all of film history and compile, because this isn’t a one-off.
[0:56:34 – 0:56:35] Erik: This happens.
[0:56:35 – 0:56:35] Erik: Yeah.
[0:56:35 – 0:56:38] Adam: Like striking a match on an unusual surface?
[0:56:38 – 0:56:48] Erik: No, lighting a match off of somebody’s face in form of a rebuke of some form.
[0:56:49 – 0:56:58] Erik: It’s very humiliating if somebody lights a match off you, especially if you just got walloped or fell into a pit of snakes, and then the guy just kind of bends over.
[0:56:58 – 0:57:02] Adam: You’re in a hibernaculum, and somebody just lights a match right off your buddy’s face.
[0:57:03 – 0:57:05] Erik: right off your five o’clock shadow.
[0:57:05 – 0:57:06] Adam: That’s not great.
[0:57:06 – 0:57:07] Adam: Maybe get a better razor.
[0:57:08 – 0:57:13] Erik: Honestly, I would be impressed if I was the man in the snake pit, though, if somebody lit a match off of my face.
[0:57:14 – 0:57:16] Adam: Doesn’t happen enough this day and age.
[0:57:16 – 0:57:16] Adam: No.
[0:57:17 – 0:57:18] Adam: Not enough matches out there.
[0:57:18 – 0:57:21] Erik: There wasn’t enough of that in either of the dunes.
[0:57:22 – 0:57:22] Erik: I know.
[0:57:22 – 0:57:25] Erik: I need Paul Atreides to be lighting more matches off of.
[0:57:26 – 0:57:27] Erik: Off the worm.
[0:57:27 – 0:57:30] Erik: One of the Harkas, the bad, the big bald baddies.
[0:57:30 – 0:57:31] Erik: I need some more.
[0:57:31 – 0:57:32] Erik: Or off the worm.
[0:57:32 – 0:57:33] Erik: Off the worm.
[0:57:33 – 0:57:34] Erik: Just as it goes by.
[0:57:35 – 0:57:36] Adam: Tremors.
[0:57:36 – 0:57:40] Erik: No, you don’t get into the club by riding it.
[0:57:41 – 0:57:46] Erik: You get into the club by lighting a match as it goes by and real coolly lighten up.
[0:57:47 – 0:57:47] Erik: Parliament light.
[0:57:49 – 0:57:49] Adam: Yeah.
[0:57:49 – 0:57:50] Adam: It’s a P-Funk.
[0:57:50 – 0:57:50] Erik: Yeah.
[0:57:52 – 0:57:53] Adam: 50 to 55 HRC hardened edges.
[0:57:53 – 0:57:53] Adam: Yeah.
[0:57:53 – 0:57:54] Adam: I already said that.
[0:57:54 – 0:57:54] Adam: 10 incher.
[0:58:01 – 0:58:02] Adam: Say hello to my little friend.
[0:58:03 – 0:58:04] Adam: Is he going to get through?
[0:58:04 – 0:58:06] Erik: I can see this one going either way.
[0:58:06 – 0:58:08] Adam: This one could go either way.
[0:58:08 – 0:58:09] Adam: The bug jacket’s through.
[0:58:09 – 0:58:11] Adam: The bug jacket makes it through.
[0:58:11 – 0:58:12] Adam: Oh, 57 to 30.
[0:58:12 – 0:58:13] Adam: Kind of close.
[0:58:14 – 0:58:14] Adam: I don’t know.
[0:58:14 – 0:58:16] Adam: How do you not vote for that cute little pack axe?
[0:58:16 – 0:58:17] Adam: Yeah, I know.
[0:58:17 – 0:58:21] Adam: Well, vote for the cute little model wearing the bug jacket there.
[0:58:22 – 0:58:23] Adam: He’s a good lad.
[0:58:23 – 0:58:26] Adam: All right, so it’s chalk so far.
[0:58:26 – 0:58:27] Adam: One and the four are through.
[0:58:29 – 0:58:31] Adam: Coming up, we have two more matchups.
[0:58:31 – 0:58:36] Erik: This is the one that you’re least excited for, I can imagine, because you might see the demise of your tube tent.
[0:58:36 – 0:58:40] Adam: Yeah, but I also can sleep in the recycling tub either way.
[0:58:40 – 0:58:42] Adam: I’m going to have a cool thing to sleep in.
[0:58:42 – 0:58:44] Adam: But yeah, I have a lot.
[0:58:44 – 0:58:50] Adam: I’m pretty excited for the tube tent, if anybody can understand where I’m coming from on this one.
[0:58:50 – 0:58:52] Erik: It’s basically tube tent versus tube.
[0:58:53 – 0:58:55] Adam: It’s tube tent versus a actual tube.
[0:58:56 – 0:58:59] Adam: Tube tent, which is a triangle, versus a real tube.
[0:59:00 – 0:59:02] Adam: Tube tent, the three-seat at $999.
[0:59:02 – 0:59:14] Adam: It’s coming with a free pack of yellow tent pegs, and you have to provide your own P-cord, though, because the cordage they’ve included is not looking great.
[0:59:14 – 0:59:18] Erik: How much time does pop-up recycling take to spring?
[0:59:18 – 0:59:28] Adam: Spring-loaded, collapsible, with a zip-top pop-up recycling bin, 29.5 gallons of capacity for all your recycled goods, $19.99.
[0:59:29 – 0:59:31] Adam: Oh, it’s $20.
[0:59:31 – 0:59:32] Adam: It’s $10 more than the tube tent.
[0:59:33 – 0:59:39] Erik: If it was cheaper, if it was $4 or $5, I’d be like, just buy two pop-up recycling bins.
[0:59:39 – 0:59:40] Adam: We talked about that, yeah.
[0:59:41 – 0:59:42] Erik: And then just cozy up in that.
[0:59:44 – 0:59:51] Adam: The tube tent says it provides reliable protection, though, Jim.
[0:59:52 – 0:59:55] Adam: And you can’t undervalue that.
[0:59:55 – 1:00:00] Adam: My main problem with it was there’s no way to protect against the bugs once you’re in the tube.
[1:00:01 – 1:00:07] Adam: Either way, at least with the recycling tub, you can zip the lid or zip it to another tub.
[1:00:08 – 1:00:13] Adam: But, yeah, spring-coiled, spring-loaded coils.
[1:00:14 – 1:00:16] Adam: I think if you got… That’s why it’s an extra $10.
[1:00:17 – 1:00:17] Erik: I think.
[1:00:18 – 1:00:22] Erik: And the tops zip off, right?
[1:00:22 – 1:00:22] Adam: Yeah.
[1:00:22 – 1:00:24] Adam: That’s what I’m saying.
[1:00:25 – 1:00:26] Adam: Zip it to zips.
[1:00:26 – 1:00:27] Erik: You buy two of these things.
[1:00:27 – 1:00:28] Adam: That’s what we’re saying.
[1:00:28 – 1:00:33] Erik: You tape them or sew them or glue them or weld them together.
[1:00:33 – 1:00:34] Erik: And then you got the zip top.
[1:00:35 – 1:00:36] Adam: There you go.
[1:00:36 – 1:00:37] Erik: Put a sleeping pad in there.
[1:00:37 – 1:00:38] Erik: Throw a sleeping bag in there.
[1:00:39 – 1:00:41] Adam: Go climb in any old culvert.
[1:00:44 – 1:00:45] Adam: Culvert warmies.
[1:00:46 – 1:00:47] Erik: It sounds like a $40 tent.
[1:00:48 – 1:00:49] Adam: That sounds pretty sweet.
[1:00:49 – 1:00:51] Adam: Sounds like a pretty sweet deal, Wade.
[1:00:51 – 1:00:52] Erik: Yeah, I mean, it’s spring-loaded.
[1:00:52 – 1:00:57] Erik: I could see myself hiking the Pacific Crest Trail.
[1:00:57 – 1:01:00] Erik: What about just like… You’re alone.
[1:01:00 – 1:01:00] Erik: Right.
[1:01:00 – 1:01:02] Erik: You’ve got to just really think about these things.
[1:01:02 – 1:01:05] Erik: You’re shaving off chunks of deodorant sticks.
[1:01:05 – 1:01:13] Adam: I’m pretty sure that’s what Reese Witherspoon slept in in the movie Wild, which is on the whiteboard and has yet to been watched.
[1:01:16 – 1:01:21] Erik: I could use anything at this point to wash the taste of up the river.
[1:01:22 – 1:01:23] Adam: Without a paddle.
[1:01:25 – 1:01:26] Adam: Without a paddle.
[1:01:26 – 1:01:28] Erik: The song is probably better.
[1:01:28 – 1:01:30] Erik: You can just listen to the song.
[1:01:30 – 1:01:32] Erik: Just listen to the song.
[1:01:33 – 1:01:35] Adam: Put my mind at ease.
[1:01:38 – 1:01:40] Adam: Pretty please.
[1:01:41 – 1:01:41] Adam: Wait for it.
[1:01:41 – 1:01:45] Erik: I would love a night in a recycling tube tent.
[1:01:46 – 1:01:49] Adam: I need your hands on me.
[1:01:50 – 1:01:52] Adam: Sweet release.
[1:01:53 – 1:01:54] Adam: Tube tent’s through.
[1:01:55 – 1:01:56] Erik: Tube tent is through.
[1:01:56 – 1:01:57] Adam: Squeaks by.
[1:01:57 – 1:02:00] Adam: That was probably the closest vote yet.
[1:02:00 – 1:02:00] Erik: 36.
[1:02:06 – 1:02:09] Adam: Well, just think about all the recycling you could actually put in there too.
[1:02:10 – 1:02:13] Adam: Didn’t even really highlight the value of it for its primary function.
[1:02:15 – 1:02:18] Adam: But it would be really handy to have one of those on a camping trip for sure.
[1:02:20 – 1:02:22] Adam: Tube tents through somehow.
[1:02:22 – 1:02:26] Adam: I think I maybe swayed some voters there.
[1:02:26 – 1:02:27] Adam: I stand by it.
[1:02:27 – 1:02:29] Adam: I would love to spend a night in a tube tent.
[1:02:30 – 1:02:31] Adam: Final matchup, Eric.
[1:02:31 – 1:02:32] Adam: Who do you think you got here?
[1:02:32 – 1:02:35] Adam: Boda bag versus the plasma lighter and fire paste.
[1:02:36 – 1:02:37] Adam: Actually, I did look it up.
[1:02:37 – 1:02:38] Adam: There is no fire paste.
[1:02:39 – 1:02:40] Adam: Fire sticks.
[1:02:40 – 1:02:41] Erik: Ferris Dix.
[1:02:41 – 1:02:42] Erik: Who makes the fire paste?
[1:02:42 – 1:02:43] Adam: I don’t know.
[1:02:43 – 1:02:43] Adam: Somebody else.
[1:02:44 – 1:02:44] Adam: Coleman.
[1:02:44 – 1:02:46] Erik: Coghlan’s knockoff?
[1:02:46 – 1:02:46] Adam: Coleman.
[1:02:47 – 1:02:47] Adam: Yeah.
[1:02:47 – 1:02:48] Erik: We should do a tier.
[1:02:48 – 1:02:50] Erik: You know, everybody’s got the whole, like, tiers.
[1:02:51 – 1:02:53] Erik: S tier.
[1:02:53 – 1:02:55] Erik: That’s S tier, whatever that means.
[1:02:56 – 1:02:57] Adam: I don’t know what that means.
[1:02:57 – 1:02:58] Erik: Yeah.
[1:02:59 – 1:03:00] Erik: S is good.
[1:03:00 – 1:03:01] Erik: I don’t know why S is good.
[1:03:01 – 1:03:03] Erik: Tumblehomecats at gmail.com.
[1:03:03 – 1:03:04] Adam: Premium.
[1:03:04 – 1:03:05] Erik: Why is the S tier the best one?
[1:03:05 – 1:03:06] Erik: What does it stand for?
[1:03:07 – 1:03:07] Erik: Super good?
[1:03:08 – 1:03:09] Adam: Stupendous.
[1:03:11 – 1:03:12] Adam: Yeah, like ironic.
[1:03:17 – 1:03:21] Erik: The plasma lighter, it’s fun, it’s cool, but it’s all going…
[1:03:22 – 1:03:25] Adam: This one is easily the most expensive matchup of the night.
[1:03:26 – 1:03:35] Adam: The Boda bag, .5-gallon Boda bag with traditional Spanish wineskin, rugged leather exterior, and hair interior.
[1:03:36 – 1:03:37] Adam: That’s right.
[1:03:37 – 1:03:38] Adam: $22.49.
[1:03:38 – 1:03:41] Adam: Going up against the plasma lighter at $21.99.
[1:03:42 – 1:03:45] Adam: And we’re throwing in a free pack of fire sticks to…
[1:03:47 – 1:03:54] Adam: You’re going to want to stick your ceramic-coated electrodes right on that and hold that button for seven seconds.
[1:03:54 – 1:03:58] Adam: That’s windproof plasma arcs, and you got yourself a guaranteed fire.
[1:03:59 – 1:04:03] Adam: I’m so excited for that one, but it’s almost too nice to be a Coghlan’s product is my thinking.
[1:04:03 – 1:04:06] Erik: Almost too nice, and also just seeing just the memes.
[1:04:07 – 1:04:08] Erik: It’s going to be Weinberg.
[1:04:10 – 1:04:23] Adam: yeah i still think it’s funny though that the plasma lighter got court ordered to coach the fire stick team out of district five into the tournament and uh just like uh
[1:04:25 – 1:04:26] Adam: Just like the Mighty Ducks.
[1:04:26 – 1:04:27] Adam: It’s not going to end well.
[1:04:28 – 1:04:28] Adam: I don’t think.
[1:04:28 – 1:04:30] Adam: But we can always dream and hope.
[1:04:31 – 1:04:36] Erik: The old skate sharpener is rolling over in his grave.
[1:04:36 – 1:04:40] Adam: I can’t believe it also just comes with a little LED light.
[1:04:40 – 1:04:43] Adam: And they claim you can play a game of checkers by it or something.
[1:04:43 – 1:04:43] Adam: Come on.
[1:04:44 – 1:04:44] Erik: It’s like the thing.
[1:04:45 – 1:04:46] Adam: You always have to have an extra thing.
[1:04:46 – 1:04:48] Erik: Hey, it’s not just a compass.
[1:04:48 – 1:04:50] Erik: It’s a compass and a whistle.
[1:04:50 – 1:04:52] Erik: Hey, it’s not just a…
[1:04:52 – 1:04:52] Erik: Right.
[1:04:52 – 1:04:54] Erik: It’s not just an air horn.
[1:04:54 – 1:04:58] Erik: It’s an air horn and a slingshot.
[1:04:58 – 1:05:00] Erik: Hey, it’s not just a…
[1:05:00 – 1:05:01] Erik: It’s also a thermometer.
[1:05:01 – 1:05:02] Erik: It’s not just a…
[1:05:04 – 1:05:04] Adam: Obviously.
[1:05:05 – 1:05:18] Adam: And also, as much as we made fun of Coach Karabiner, who is retired, and we shouldn’t be making fun of an old man like that, no products with a Karabiner actually made it through into the Sweet 16, let alone into the Elite 8.
[1:05:18 – 1:05:19] Erik: That’s fine.
[1:05:19 – 1:05:20] Erik: That’s where I was also going.
[1:05:22 – 1:05:23] Adam: Yeah.
[1:05:23 – 1:05:23] Adam: It’s 2024.
[1:05:23 – 1:05:25] Adam: We don’t need any more goddamn carabiners.
[1:05:25 – 1:05:30] Erik: Air boots, but they’ve also each got their own individual carabiner on the back for him.
[1:05:30 – 1:05:33] Adam: Although a carabiner wouldn’t hurt half of these products.
[1:05:33 – 1:05:34] Adam: It would definitely be nice.
[1:05:34 – 1:05:36] Adam: So bring your own carabiner, I guess.
[1:05:36 – 1:05:37] Adam: B-O-A-O-B.
[1:05:37 – 1:05:37] Adam: B-O-A-O-C.
[1:05:41 – 1:05:45] Adam: O-C. Bring it up.
[1:05:45 – 1:05:46] Adam: It’s the Boda bag.
[1:05:46 – 1:05:48] Erik: It was closer than I thought.
[1:05:48 – 1:05:49] Adam: Wow.
[1:05:49 – 1:05:51] Adam: Plasma later did get some votes there.
[1:05:51 – 1:05:54] Adam: One less than the pop-up recycler, though.
[1:05:55 – 1:05:57] Adam: 57 to 35.
[1:05:58 – 1:06:03] Adam: Boatabag .52 gallon wine sack going up against the tube tent.
[1:06:04 – 1:06:07] Adam: That could be a fun match up there.
[1:06:08 – 1:06:09] Adam: Yeah.
[1:06:09 – 1:06:12] Adam: You could just take those two items and ride off into the sunset.
[1:06:12 – 1:06:14] Adam: I think you’d be sitting pretty good.
[1:06:14 – 1:06:17] UNKNOWN: Yeah, just jump on the back of a Harley with some creep and, yeah.
[1:06:19 – 1:06:20] Erik: Ride off into the sunrise.
[1:06:21 – 1:06:22] Adam: You long-haired hippies.
[1:06:24 – 1:06:24] Erik: Need not apologize.
[1:06:25 – 1:06:26] Adam: Don’t even think about it.
[1:06:26 – 1:06:31] Adam: You can just drive your stupid motorcycle, easy rider style, all the way down to New Orleans.
[1:06:31 – 1:06:32] Erik: Well, we’re down to eight.
[1:06:32 – 1:06:34] Adam: We’re down to the final eight.
[1:06:35 – 1:06:37] Erik: One person has voted so far somehow.
[1:06:37 – 1:06:37] Adam: What?
[1:06:37 – 1:06:39] Adam: They were ready.
[1:06:42 – 1:06:42] Adam: How did that happen?
[1:06:43 – 1:06:43] Adam: That’s great.
[1:06:44 – 1:06:44] Erik: So it’s the same link.
[1:06:44 – 1:06:44] Erik: Yes?
[1:06:44 – 1:06:45] Erik: Okay.
[1:06:45 – 1:06:45] Erik: Yeah.
[1:06:45 – 1:06:46] Erik: You are allowed to vote as many times as you want.
[1:06:46 – 1:06:47] Erik: If you’re a human.
[1:06:47 – 1:06:47] Erik: Alright.
[1:06:47 – 1:06:49] Adam: The link remains the same.
[1:07:08 – 1:07:12] Erik: I’ll post it again just to make sure we get some active engagement.
[1:07:13 – 1:07:16] Erik: The first round is always the hottest and heaviest of people getting involved.
[1:07:16 – 1:07:19] Erik: If we’ve learned anything from any of our tumble journeys and our voting experiences.
[1:07:21 – 1:07:25] Adam: Yeah, a lot of dreams get crushed in the first round.
[1:07:26 – 1:07:30] Adam: And people don’t want to come back and vote once the extendable fire poker is out.
[1:07:30 – 1:07:32] Adam: And they’re like, oh, I’ve had it.
[1:07:32 – 1:07:33] Erik: Well, my team lost.
[1:07:33 – 1:07:34] Erik: I don’t want to watch.
[1:07:34 – 1:07:35] Adam: I don’t want anybody else to win.
[1:07:36 – 1:07:38] Erik: My food cover and food rug’s out.
[1:07:38 – 1:07:40] Erik: I’m also out.
[1:07:40 – 1:07:40] Erik: I’m done.
[1:07:41 – 1:07:42] Erik: I’m done until next year.
[1:07:43 – 1:07:44] Erik: See what they do in the offseason.
[1:07:44 – 1:07:44] Erik: I don’t care.
[1:07:45 – 1:07:46] Erik: Run it back.
[1:07:46 – 1:07:46] Erik: Whatever.
[1:07:47 – 1:07:47] Erik: Fire the coach.
[1:07:47 – 1:07:49] Adam: They need a new defensive coordinator.
[1:07:51 – 1:07:54] Adam: Get a new Zamboni out there for one.
[1:07:55 – 1:07:57] Adam: The strength and conditioning coach needs to be fired.
[1:07:58 – 1:08:01] UNKNOWN: How do you go one for 21 on the power play?
[1:08:05 – 1:08:06] Adam: You guys weren’t even betting against yourselves.
[1:08:07 – 1:08:08] Adam: You just are horrible at the power play.
[1:08:08 – 1:08:08] Adam: Yeah.
[1:08:08 – 1:08:09] Adam: You just got to learn to win.
[1:08:09 – 1:08:09] Adam: You can do it in the regular season.
[1:08:09 – 1:08:10] Adam: Move the biscuit.
[1:08:10 – 1:08:11] Adam: You just can’t do it in the postseason.
[1:08:11 – 1:08:14] Adam: Who are you guys talking about?
[1:08:14 – 1:08:22] Adam: We’re talking about specific NHL teams.
[1:08:22 – 1:08:24] Adam: No, we’re talking about the food cover and food road.
[1:08:24 – 1:08:25] Erik: Disappointment as usual.
[1:08:27 – 1:08:30] Adam: It’s hard to score a goal when the puck is under a food cover.
[1:08:30 – 1:08:31] Adam: Yeah, I guess.
[1:08:31 – 1:08:32] UNKNOWN: Maybe it’ll never happen for them if that’s the case.
[1:08:34 – 1:08:45] Erik: Second round matchup, we’ve got Tentwisk and Dustpan going head-to-head, squaring off against the silicone handles in red.
[1:08:45 – 1:08:47] Adam: I own both those products.
[1:08:47 – 1:08:48] Adam: That one’s going to be tough to vote on.
[1:08:48 – 1:08:52] Erik: The only upset of the first round, right?
[1:08:52 – 1:08:53] Adam: That’s right.
[1:08:59 – 1:09:00] Adam: Double-eyed.
[1:09:01 – 1:09:09] Erik: That guy looks like he needs to eat a couple extra large eggs, Eric.
[1:09:22 – 1:09:23] Adam: Stand up straight.
[1:09:28 – 1:09:28] Adam: I am a human.
[1:09:28 – 1:09:32] Adam: Don’t let the guy wearing the bug jacket vote in the next round.
[1:09:32 – 1:09:33] Adam: Clearly not a human.
[1:09:36 – 1:09:37] Adam: He’s an automaton.
[1:09:40 – 1:09:40] Erik: With the pegs.
[1:09:41 – 1:09:43] Adam: Yeah, we get the pegs included.
[1:09:43 – 1:09:48] Adam: Yeah, what kind of wine are you putting in that thing?
[1:09:48 – 1:09:48] Adam: Yeah.
[1:09:53 – 1:09:54] Adam: It could be.
[1:09:55 – 1:09:56] Adam: Oh, no, it couldn’t be, yeah.
[1:09:56 – 1:09:58] Erik: It’s probably what the next round is going to be.
[1:09:58 – 1:10:02] Erik: It’s going to be snakebite kit and silicone handle snakebite kit.
[1:10:02 – 1:10:05] Adam: I only have three items left with the Coglins yellow on them, too.
[1:10:07 – 1:10:10] Adam: More yolks, less snacks.
[1:10:10 – 1:10:11] Erik: It’s the year of the yolk.
[1:10:13 – 1:10:17] UNKNOWN: We’re all on team yolk, and as we’ve learned, sun is yolk.
[1:10:18 – 1:10:19] Adam: Yeah, sun is yolk.
[1:10:22 – 1:10:23] Adam: All right.
[1:10:25 – 1:10:39] Adam: And that concludes our Sweet 16 coverage from the Coglins Cup, the 42nd annual Coglins Cup, coming to you live from Studio V. And we’re going to take a quick break and hear a message from our sponsors.
[1:10:39 – 1:10:44] Adam: And then I’m being told we have a program called Tumble Home coming up next.
[1:10:44 – 1:10:47] Adam: A program called Tumble Home?
[1:10:47 – 1:10:50] Adam: Programming brought to you by Tumble Home Incorporated.
[1:11:31 – 1:11:37] Erik: Hello Bonjour My name’s Adam Hello Chard Corpses Chard Corpses Would you all please quit stalling and get to the plant
[1:12:00 – 1:12:01] Adam: Quit stalling already.
[1:12:01 – 1:12:10] Adam: It’s an hour and 12 minutes into the episode, and we’re finally getting to the meat, which is the question of the year, of course.
[1:12:10 – 1:12:13] Adam: The Q-O-T-Y.
[1:12:13 – 1:12:15] Adam: That spells Cotty.
[1:12:16 – 1:12:17] Adam: Episode 246, Cotty time.
[1:12:17 – 1:12:18] Adam: Cotty time.
[1:12:18 – 1:12:20] Erik: We’re going way ahead.
[1:12:20 – 1:12:21] Erik: Next time, a different panel.
[1:12:21 – 1:12:22] UNKNOWN: Is it bladed?
[1:12:22 – 1:12:22] UNKNOWN: Is it not?
[1:12:22 – 1:12:23] UNKNOWN: Stab a guy.
[1:12:23 – 1:12:23] UNKNOWN: Stab a raft.
[1:12:25 – 1:12:26] Adam: Stab a raft.
[1:12:27 – 1:12:28] Erik: Blow up a raft.
[1:12:28 – 1:12:29] Adam: Cotty potty.
[1:12:30 – 1:12:31] UNKNOWN: The cotty potty.
[1:12:33 – 1:12:33] Adam: Yeah.
[1:12:34 – 1:12:37] Adam: Going to win this one for the Virginia Military Institute.
[1:12:38 – 1:12:38] Erik: Yep.
[1:12:40 – 1:12:42] Erik: Those boys didn’t know what they were doing.
[1:12:42 – 1:12:47] Erik: I don’t know how they won three championships in a row rafting on that river like they did.
[1:12:49 – 1:12:50] Erik: Military boys.
[1:12:50 – 1:12:51] UNKNOWN: I don’t know what’s going on.
[1:12:52 – 1:12:54] Erik: Disqualified even before the race started.
[1:12:55 – 1:12:55] Adam: Yeah.
[1:12:55 – 1:12:57] Adam: We’re not out of this race, though.
[1:13:01 – 1:13:02] Adam: Boil it and blow it up.
[1:13:03 – 1:13:04] Erik: Boil it and blow it up.
[1:13:06 – 1:13:07] Erik: What is this?
[1:13:07 – 1:13:10] Erik: The 42nd?
[1:13:10 – 1:13:11] Adam: 42nd annual question of the year.
[1:13:12 – 1:13:17] Erik: Question of the annual?
[1:13:19 – 1:13:19] UNKNOWN: Annual.
[1:13:22 – 1:13:23] Adam: Where are you going?
[1:13:23 – 1:13:23] Adam: I don’t know.
[1:13:24 – 1:13:24] Adam: Where are we going?
[1:13:25 – 1:13:25] Adam: I don’t know.
[1:13:26 – 1:13:26] Adam: Are we going to make it to Mudro?
[1:13:26 – 1:13:27] Adam: Probably not.
[1:13:27 – 1:13:28] Adam: What’s in the bingo hopper?
[1:13:32 – 1:13:33] Adam: Maybe trout.
[1:13:33 – 1:13:33] Erik: Maybe.
[1:13:33 – 1:13:35] Erik: Maybe.
[1:13:36 – 1:13:46] Erik: Get a little suck my wake tow out to the portage and then ride a go-kart across a motorized portage.
[1:13:46 – 1:13:47] Adam: Take some jet skis.
[1:13:47 – 1:13:53] Erik: And then get on an airboat and go slaughter some gators.
[1:13:54 – 1:13:54] Erik: Love it.
[1:13:54 – 1:13:55] Erik: And then get on another portage.
[1:13:55 – 1:13:57] Erik: And then you’re kind of in the boundary waters.
[1:13:57 – 1:14:00] Erik: That’s what the trout lake entry point looks like to me.
[1:14:02 – 1:14:03] Adam: Yeah, I don’t know.
[1:14:03 – 1:14:05] Adam: I don’t think you could legally take a jet ski, though.
[1:14:06 – 1:14:06] UNKNOWN: Yeah.
[1:14:07 – 1:14:08] Adam: Maybe do a couple ramps.
[1:14:09 – 1:14:09] Erik: Yeah.
[1:14:10 – 1:14:12] Erik: I think we should just go, let’s just go full Lackner.
[1:14:12 – 1:14:15] Erik: See how far into the park we can get on jet skis.
[1:14:16 – 1:14:16] Adam: Barney.
[1:14:17 – 1:14:18] Erik: Yeah.
[1:14:18 – 1:14:21] Erik: Your jet ski is called Barney.
[1:14:23 – 1:14:24] Adam: Your jet ski is named Lackner.
[1:14:24 – 1:14:28] Adam: Yeah.
[1:14:28 – 1:14:30] UNKNOWN: We don’t need to do any more terrorizing of anybody else.
[1:14:32 – 1:14:36] Adam: Yeah, it’s not funny.
[1:14:38 – 1:14:39] Adam: They’re dead now.
[1:14:39 – 1:14:40] Adam: They can’t hurt us anymore.
[1:14:40 – 1:14:40] UNKNOWN: Yeah.
[1:14:41 – 1:14:43] Adam: Rest in peace, you piece of ass.
[1:14:46 – 1:14:51] Erik: Number one comment.
[1:14:52 – 1:14:53] Erik: That might be the highest upvoted.
[1:15:01 – 1:15:04] Adam: Tippy tops, top of the charts.
[1:15:04 – 1:15:05] Adam: On Reddit, never.
[1:15:05 – 1:15:06] Adam: Yeah.
[1:15:07 – 1:15:09] Adam: Do you own Reddit now, Artificial Appendix?
[1:15:09 – 1:15:14] Erik: Yeah, I think this is Spez, the guy that invented Reddit.
[1:15:14 – 1:15:14] Erik: There you go.
[1:15:14 – 1:15:17] Erik: He’s probably just his pseudonym.
[1:15:17 – 1:15:19] Erik: Multiple burner accounts.
[1:15:19 – 1:15:21] Adam: You have unlimited powers now on the next canvas.
[1:15:22 – 1:15:22] Erik: Yeah.
[1:15:22 – 1:15:26] Erik: Just any time you post anything, he just gets an automatic five of those.
[1:15:27 – 1:15:27] Adam: Oh, wow.
[1:15:28 – 1:15:29] Adam: That’s quite the multiplier.
[1:15:32 – 1:15:34] Adam: Stick that up boat in a broiler.
[1:15:34 – 1:15:36] Adam: Stick it over a fire.
[1:15:36 – 1:15:37] Adam: That’s right.
[1:15:38 – 1:15:40] Adam: Rip a match off your next-door neighbor’s face.
[1:15:41 – 1:15:48] Erik: Two trips this year.
[1:15:48 – 1:15:49] Erik: Pew, pew, pew.
[1:15:49 – 1:15:51] Adam: Pew, pew, pew.
[1:15:51 – 1:15:57] Erik: Main event is taking my 10-year-old daughter on her first BWCA trip.
[1:15:58 – 1:15:59] Erik: Entering on Poplar.
[1:16:00 – 1:16:02] Erik: That’s a Lizzen Swamp Permit.
[1:16:03 – 1:16:05] Erik: Heading down to either Caribou or Horseshoe.
[1:16:06 – 1:16:13] Erik: Totally jazzed about the trip and is asking about 10 questions a day even now, which I love.
[1:16:13 – 1:16:13] Erik: That’s good.
[1:16:14 – 1:16:18] Erik: I don’t know anything about kids, but I know questions and interest.
[1:16:19 – 1:16:19] Erik: That’s good.
[1:16:20 – 1:16:20] Adam: Curiosity.
[1:16:21 – 1:16:21] Adam: You want that.
[1:16:21 – 1:16:23] Adam: That’s the key to everything.
[1:16:23 – 1:16:31] Erik: For whatever reason, over the course of the last week, any of the times I’ve gone on Reddit, the top posts on AskReddit is like,
[1:16:32 – 1:16:35] Adam: How do you know when your partner doesn’t love you anymore?
[1:16:36 – 1:16:37] Erik: It’s like, Jesus.
[1:16:38 – 1:16:41] Erik: It’s like when they stop showing interest in things that you’re interested in.
[1:16:41 – 1:16:43] Adam: Yeah, curiosity.
[1:16:43 – 1:16:46] Erik: The fact that you’re also… A lot of other horrible responses.
[1:16:47 – 1:16:48] Adam: Oh, sure.
[1:16:50 – 1:16:52] Erik: You didn’t need to ask Reddit to know any of this.
[1:16:52 – 1:16:53] Erik: This is all common sense.
[1:16:54 – 1:16:56] Erik: Anyway, sorry, Artificial Appendix.
[1:16:57 – 1:17:00] Erik: This is all to say that it is great that you have…
[1:17:02 – 1:17:04] Erik: A child, for one, that’s good.
[1:17:05 – 1:17:11] Erik: And for two, a young child who is interested in asking questions.
[1:17:11 – 1:17:14] Erik: I wish I had somebody that was around asking questions.
[1:17:15 – 1:17:16] Erik: Not anymore.
[1:17:16 – 1:17:18] Adam: She’s a young tumble homie.
[1:17:18 – 1:17:22] Erik: And we’ve listened to the Poplar episode twice already.
[1:17:22 – 1:17:24] Adam: I didn’t even know we had a Poplar episode.
[1:17:24 – 1:17:28] Erik: I didn’t really even know that we did either.
[1:17:28 – 1:17:29] Adam: Oh, the Ping Islands.
[1:17:29 – 1:17:31] Adam: It’s been a while since I’ve been out to them.
[1:17:34 – 1:17:34] Adam: Well, that’s for sure.
[1:17:35 – 1:17:38] Erik: We would rate the campsites on that one.
[1:17:38 – 1:17:39] Adam: Yeah, as we should have.
[1:17:40 – 1:17:40] Adam: Yeah.
[1:17:41 – 1:17:42] Adam: Caribou?
[1:17:42 – 1:17:42] UNKNOWN: Do we?
[1:17:44 – 1:17:44] Adam: Yeah, we do.
[1:17:45 – 1:17:50] UNKNOWN: We’ve got a Liz episode ranking all zero campsites.
[1:17:50 – 1:17:50] Adam: Yeah.
[1:17:50 – 1:17:51] Adam: The island has potential.
[1:17:53 – 1:17:54] Erik: She’s a young tumble homie.
[1:17:54 – 1:17:54] Erik: That is amazing.
[1:17:55 – 1:17:57] Erik: And we’ve listened to the popular episode twice already.
[1:17:57 – 1:18:01] Erik: Other trip is with my college buddy up to Lake Warren heading to Inns and Lines.
[1:18:03 – 1:18:05] Adam: In a rubber raft.
[1:18:05 – 1:18:07] Erik: Make sure that thing don’t blow up.
[1:18:07 – 1:18:08] Erik: Check for bombs.
[1:18:09 – 1:18:14] Erik: Any kind of a strap that’s been, you know, tacked onto it.
[1:18:14 – 1:18:16] Erik: Maybe some light beeping.
[1:18:17 – 1:18:20] Erik: Whatever you do, keep your eyes peeled for those mini crossbows.
[1:18:22 – 1:18:22] Adam: That’s right.
[1:18:24 – 1:18:27] Adam: Make sure you make it to the Beaver Flats portage in time.
[1:18:27 – 1:18:28] Erik: Beaver Flats.
[1:18:28 – 1:18:29] Erik: And if the flag is gone…
[1:18:30 – 1:18:32] Adam: Probably got to ask your buddy Chuck.
[1:18:33 – 1:18:34] Adam: Chuck the dog.
[1:18:34 – 1:18:34] Adam: Get Chuck.
[1:18:34 – 1:18:35] Adam: He knows where it’s at.
[1:18:36 – 1:18:39] Erik: Boy, I’ve never seen such heavy lifting from a dog in a movie before.
[1:18:39 – 1:18:40] Erik: He carried that belt.
[1:18:40 – 1:18:43] Adam: Chuck was the best part of that movie by a lot.
[1:18:44 – 1:18:44] Erik: Yeah.
[1:18:44 – 1:18:46] Erik: I mean, Chuck’s great.
[1:18:46 – 1:18:47] Erik: Say what you will about Chuck.
[1:18:48 – 1:18:49] Erik: He didn’t really have much competition.
[1:18:50 – 1:18:53] Adam: He’s a scoundrel, but he’s also the best actor in that movie.
[1:18:53 – 1:18:53] Adam: He was.
[1:18:54 – 1:18:54] Adam: He was great.
[1:18:54 – 1:18:55] Adam: All right.
[1:18:55 – 1:18:58] Adam: Thank you, Artificial Appendix 1.
[1:18:58 – 1:19:00] Adam: Good luck on Caribou.
[1:19:01 – 1:19:01] Adam: Or horseshoe.
[1:19:04 – 1:19:06] Adam: Yeah.
[1:19:06 – 1:19:07] Adam: All good options.
[1:19:07 – 1:19:09] Adam: You’re going to have a banger of a time.
[1:19:09 – 1:19:10] Adam: 17 votes.
[1:19:13 – 1:19:13] Adam: Yeah.
[1:19:13 – 1:19:16] Adam: I’m going to have to go back and review the Poplar episode.
[1:19:18 – 1:19:20] Adam: Anyways, we’re going to call it good on this episode.
[1:19:23 – 1:19:24] Adam: Our time is up.
[1:19:25 – 1:19:29] Adam: Our producer is making the hand signal at us that we have to wrap this up.
[1:19:29 – 1:19:30] Adam: So…
[1:19:34 – 1:19:37] Adam: Next week, we will continue the question of the year.
[1:19:38 – 1:19:41] Adam: Comment two.
[1:19:41 – 1:19:48] Adam: We will be able to keep track of which ones we have read and which ones we have not so far, so don’t even bother trying to get funny with the funny stuff.
[1:19:50 – 1:19:51] Adam: We’ll be back next week.
[1:19:51 – 1:20:00] Adam: Less Coghlan’s Cup coverage and more question of the week as it will naturally level itself out and is designed to know.
[1:20:00 – 1:20:01] Erik: There could be another scampi.
[1:20:02 – 1:20:02] Adam: You never know.
[1:20:02 – 1:20:04] Adam: Yeah, hopefully not.
[1:20:04 – 1:20:06] Adam: I hope for a scandal.
[1:20:06 – 1:20:07] Adam: I actually hope for another scandal.
[1:20:07 – 1:20:09] Erik: I tune in for the scandal.
[1:20:09 – 1:20:09] Adam: Yeah.
[1:20:09 – 1:20:10] Erik: The juicy, juicy sports scandal.
[1:20:12 – 1:20:13] Adam: This just in.
[1:20:14 – 1:20:17] Adam: You’re never going to believe what Rye Butters said now.
[1:20:18 – 1:20:19] Adam: That sick bastard.
[1:20:21 – 1:20:25] Adam: All right, next week on Tumble Home, we’re going to get into that scandal.
[1:20:25 – 1:20:32] Adam: But thanks again for everybody who voted in the tournament, and we’re going to keep it going next week.
[1:20:33 – 1:20:38] Adam: We are going to shut this one down so we can talk about Up the Creek more than we’ve already talked about it.
[1:20:38 – 1:20:41] Erik: Yeah, we’ve kind of just slowly talked about it.
[1:20:41 – 1:20:42] Adam: Can’t wait to really talk about it, though.
[1:20:42 – 1:20:44] Erik: We’re really going to talk about it.
[1:20:44 – 1:20:44] UNKNOWN: We can swear.
[1:20:45 – 1:20:46] Adam: Tell me what you really think, Eric.
[1:20:46 – 1:20:47] Erik: Oh, God, we could just.
[1:20:49 – 1:20:50] Erik: The filters are coming.
[1:20:51 – 1:20:52] Adam: It’s R-rated.
[1:20:52 – 1:20:53] Erik: Five?
[1:20:54 – 1:20:54] Erik: R-rated.
[1:20:56 – 1:20:57] Adam: Rip your shirt off.
[1:20:58 – 1:20:59] Adam: I don’t know.
[1:20:59 – 1:21:00] Adam: Just rip your shirt off.
[1:21:00 – 1:21:01] Adam: That’s why.
[1:21:01 – 1:21:03] Erik: So much gratuitous nudity.
[1:21:03 – 1:21:04] Erik: Hey, man.
[1:21:04 – 1:21:05] Adam: It’s the 80s.
[1:21:05 – 1:21:06] Adam: Drinking and driving.
[1:21:06 – 1:21:07] Erik: Drinking and driving.
[1:21:09 – 1:21:09] Erik: Violence.
[1:21:10 – 1:21:11] Erik: Flapping flappers.
[1:21:12 – 1:21:13] Erik: They’re flapping.
[1:21:13 – 1:21:14] Adam: Oh, yeah.
[1:21:14 – 1:21:15] Adam: Meaty flaps.
[1:21:15 – 1:21:16] Erik: Meaty flappers.
[1:21:17 – 1:21:19] Erik: Tent sex silhouettes.
[1:21:19 – 1:21:22] Erik: A la Austin Powers.
[1:21:23 – 1:21:23] Adam: Yeah.
[1:21:23 – 1:21:24] Adam: For a hot second.
[1:21:24 – 1:21:24] Adam: This is juicy.
[1:21:26 – 1:21:27] UNKNOWN: Hot tub blowjobs.
[1:21:27 – 1:21:29] UNKNOWN: Underwater hot tub blowjobs.
[1:21:31 – 1:21:32] Adam: That’s the end of that episode.
[1:21:35 – 1:21:36] Adam: Up the creek.
[1:21:37 – 1:21:39] Adam: Without a paddle.
[1:21:39 – 1:21:39] Erik: Oh, man.
[1:21:39 – 1:21:42] Erik: I hope we can find like an… We got to find that.
[1:21:42 – 1:21:43] Adam: We got to find the song.
[1:21:43 – 1:21:43] Adam: Yeah.
[1:21:44 – 1:21:45] Erik: Just so we can just blare it.
[1:21:46 – 1:21:47] Adam: Absolutely.
[1:21:47 – 1:21:47] Adam: All right.
[1:21:47 – 1:21:48] Erik: And coming out.
[1:21:50 – 1:21:51] Erik: Heavy paddling.
[1:21:52 – 1:21:53] Erik: Life is a miracle.
[1:21:53 – 1:21:54] Erik: Arrivederci.
[1:21:54 – 1:21:55] Erik: Paisley Dieri.
[1:21:55 – 1:21:57] Adam: Trey Tasty Ammo.
[1:21:57 – 1:21:59] Adam: Trey Tasty Ammo.
[1:21:59 – 1:22:01] Erik: Go silicone units, but…
[1:22:04 – 1:22:05] Adam: That’s right, the underdog.
[1:22:07 – 1:22:08] Erik: Break the meme chain.
[1:22:08 – 1:22:09] Erik: Start a new meme.
[1:22:13 – 1:22:13] Adam: Good night.
