[0:00:36 – 0:00:37] Erik: Let’s rip.
[0:00:38 – 0:00:38] Erik: Let’s rip.
[0:00:39 – 0:00:40] Erik: Not real, not yet.
[0:00:40 – 0:00:43] Erik: Maybe this is as close as you’ll get.
[0:00:43 – 0:00:55] Erik: My name is Jim Sofa, joined as always for this time of year and in this majestic Tumble Home Sports Network presentation, the 2026 Birdament coming at you.
[0:00:56 – 0:00:57] Erik: Terry Davenport, how are you?
[0:00:58 – 0:00:59] Adam: Doing great, Jim.
[0:00:59 – 0:01:00] Adam: Thanks for having me here.
[0:01:00 – 0:01:12] Erik: It’s a real pleasure to be here tonight in Studio V. Yeah, last night in Studio V. Whether we like it or not, the shed will be opened next week.
[0:01:12 – 0:01:17] Adam: The shed will be open, but also the original Studio K is back open again.
[0:01:17 – 0:01:39] Adam: oh uh starting there so we could uh go to the old studio k turn on the heat get the get the those sweet sweet deep background refrigerator compressors starting up noises yeah just like the olden days just like episode four yeah wow that fridge is still out there yeah yeah
[0:01:40 – 0:01:43] Erik: Brought to you by Clearwater Historic Lodge and Canoe Outfitters.
[0:01:44 – 0:01:46] Adam: Wow.
[0:01:47 – 0:01:49] Adam: We were just talking about the olden days.
[0:01:49 – 0:01:52] Adam: Now I’m really going all the way back down memory lane there, Jim.
[0:01:52 – 0:01:53] Erik: All the way back.
[0:01:54 – 0:01:55] Adam: Yeah, it’s nice here.
[0:01:55 – 0:02:00] Adam: You got the wood stuff going, and it was definitely snowing today here in Cook County.
[0:02:00 – 0:02:01] Adam: I’ve said it before.
[0:02:01 – 0:02:05] Adam: We were preparing for this round two coverage from Tumble Home Sports Network.
[0:02:05 – 0:02:06] Adam: It was definitely snowing.
[0:02:06 – 0:02:07] Erik: Yeah, I’ve said it before.
[0:02:07 – 0:02:08] Erik: I’ll say it again.
[0:02:08 – 0:02:09] Erik: One of the worst times of the year.
[0:02:10 – 0:02:12] Adam: You know, last weekend was sublime.
[0:02:12 – 0:02:17] Adam: It was a beautiful weekend, all weekend, and there was parts of today that were nice.
[0:02:17 – 0:02:26] Adam: Got a lot done in the yard, but yeah, also it’s upsettingly, it’s just upsettingly cold still and windy today.
[0:02:26 – 0:02:37] Erik: Any time of year where, whether it’s an hour or a day or a week or a month, that 20% of that time is nice weather.
[0:02:38 – 0:02:41] Erik: Kind of still really sucks for me.
[0:02:42 – 0:02:43] Erik: I feel like we are at the end, though.
[0:02:44 – 0:02:46] Erik: Looks like we’re pushing towards the end.
[0:02:47 – 0:02:55] Erik: And maybe by this time next week, we’ll be maybe seeing some sixes and maybe not freezing every night.
[0:02:55 – 0:02:56] SPEAKER_00: Maybe.
[0:02:56 – 0:02:59] Adam: I haven’t heard a thrush yet other than, of course, the robins.
[0:03:00 – 0:03:05] Adam: So, you know, once you hear a thrush, then you know it’s officially short, short weather.
[0:03:05 – 0:03:06] Adam: Yeah.
[0:03:07 – 0:03:13] Adam: I have not pulled off any short shorts yet, but I have not heard any thrush at all other than the robin.
[0:03:14 – 0:03:15] Adam: I don’t know why they don’t count.
[0:03:15 – 0:03:16] Adam: They are a thrush.
[0:03:17 – 0:03:19] Adam: Maybe that’s why people don’t like thrushes.
[0:03:19 – 0:03:20] Adam: Well, we’ve learned.
[0:03:20 – 0:03:22] Adam: The most famous one is the robin.
[0:03:22 – 0:03:22] Adam: I did…
[0:03:23 – 0:03:30] Adam: As promised last week, I did go and post some YouTube videos of the Swainson’s Thrush song and call.
[0:03:31 – 0:03:34] Adam: I found a really good one where they compare the different Thrush’s calls.
[0:03:34 – 0:03:36] Adam: And so you get all of them.
[0:03:36 – 0:03:42] Adam: You get the Wood Thrush, the Hermit Thrush, and the Veery, and the Swainson’s all in one video.
[0:03:42 – 0:03:45] Adam: And with a little sound graph.
[0:03:46 – 0:04:11] Adam: jim i think it’s where were you posting this i posted this to the discord i should post it i’ll post it also to the reddit when i when i get home and nobody had wanted to have anything to do with it they were all you got a couple hearts yeah i got a couple heart emojis it’s a great video it explains in great detail but simply the differences in their calls and so you get to hear all their wonderful calls and uh deep dive into syrinx biology
[0:04:12 – 0:04:35] Adam: yeah you know how are they even pulling this off it sounds like a robot it’s insane um yeah it’s a little plain looking bird with a big uh song and a big heart most importantly so big heart i’m not quite ready to let him go i cannot believe i was forced to choose between whippoorwill and wood duck this week when i should have been choosing between the swainson’s thrush and the brown creeper but uh
[0:04:36 – 0:04:37] Adam: I’m not going to be salty about it, Jim.
[0:04:39 – 0:04:43] Adam: That’s the will of the voters, and that’s how we’ve always done it here at Tomahawk Sports Network.
[0:04:43 – 0:04:47] Adam: And that’s the only reason we’re partnered with the ABA, because we said we would follow the rules.
[0:04:48 – 0:04:50] Adam: Yeah, that’s the only reason.
[0:04:50 – 0:04:51] Adam: They’re by the book.
[0:04:57 – 0:05:15] Adam: brought to you by aba uh i did get a new lifer today jim oh yeah when you get to 101 then i’m up to 101 i uh i got uh what did i get off the porch the other day three-toed woodpecker no it was a black bernie and i got off the porch that ain’t right is it
[0:05:16 – 0:05:21] Adam: Anyways, today I was walking down the driveway in the bluster trying to just keep myself from getting blown out into the woods.
[0:05:22 – 0:05:26] Adam: And I look over and there’s a little palm warbler just sitting on a log.
[0:05:26 – 0:05:28] Erik: Palm warbler.
[0:05:28 – 0:05:29] Adam: Palm warbler.
[0:05:30 – 0:05:34] Erik: Is it because of the size or because of the connection to the tropics?
[0:05:35 – 0:05:35] Adam: I don’t know.
[0:05:35 – 0:05:40] Adam: It must be the connection to the tropics because all those warblers are about the same size.
[0:05:40 – 0:05:41] Erik: They’re all palm-sized.
[0:05:41 – 0:05:45] Erik: Yeah, I was going to… Jeez, bud.
[0:05:45 – 0:05:46] Adam: Come on.
[0:05:47 – 0:06:12] Adam: because i was pretty sure it was either i i thought maybe a cape may warbler i’m showing uh jim the picture here but um yeah i did see a magnolia warbler uh off the porch a couple days ago but then i i came down here to palm warbler i didn’t have it on my life list and that’s absolutely what it is let me show you the picture you seen this i am a little red hat yes in the yellow stripy front
[0:06:12 – 0:06:14] Erik: That’s a nice little cute little bird.
[0:06:14 – 0:06:17] Adam: Okay, so I got some crazy zoomed in pictures.
[0:06:18 – 0:06:19] Erik: Look at that.
[0:06:20 – 0:06:20] Erik: That’s a confirmation.
[0:06:20 – 0:06:22] Erik: I got a really good picture of him, yeah.
[0:06:22 – 0:06:23] Erik: That’s a big…
[0:06:24 – 0:06:26] Adam: I got the side view, Jim.
[0:06:26 – 0:06:30] Adam: I don’t think anybody… That’s a palm warbler all day, baby.
[0:06:30 – 0:06:31] Adam: It doesn’t…
[0:06:31 – 0:06:33] Adam: The Cape May has a little red patch under the eye.
[0:06:33 – 0:06:34] Adam: You can see…
[0:06:34 – 0:06:38] Erik: I don’t think anybody on eBird is going to be questioning that one.
[0:06:38 – 0:06:41] Adam: I’m going right to the top 10 in Cook County this year.
[0:06:41 – 0:06:42] Adam: It’s a big year.
[0:06:42 – 0:06:43] Adam: He’s starting late, but he’s going for it.
[0:06:44 – 0:06:45] Adam: Yeah, I’m just going to start my big year in May.
[0:06:47 – 0:06:50] Erik: Got only 659 birds to go to break the record.
[0:06:51 – 0:06:52] Adam: Big day, for sure.
[0:06:52 – 0:06:57] Adam: I got a lot of trees cut down in the yard, and I did get a palm warbler.
[0:06:57 – 0:06:59] Erik: Palm warbler.
[0:06:59 – 0:07:00] Adam: Lifer.
[0:07:02 – 0:07:04] Erik: Or maybe it’s just named after a guy, you know, Dick Palm.
[0:07:09 – 0:07:14] Adam: I did find out what the opposite of a chopped unk is this week.
[0:07:14 – 0:07:15] Adam: The opposite?
[0:07:15 – 0:07:15] Adam: Yeah.
[0:07:16 – 0:07:17] Adam: Chopped unk is not good.
[0:07:17 – 0:07:19] Adam: It’s an uncool, ugly person.
[0:07:19 – 0:07:19] Adam: What?
[0:07:19 – 0:07:20] Adam: Ugly?
[0:07:20 – 0:07:21] Adam: Inside and out.
[0:07:22 – 0:07:22] Adam: Really?
[0:07:22 – 0:07:24] Adam: Unk is for uncool.
[0:07:24 – 0:07:28] Adam: Chopped is meaning you’re nasty.
[0:07:29 – 0:07:31] Erik: Oh, unk is uncool.
[0:07:31 – 0:07:33] Erik: I thought it was just short for uncle.
[0:07:33 – 0:07:36] Adam: No, Chopped Unk is uncool, nasty.
[0:07:36 – 0:07:37] Adam: Okay, that’s good.
[0:07:37 – 0:07:37] Adam: Nasty, uncool.
[0:07:37 – 0:07:41] Erik: Because it’s like the only thing I am is an uncle.
[0:07:41 – 0:07:47] Erik: So I was like, if they’re taking the one thing that I am, besides like a husband and a son.
[0:07:47 – 0:07:48] Adam: You’re a lot more than that.
[0:07:48 – 0:07:50] Adam: Give yourself more credit there, Jim.
[0:07:50 – 0:07:51] Adam: And a friend.
[0:07:52 – 0:07:53] Adam: A dear, dear friend.
[0:07:54 – 0:07:55] Erik: To at least one.
[0:07:55 – 0:07:58] Adam: 300 and however many episodes of this together.
[0:07:58 – 0:07:59] Adam: I was like, wow.
[0:07:59 – 0:08:01] Adam: How many trips and miles in the park we’ve done together.
[0:08:01 – 0:08:02] Adam: You’re more than that.
[0:08:02 – 0:08:05] Erik: They’re taking unk from me, but I guess that’s good.
[0:08:05 – 0:08:07] Erik: I’m glad that it means uncool.
[0:08:07 – 0:08:07] Erik: That’s good.
[0:08:07 – 0:08:08] Erik: I like it a lot more now.
[0:08:08 – 0:08:15] Adam: I asked the kids at the disc golf club, the sixth graders, what’s the opposite of a chopped unk?
[0:08:15 – 0:08:16] Adam: It’s a Rizzy Huss.
[0:08:17 – 0:08:17] Erik: What?
[0:08:17 – 0:08:18] Erik: Rizzy Huss.
[0:08:18 – 0:08:20] Erik: I know Riz, but what’s Huss?
[0:08:20 – 0:08:20] Adam: I don’t know.
[0:08:21 – 0:08:21] Erik: Hustler?
[0:08:22 – 0:08:22] Erik: Husband?
[0:08:23 – 0:08:23] Adam: Husband.
[0:08:23 – 0:08:25] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it’s a Rizzy husband.
[0:08:25 – 0:08:28] Erik: A charismatic husband.
[0:08:29 – 0:08:30] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that’s what it means.
[0:08:31 – 0:08:32] Adam: We got to the bottom of that one.
[0:08:32 – 0:08:33] Adam: Yep.
[0:08:33 – 0:08:34] Adam: Decoded.
[0:08:35 – 0:08:42] Adam: You can trust people who just routinely play with sticks like they’re golden retrievers to tell you what’s the cool lingo.
[0:08:43 – 0:08:43] Erik: Oh, yeah.
[0:08:43 – 0:08:44] Erik: You think you’re cool?
[0:08:45 – 0:08:50] Erik: Well, I’ve never met anybody that’s so obsessed with a stick that didn’t lick its own dick every half hour.
[0:08:50 – 0:08:52] Adam: Go poke at something in the woods with that stick.
[0:08:53 – 0:08:55] Adam: Eddie.
[0:08:55 – 0:08:56] Adam: Jesus.
[0:08:58 – 0:09:00] Adam: Yeah.
[0:09:00 – 0:09:04] Adam: We should say also, happy Mother’s Day is Mother’s Day.
[0:09:04 – 0:09:05] Erik: Fishing opener.
[0:09:05 – 0:09:06] Erik: Happy fishing opener.
[0:09:06 – 0:09:07] Adam: Happy fishing opener.
[0:09:07 – 0:09:09] Erik: At least Fishing Opener is government-sanctioned.
[0:09:10 – 0:09:12] Erik: I feel like Mother’s Day is only Hallmark-sanctioned.
[0:09:13 – 0:09:13] Adam: I don’t know.
[0:09:13 – 0:09:16] Adam: Those mothers are keeping us on track in the good weather and the bad.
[0:09:16 – 0:09:18] Adam: Happy paddling to all those tumble home mothers out there.
[0:09:18 – 0:09:21] Adam: Thank you for listening and for raising them right.
[0:09:21 – 0:09:25] Erik: Appreciate them on more than a one-day-out-of-the-year basis.
[0:09:25 – 0:09:26] Adam: Every day is Mother’s Day.
[0:09:26 – 0:09:27] Adam: That’s what I’m saying.
[0:09:30 – 0:09:32] Adam: Giving them an extra back rub.
[0:09:32 – 0:09:33] Adam: Why are you winking like that?
[0:09:35 – 0:09:37] Adam: We’re giving them an extra special back rub.
[0:09:37 – 0:09:41] Erik: You winked right at the back rub part.
[0:09:41 – 0:09:43] Adam: And making them a nice omelet.
[0:09:43 – 0:09:45] Erik: Struggling to wink.
[0:09:45 – 0:09:46] Erik: People.
[0:09:46 – 0:10:11] Adam: know how to wink i gotta remember to pull the i’m doing croissants tomorrow so i gotta make sure i get i gotta leave myself a note here to get the prep the i gotta prep those croissants wink why are you winking at me jim you’re prepping we’re prepping their croissants it’s gonna be a real it’s gonna be a real memorable day tomorrow a real memorable one
[0:10:12 – 0:10:13] Adam: Thank you, mothers.
[0:10:14 – 0:10:15] Erik: Thanks to all the mothers.
[0:10:16 – 0:10:18] Erik: Where did Tim Walls go fishing today?
[0:10:18 – 0:10:19] Erik: Did you see?
[0:10:19 – 0:10:20] Adam: I didn’t see.
[0:10:20 – 0:10:20] Adam: No.
[0:10:21 – 0:10:22] Erik: Probably not up here.
[0:10:22 – 0:10:23] Adam: Probably Birch Lake.
[0:10:23 – 0:10:23] Erik: Pristine.
[0:10:23 – 0:10:24] Erik: Yeah, pristine.
[0:10:24 – 0:10:27] Erik: Never to be touched by any Chilean.
[0:10:27 – 0:10:33] Adam: I’m pretty sure it was Birch Lake because he did want to check out the RC Kinglet versus the GB Herons.
[0:10:34 – 0:10:35] Adam: A matchup for sure.
[0:10:35 – 0:10:37] Erik: I mean, if you’re in the neighborhood, might as well.
[0:10:37 – 0:10:40] Adam: Might as well pop in and see our pal R.C.
[0:10:40 – 0:10:41] Adam: Kinglett.
[0:10:41 – 0:10:42] Adam: Yeah.
[0:10:42 – 0:10:43] Adam: Reigning threes.
[0:10:43 – 0:10:44] Adam: Reigning.
[0:10:44 – 0:10:46] Adam: Absolutely just pecking the net.
[0:10:46 – 0:10:48] Adam: Just pecking the net.
[0:10:48 – 0:10:49] Adam: Pecking the net.
[0:10:49 – 0:10:51] Erik: Bunch of net peckers out here.
[0:10:51 – 0:10:52] Adam: Oh, my God.
[0:10:52 – 0:10:53] Adam: He’s got the Rizzy Huss.
[0:10:57 – 0:10:59] Adam: Boy, I’m all this laughing, Jim.
[0:10:59 – 0:11:00] Adam: I’m getting quite thirsty.
[0:11:00 – 0:11:07] Adam: And we do have a huge Super 1 Foods bag here dated January 15th, 2026.
[0:11:07 – 0:11:08] Erik: Our first 2026.
[0:11:08 – 0:11:10] Adam: We’re into the 2026 donation.
[0:11:11 – 0:11:11] Adam: Nice.
[0:11:11 – 0:11:12] Adam: This is a big bag.
[0:11:12 – 0:11:14] Adam: That’s your big bag.
[0:11:14 – 0:11:15] Adam: Yeah.
[0:11:18 – 0:11:19] Adam: We got four tall in there.
[0:11:19 – 0:11:20] Adam: Hold on.
[0:11:20 – 0:11:21] Erik: Four tall.
[0:11:21 – 0:11:24] Erik: I know there’s a. Oh, no.
[0:11:25 – 0:11:25] Erik: Oh, my.
[0:11:25 – 0:11:26] Erik: I don’t like what I’m seeing.
[0:11:26 – 0:11:27] Erik: Or maybe I do.
[0:11:27 – 0:11:29] Adam: You love what you’re seeing.
[0:11:29 – 0:11:30] Erik: Oh, my God.
[0:11:30 – 0:11:33] Adam: Got a sealed card here.
[0:11:34 – 0:11:36] Adam: Let me read the card, Jim.
[0:11:37 – 0:11:42] Adam: It’s a whimsical fox with a basket of flowers and a nice scarf.
[0:11:42 – 0:11:44] Erik: That’s a sharp-looking boy there.
[0:11:44 – 0:11:47] Erik: I would have been absolutely blown away if it would have been a bird of some sort.
[0:11:47 – 0:11:48] Erik: That’s a Rizzy Huss right there.
[0:11:48 – 0:11:49] Adam: That’s a Rizzy Huss.
[0:11:50 – 0:11:51] Adam: Maybe there’s going to be a bird on the inside.
[0:11:51 – 0:11:52] Adam: Oh, my God.
[0:11:53 – 0:11:57] Adam: Adam and Eric, we kind of like your podcast.
[0:11:57 – 0:12:02] Adam: Episode 45 inspired us to hike out to the North Hagman pictographs.
[0:12:02 – 0:12:06] Adam: We rated a 13 out of 13.
[0:12:06 – 0:12:09] Adam: Nice.
[0:12:09 – 0:12:12] Adam: On a 1 to 13 scale, we’re rating it a 13.
[0:12:12 – 0:12:13] Adam: Yeah, I agree.
[0:12:13 – 0:12:13] Adam: Thank you.
[0:12:13 – 0:12:14] Adam: I’m glad you got to go out there.
[0:12:15 – 0:12:20] Adam: Out of all the podcasts out there, Tumble Home is our choice for long, boring drives to stay awake.
[0:12:20 – 0:12:22] Adam: So many belly laughs.
[0:12:22 – 0:12:24] Adam: Your stories and voices are the best.
[0:12:24 – 0:12:27] Adam: It also helps you mostly talk about the BWCA.
[0:12:27 – 0:12:30] Adam: Because of you, we partake in mouth mixers and night coffee.
[0:12:31 – 0:12:33] Adam: On a scale of 1 to 13, you guys are a 14.
[0:12:33 – 0:12:33] Adam: Wow.
[0:12:34 – 0:12:37] Adam: We’re better than the pictographs of Hegman Lake, Jim.
[0:12:38 – 0:12:42] Adam: Your biggest fans, Kate and Ann, enjoy the art supplies.
[0:12:42 – 0:12:43] Adam: Thank you, Kate and Ann.
[0:12:43 – 0:12:44] Adam: Thank you, Kate and Ann.
[0:12:44 – 0:12:45] Erik: Lovely card, lovely words.
[0:12:45 – 0:12:47] Adam: That was very nice.
[0:12:47 – 0:12:48] Erik: Risky husk?
[0:12:48 – 0:12:48] Erik: What is it?
[0:12:48 – 0:12:49] Adam: Rizzy husk.
[0:12:49 – 0:12:50] Adam: We’re a Rizzy husk.
[0:12:51 – 0:12:51] Adam: Husk?
[0:12:51 – 0:12:55] Adam: No, the Hegman pictographs are definitely a Rizzy husk.
[0:12:55 – 0:12:56] Adam: Rizzy husk.
[0:12:56 – 0:12:56] Adam: Hus.
[0:12:57 – 0:12:57] Adam: Hus.
[0:12:57 – 0:12:58] Adam: Husbands.
[0:12:59 – 0:13:00] SPEAKER_00: We’re charismatic husbands.
[0:13:00 – 0:13:01] SPEAKER_00: Charismatic husbands.
[0:13:01 – 0:13:02] Adam: And we’re thirsty also.
[0:13:02 – 0:13:03] Adam: Yes.
[0:13:04 – 0:13:05] Adam: We got ourselves…
[0:13:05 – 0:13:07] Adam: It looks like a twofer here.
[0:13:08 – 0:13:13] Adam: We got carrot cake, extra special delivery, pastry ale?
[0:13:13 – 0:13:16] Erik: I don’t like the sound of pastry ale, but it…
[0:13:16 – 0:13:17] Erik: I mean, the color’s…
[0:13:17 – 0:13:19] Adam: I love the sound of pastry ale.
[0:13:19 – 0:13:21] Adam: Are very reminiscent of a Mountain Dew.
[0:13:21 – 0:13:26] Adam: I just talked about how I got to make the croissants tonight, so I need to probably get into this pastry ale.
[0:13:27 – 0:13:28] Erik: Oh, dear God.
[0:13:28 – 0:13:28] Erik: 9.3%?
[0:13:28 – 0:13:37] Adam: This is the Brewing Project Extra Special Delivery Ale with carrot puree, vanilla, and spices.
[0:13:37 – 0:13:38] Adam: It is 9.3%.
[0:13:39 – 0:13:40] Erik: I was like, eh, I don’t know.
[0:13:40 – 0:13:42] Erik: I could maybe not do the 9.3%.
[0:13:42 – 0:13:44] SPEAKER_00: Kate, man, what are you trying to do to us?
[0:13:45 – 0:13:47] SPEAKER_00: I was like, maybe we check out what this other one is.
[0:13:47 – 0:13:49] Adam: It is a Saturday night, though, Jim.
[0:13:49 – 0:13:51] Erik: And the other one is a peanut butter double.
[0:13:52 – 0:13:53] Erik: I don’t like how double is spelled.
[0:13:53 – 0:13:54] Erik: D-U-B-L.
[0:13:55 – 0:13:55] Erik: Stuffed.
[0:13:56 – 0:14:00] Erik: I do like the Halloween Oreo.
[0:14:01 – 0:14:03] Erik: I was like, yeah, maybe we just switch over to this one.
[0:14:03 – 0:14:04] Erik: But these are 10%.
[0:14:04 – 0:14:06] Adam: Okay, well, watch out then, Jim.
[0:14:07 – 0:14:12] Adam: We’ve got a lot of reading to do tonight, and we don’t want to get ourselves into a jackpot.
[0:14:13 – 0:14:14] Adam: Oh, man.
[0:14:14 – 0:14:15] Adam: It’s too late, Jim.
[0:14:15 – 0:14:16] Adam: We’re already in a jackpot.
[0:14:18 – 0:14:26] Adam: But thank you for the lovely card and note and the delicious-looking beers here.
[0:14:26 – 0:14:28] Adam: I’m going to definitely go with the carrot cake to start.
[0:14:28 – 0:14:29] Erik: There’s nothing else in there?
[0:14:30 – 0:14:33] Adam: Well, there is some more mingolds, which I brought along.
[0:14:33 – 0:14:34] Adam: Those weren’t sponsors, though.
[0:14:34 – 0:14:36] Adam: Those are for later.
[0:14:36 – 0:14:42] Adam: No, those were for the TCC, but I guess we’re going to postpone our TCC, I think, tonight.
[0:14:44 – 0:14:45] Adam: So I’m not going to tell.
[0:14:45 – 0:14:47] Adam: I think I already mentioned on the Discord.
[0:14:47 – 0:14:52] Adam: We’re going with Rio next, but that’ll be in two weeks.
[0:14:52 – 0:14:55] Erik: It’s the Duran Duran biopic.
[0:14:56 – 0:15:24] Adam: biopic biopic um it’s a blue macaw from minnesota goes back to rio de janeiro to save his species by getting it on and uh and they get to attend carnival and i’m not telling you anything more because uh jim hasn’t watched it yet so i’m not gonna say anymore i have good notes though cheers pastries and not the pastries and back rubs watch the bracket
[0:15:30 – 0:15:31] Adam: There’s like chunks in yours?
[0:15:33 – 0:15:34] Adam: Is there chunks of actual cake in this?
[0:15:36 – 0:15:36] Erik: Yeah.
[0:15:36 – 0:15:37] Adam: There is.
[0:15:38 – 0:15:39] Adam: They’re reasonably cold too.
[0:15:40 – 0:15:45] Adam: I got them out of the garage this morning and I put them out on the porch because it was a perfect 43 degrees.
[0:15:47 – 0:15:48] Adam: It does sort of taste like carrot cake.
[0:15:49 – 0:15:49] Erik: I don’t know.
[0:15:49 – 0:15:51] Erik: Are the chunks on purpose?
[0:15:53 – 0:15:55] Adam: Are there supposed to be chunks?
[0:15:55 – 0:15:57] Adam: Are there supposed to be chunks in this beer?
[0:15:58 – 0:15:59] Adam: Asking for us.
[0:16:00 – 0:16:03] Erik: It might be the first ever chunked beer.
[0:16:03 – 0:16:08] Adam: Hit us up on the Discord or email us.
[0:16:08 – 0:16:10] Adam: Tumblehomecast at gmail.com
[0:16:11 – 0:16:29] Adam: um five months later after this was so i mean these were kept at the proper temperature i didn’t let these ever freeze just heads up uh so it’s not that they’re supposed to be chunks um it’s interesting i mean it’s actually i like that did you i don’t know why but i like that jim
[0:16:29 – 0:16:32] Erik: Did you chew on the chunks a little bit?
[0:16:32 – 0:16:36] Erik: Is it textural or is it like the orbits, little globules?
[0:16:36 – 0:16:37] Adam: No, I think it’s globules.
[0:16:37 – 0:16:39] Adam: It’s like that bubble tea.
[0:16:40 – 0:16:40] Adam: Boba.
[0:16:41 – 0:16:42] Adam: Yeah, it’s like that.
[0:16:42 – 0:16:42] Adam: Yeah.
[0:16:43 – 0:16:44] Adam: Except for smaller.
[0:16:44 – 0:16:45] Erik: Yeah.
[0:16:45 – 0:16:48] Erik: How often are you going out and searching for boba tea spots?
[0:16:50 – 0:16:50] Adam: Not often, Jim.
[0:16:51 – 0:16:56] Erik: No, you don’t want to slurp up fish eggs in a tea slurry.
[0:16:57 – 0:17:02] Adam: I’m going to the big city this summer, so maybe I’ll find some boba tea down by the Bean.
[0:17:04 – 0:17:05] Erik: The Bean.
[0:17:05 – 0:17:06] Erik: The third biggest city?
[0:17:08 – 0:17:09] Adam: In North America?
[0:17:11 – 0:17:11] Adam: Yeah.
[0:17:12 – 0:17:13] Adam: I guess it is.
[0:17:13 – 0:17:13] Erik: Yeah.
[0:17:13 – 0:17:14] Adam: Is it?
[0:17:14 – 0:17:15] Erik: Mm-hmm.
[0:17:15 – 0:17:17] Erik: Not North America, in the United States.
[0:17:17 – 0:17:18] Adam: Right.
[0:17:18 – 0:17:21] Adam: It’s like fifth biggest in North America.
[0:17:22 – 0:17:23] Adam: Chicago.
[0:17:23 – 0:17:25] Erik: Don’t get me started on Mexico City.
[0:17:25 – 0:17:27] Adam: Yeah, no, I’m officially booked for Chicago.
[0:17:28 – 0:17:32] Adam: I think it’s been discussed on the Discord, but going to be in Chicago.
[0:17:32 – 0:17:38] Adam: And if anybody wants to meet up, show me where the best hot dogs are.
[0:17:39 – 0:17:41] Adam: Or deep dish?
[0:17:43 – 0:17:58] Erik: or malort where’s the best malort spot i don’t think it would be too difficult chicago because that’s where i’m going to be i don’t think it’s going to take you too much to find uh malort in chicago they have that at every bar what’s the uh what’s the chicago what is it the chicago hug
[0:17:59 – 0:18:27] Adam: uh yeah it is pbr or an old style that’s an old style old style and a lord yeah i’m gonna look for a hug see me those you can suck down sure um meeting up with and sounds like there’s gonna possibly be a meetup so if anybody in chicagoland wants to get together and drink my lord and dance uh swim in the river i’m not sure what you’re doing down there in chicago but we’ll be there hit us up on the discord
[0:18:27 – 0:18:32] Erik: My hot dog recommendation is Gene and Jude’s.
[0:18:32 – 0:18:33] Erik: Okay.
[0:18:33 – 0:18:34] Erik: Or the Wiener Circle.
[0:18:35 – 0:18:35] Erik: Noted.
[0:18:35 – 0:18:37] Erik: Both incredible.
[0:18:37 – 0:18:37] Erik: Thank you.
[0:18:38 – 0:18:38] Erik: No ketchup.
[0:18:39 – 0:18:39] Erik: No way.
[0:18:39 – 0:18:44] Erik: Not because it’s against anything I have to do with it, but you might get stabbed in the parking lot.
[0:18:44 – 0:18:45] Erik: I’m not doing that.
[0:18:45 – 0:18:46] Erik: If you go for ketchup.
[0:18:46 – 0:18:46] Adam: I don’t want to get stabbed.
[0:18:47 – 0:18:47] Adam: Yeah.
[0:18:48 – 0:18:51] Adam: I just want to ride public transit and stare at the tall buildings, Jim.
[0:18:51 – 0:18:52] Adam: Yeah.
[0:18:52 – 0:18:54] Erik: Gina Jews is a little bit out of the city.
[0:18:54 – 0:18:55] Erik: If you’re downtown, it probably doesn’t make sense.
[0:18:55 – 0:18:57] Erik: That’s like borderline, like out in Aurora.
[0:18:58 – 0:18:58] Adam: Okay.
[0:18:58 – 0:19:01] Adam: But the Wiener circle is right downtown.
[0:19:01 – 0:19:04] Erik: Like that’s like, I think that’s north.
[0:19:04 – 0:19:05] Erik: That’s like Wrigleyville.
[0:19:05 – 0:19:08] Erik: That’s like, you know, a couple of stops up on the blue line.
[0:19:08 – 0:19:09] Erik: I don’t know.
[0:19:09 – 0:19:11] Adam: No, not the blue line goes up to O’Hare.
[0:19:11 – 0:19:13] Adam: You want the green line to go to Wrigleyville.
[0:19:13 – 0:19:15] Adam: Whatever you do, don’t get on the brown line.
[0:19:15 – 0:19:17] Adam: Do not get on the brown line.
[0:19:17 – 0:19:18] Adam: Why?
[0:19:20 – 0:19:23] Adam: It’s going to take you to the Canal of Carp and Suffering.
[0:19:25 – 0:19:27] Erik: Or the war zone that is South Chicago.
[0:19:28 – 0:19:30] Adam: You know, is that true?
[0:19:30 – 0:19:32] Adam: I don’t think I’m going to buy into that.
[0:19:32 – 0:19:34] Adam: That’s what Tucker Carlson told me.
[0:19:34 – 0:19:34] Erik: I don’t know.
[0:19:35 – 0:19:35] Adam: Really?
[0:19:37 – 0:19:45] Adam: Happy Cinco de Mayo to our Mexican listeners, including Jim Sofa.
[0:19:45 – 0:19:47] Adam: I have a question about Mexico.
[0:19:49 – 0:20:15] Adam: for me yes okay see is is mexican shredded cheese available and or popular in mexico or is that uh not even a thing what do you mean mexican like the like the containers of shredded cheese red like multi-colored that is not a thing taco cheese no you can’t buy that at the what’s the main grocery store in baja
[0:20:16 – 0:20:17] Erik: Uh, there’s a number of them.
[0:20:18 – 0:20:20] Adam: Um, they got a King supers down there.
[0:20:20 – 0:20:31] Erik: Well, I mean, it’s like any developing country that has the predominant source of food is from like very small markets, local growers, local fishermen.
[0:20:31 – 0:20:34] Erik: Uh, but any of the supermarkets are, yeah.
[0:20:36 – 0:20:37] Erik: Uh, lays is a big one.
[0:20:37 – 0:20:39] Erik: Um, yeah.
[0:20:39 – 0:20:40] Erik: What’s Soriana.
[0:20:41 – 0:20:43] Adam: And they don’t have shredded cheese.
[0:20:43 – 0:20:48] Erik: Oh, if you go to any of those big ones, you find whatever you want that you could find in the States.
[0:20:49 – 0:20:49] Erik: Sure.
[0:20:49 – 0:20:57] Erik: But if you’re at what I would say comparable to, it’s like a bodega, essentially.
[0:20:57 – 0:20:58] Erik: Yeah.
[0:20:58 – 0:20:59] Erik: And all the towns have them.
[0:21:00 – 0:21:03] Erik: They’re like 7-Elevens, except there’s produce.
[0:21:03 – 0:21:05] Adam: They just have eggs on the counter at room temp.
[0:21:05 – 0:21:06] Erik: Yeah, most countries do.
[0:21:07 – 0:21:09] Erik: We’re like really one of the only countries that refrigerates eggs.
[0:21:09 – 0:21:10] Adam: I thought so.
[0:21:10 – 0:21:10] Adam: It’s the stupidest thing.
[0:21:11 – 0:21:12] Adam: It is.
[0:21:12 – 0:21:14] Adam: It’s like Costa Rica.
[0:21:14 – 0:21:16] Adam: It’s like 99 degrees and there’s just eggs.
[0:21:17 – 0:21:18] Adam: Yeah.
[0:21:18 – 0:21:19] Adam: Why would you waste cooler space?
[0:21:19 – 0:21:21] Adam: You need that for the giant can of margarita.
[0:21:21 – 0:21:22] Erik: Totally.
[0:21:22 – 0:21:23] Erik: That’s the other thing.
[0:21:23 – 0:21:28] Erik: There’s no refrigeration or freezers in people’s homes, so everybody goes out and buys stuff fresh daily.
[0:21:28 – 0:21:29] Erik: Yeah.
[0:21:29 – 0:21:33] Adam: It’s like a little short walk down to the little market.
[0:21:33 – 0:21:35] Adam: Get your hot eggs and your cold margarita.
[0:21:35 – 0:21:38] Erik: It’s the way that really it is the way people are supposed to live.
[0:21:38 – 0:21:43] Adam: I don’t remember seeing shredded Mexican style taco cheese in Costa Rica.
[0:21:44 – 0:21:45] Adam: I’m pretty sure they didn’t have it.
[0:21:45 – 0:21:46] Erik: No, there’s not.
[0:21:46 – 0:22:02] Erik: I would say the closest thing that you’re going to find, not even the closest thing, the main versions of cheese, as far as I was able to determine, and I have not traveled extensively in Mexico, almost specifically in just Baja, which by all accounts is just Mexico light.
[0:22:02 – 0:22:06] Erik: It’s like deep South California.
[0:22:06 – 0:22:07] Erik: Yeah.
[0:22:08 – 0:22:15] Erik: But I would say your hard crumbly like cotija, your Oaxacan, like highly meltable.
[0:22:15 – 0:22:16] Erik: That’s the stuff that you see that comes in like…
[0:22:17 – 0:22:19] Erik: It looks like a cheese stick, but they’ve got it all wrapped around.
[0:22:19 – 0:22:20] Erik: It’s like a ball.
[0:22:20 – 0:22:21] Erik: Oh, yeah.
[0:22:21 – 0:22:23] Erik: It’s like a knotted ball.
[0:22:23 – 0:22:23] Erik: Yeah.
[0:22:23 – 0:22:26] Erik: That stuff melts like better than anything.
[0:22:26 – 0:22:27] Erik: You could just…
[0:22:28 – 0:22:30] Erik: Throw that in a pan on its own.
[0:22:30 – 0:22:31] Erik: Melt it until it’s crispy on the bottom.
[0:22:32 – 0:22:33] Erik: Roll it up just on its own.
[0:22:33 – 0:22:34] Adam: Yes.
[0:22:34 – 0:22:35] Erik: Dip it in a little bit of salsa.
[0:22:35 – 0:22:36] Erik: That’s all you need.
[0:22:36 – 0:22:40] Erik: I mean, you’re just basically eating a crispy cheese log at that point.
[0:22:40 – 0:22:41] Adam: But that’s all.
[0:22:41 – 0:22:43] Adam: You are talking my language right now.
[0:22:43 – 0:22:53] Erik: In terms of like, I don’t know, that Mexican cheese is just like finely shredded cheddar cheese with like old El Paso taco seasoning sprinkled on it.
[0:22:53 – 0:22:54] Adam: And like powder.
[0:22:55 – 0:22:55] Erik: Yeah.
[0:22:55 – 0:22:56] Adam: Anti-caking powder.
[0:22:57 – 0:22:59] Adam: Yeah.
[0:22:59 – 0:23:00] Erik: I don’t think any of that’s good for you.
[0:23:01 – 0:23:01] Erik: It isn’t.
[0:23:03 – 0:23:07] Erik: I would not say it’s true authentic Mexican value.
[0:23:07 – 0:23:11] Adam: I’ve been hot on Taco Tuesdays like real standard Mexican.
[0:23:11 – 0:23:34] Adam: for a long time now i’ve been on a real streak and cinco de mayo happened to fall on a tuesday and so i did do tacos obviously for dinner um but i got the cotillo uh cotilla cotilla yeah and nice little dry crumb yeah uh pike helped me shred it up it’s kind of a mess depending on where you’re working with it you got to be a
[0:23:38 – 0:23:42] Adam: Yeah, that’s really got a little bit of funkiness to it.
[0:23:42 – 0:23:43] Adam: It’s sharp.
[0:23:43 – 0:23:44] Adam: It’s salty.
[0:23:44 – 0:23:44] Erik: Yeah, it’s good.
[0:23:45 – 0:23:49] Adam: Honestly, I’ve been doing that on my tacos for like three, four weeks now.
[0:23:49 – 0:23:53] Adam: Because one block of that, you can get good three nights of tacos out of.
[0:23:53 – 0:23:53] Erik: Totally, yeah.
[0:23:54 – 0:23:57] Adam: It’s for the same price as a bag of that ridiculous shred.
[0:23:57 – 0:24:07] Adam: Anyways, I’m all off on Mexican shredded cheese, and I’m honestly ashamed that I’ve been eating shredded cheese for this long and not doing cotija on taco night.
[0:24:07 – 0:24:33] Erik: yeah cortea i just wanted to make sure that i wasn’t like losing it but i was like there’s no way that they actually sell shredded cheese in mexico right like they just all do this it’s all like the i mean they there is shredded cheese but it’s usually bought in large block form and then shredded like if you go to a street taco stand and get like some queso birria like that’s all just like a big block of that oaxaca basically like
[0:24:34 – 0:24:49] Erik: it’s kind of like the comparable to like cotija to feta where it’s like not quite as crumbly not quite as dry and actually has a little bit of flavor and funk whereas like the comparison to like the Oaxaca is like a mozzarella
[0:24:50 – 0:25:05] Erik: melts just the same if not maybe a little bit better especially on like your taco flat top street stand but it also actually has a little bit of flavor too whereas like mozzarella just like pure mozzarella is like almost flavorless to me it’s like texture um
[0:25:06 – 0:25:17] Erik: Yeah, there’s a bunch of different kinds of cheeses and they almost all just come in like… Also, just like your straight up Lala, which is the… That’s the brand.
[0:25:17 – 0:25:18] Erik: Lala.
[0:25:19 – 0:25:22] Erik: It’s essentially sour cream, but it is…
[0:25:23 – 0:25:23] Erik: It’s like…
[0:25:24 – 0:25:41] Erik: it’s like yogurt it’s that consistency where it’s like way more creamy it’s crema yeah you know give me that instead of that like i don’t need a hard like i don’t need to like take a scoop of sour cream like ice cream i want to drizzle my sour cream yeah i need to drizzle my crema that’s how you got to do it baby
[0:25:42 – 0:25:42] SPEAKER_00: La la.
[0:25:43 – 0:25:44] SPEAKER_00: La la.
[0:25:44 – 0:25:48] Adam: That’s the sound of the palm warbler right there.
[0:25:48 – 0:25:51] Erik: Yeah, Merlin app firing up, noticing a new bird.
[0:25:51 – 0:25:52] Erik: It’s blinking right now.
[0:25:52 – 0:25:55] Adam: It’s like, feed that palm warbler some cheese.
[0:25:56 – 0:26:05] Erik: Yeah, feed that slowly but surely losing his tan gringo who’s been to Mexico three times and thinks he knows all about the cheese.
[0:26:05 – 0:26:07] Adam: You’re a resident cheese expert, Jim.
[0:26:08 – 0:26:09] Adam: Thank you for the lesson.
[0:26:09 – 0:26:09] Adam: No.
[0:26:10 – 0:26:16] Adam: Well, I’m glad to hear that, I don’t know, that Mexican cheese isn’t really from Mexico.
[0:26:17 – 0:26:23] Erik: Well, it’s like anything, you know, like… Fiesta blend.
[0:26:23 – 0:26:24] Erik: Yeah.
[0:26:24 – 0:26:35] Erik: Like, landing in Rome and going to the first pizza, like, the first, like, restaurant you find and just ask for, like, you know, the, like, can I get some chicken fettuccine Alfredo?
[0:26:35 – 0:26:36] Adam: Yeah.
[0:26:36 – 0:26:37] Erik: Like, eh…
[0:26:38 – 0:26:39] Adam: No.
[0:26:39 – 0:26:40] Adam: Yeah, no.
[0:26:40 – 0:26:45] Adam: As soon as I land at O’Hare, I’m just going to go up to the first person I see and demand a Chicago hug.
[0:26:46 – 0:26:50] Erik: Well, I mean, there’s pizzas that run the gamut.
[0:26:50 – 0:26:53] Erik: Again, I’m not a Chicago pizza expert, but I’ve been there a number of times.
[0:26:54 – 0:26:55] Erik: It’s a big city, too.
[0:26:55 – 0:26:59] Adam: I can’t remember the last time I was actually in Chicago and just trying to drive around it.
[0:27:00 – 0:27:03] Erik: Well, yeah, usually you are trying to avoid Chicago.
[0:27:03 – 0:27:06] Adam: Usually, like, I would go to Rockford to avoid Chicago, usually.
[0:27:06 – 0:27:07] Erik: Yeah.
[0:27:08 – 0:27:09] Adam: So, I don’t know.
[0:27:09 – 0:27:13] Adam: I just hope I get to see Boundary Waters Barbie and Pedal Faster.
[0:27:13 – 0:27:14] Erik: Nice, yeah.
[0:27:14 – 0:27:15] Adam: At least.
[0:27:15 – 0:27:19] Adam: And I think there’s at least a couple other tumblehummies that live in the Chicagoland area.
[0:27:21 – 0:27:47] Adam: um so yeah we’re gonna go see the church where macaulay culkin uh talks to the guy who’s burying his victims in the salt and we’re gonna i think there’s some chicago huh yeah i think there’s some i think like there are some movies that were filmed at the haunted hotel i’m staying in so we’re definitely gonna check those out i think there’s a we’re going to sierra pharrell concert you’re going to see a pharrell concert
[0:27:47 – 0:27:48] Adam: You have the salt shed?
[0:27:48 – 0:27:48] Adam: Yeah.
[0:27:49 – 0:27:49] Erik: Oh, wow.
[0:27:49 – 0:27:50] Adam: Holy moly.
[0:27:50 – 0:27:52] Adam: I thought this was a work trip.
[0:27:52 – 0:27:54] Adam: Yeah, we’re going to do a little bit of work.
[0:27:56 – 0:27:58] Adam: Things I’m not doing on a work trip.
[0:27:58 – 0:27:59] Adam: Number one, working.
[0:28:01 – 0:28:01] Adam: Yeah.
[0:28:01 – 0:28:03] Adam: Number two, staying sober.
[0:28:04 – 0:28:06] Adam: Number three, avoiding public transit.
[0:28:06 – 0:28:06] Adam: I’m doing all those.
[0:28:06 – 0:28:08] Erik: Number three, staying sober?
[0:28:08 – 0:28:12] Adam: We’re not doing that on a work trip, Jim.
[0:28:12 – 0:28:14] Adam: We’re wheeling and dealing, man.
[0:28:14 – 0:28:16] Adam: I got to make some deals on some deli product.
[0:28:17 – 0:28:18] Erik: Yeah.
[0:28:18 – 0:28:19] Adam: It’s part of the game.
[0:28:19 – 0:28:21] Adam: You got to wheel and deal.
[0:28:21 – 0:28:22] Adam: You got to wheel and deal.
[0:28:22 – 0:28:23] Adam: This is called doing business.
[0:28:23 – 0:28:24] Adam: What else are you going to do?
[0:28:24 – 0:28:27] Adam: I’m not wearing a collared shirt to not wheel and deal.
[0:28:27 – 0:28:27] Erik: Yeah.
[0:28:28 – 0:28:37] Erik: I’m not a pizza purist in any sense of the form, but the one that I do sort of get my hackles up a little bit over is Deep Dish.
[0:28:38 – 0:28:39] Erik: I don’t think it’s pizza.
[0:28:40 – 0:28:40] Adam: Yeah.
[0:28:40 – 0:28:41] Adam: What is Deep Dish pizza?
[0:28:42 – 0:28:42] Erik: I don’t know.
[0:28:42 – 0:28:44] Erik: It’s lasagna, basically.
[0:28:44 – 0:28:44] Adam: I’ll try it.
[0:28:45 – 0:28:45] Adam: I like lasagna.
[0:28:46 – 0:28:49] Adam: I’m like a goddamn Garfield out here paddling my canoe around.
[0:28:49 – 0:28:50] Adam: I’m hungry.
[0:28:50 – 0:28:54] Adam: I do remember… Hungry Wayne wants his lasagna.
[0:28:54 – 0:28:59] Erik: My first trip ever to Chicago was in college and to visit friends that were going to school there.
[0:28:59 – 0:29:01] Erik: I do remember Lou Malnati’s
[0:29:02 – 0:29:03] Erik: That is the go-to in terms of…
[0:29:03 – 0:29:04] Adam: I’m pretty sure that’s what Brother said.
[0:29:04 – 0:29:07] Adam: Brother recommended, I think, Lou Malnati.
[0:29:08 – 0:29:08] Adam: What is it?
[0:29:08 – 0:29:10] Adam: The Luminati?
[0:29:10 – 0:29:10] Adam: Yes.
[0:29:10 – 0:29:12] Erik: The Illuminati.
[0:29:12 – 0:29:13] Erik: Yeah.
[0:29:13 – 0:29:14] Erik: Illuminati pizza.
[0:29:14 – 0:29:16] Adam: I’m pretty sure you find that.
[0:29:16 – 0:29:17] Adam: That’s just off Wabash.
[0:29:17 – 0:29:20] Erik: Just off Wabash.
[0:29:20 – 0:29:21] Erik: Up in Lincoln Park.
[0:29:22 – 0:29:25] Adam: Yeah, it’s at the top of the Sears Tower gym.
[0:29:26 – 0:29:26] Adam: Excellent.
[0:29:26 – 0:29:29] Adam: Well, we’ve got a lot of exciting trips.
[0:29:29 – 0:29:32] Adam: I wonder what kind of birds they’re going to have down there in downtown Chicago.
[0:29:33 – 0:29:33] Erik: I don’t know.
[0:29:33 – 0:29:37] Erik: I mean, probably lots of dusty gray pigeons.
[0:29:37 – 0:29:38] Adam: What are we cranking on here?
[0:29:39 – 0:29:39] Adam: Pigeons.
[0:29:40 – 0:29:43] Erik: Yeah, they should have done the one, you know, there’s like…
[0:29:43 – 0:29:46] Erik: Seven or eight different kinds of pigeon.
[0:29:46 – 0:29:51] Erik: Aspect of when some of those nature shows got to a point where it’s like, we’ve been everywhere.
[0:29:52 – 0:29:55] SPEAKER_00: What about the animals that live in the city?
[0:29:56 – 0:29:58] Erik: That’s exactly what it’s going to be like.
[0:29:58 – 0:30:03] Adam: I’ll do a live in the field episode from downtown Chicago.
[0:30:03 – 0:30:04] Adam: Yeah, I would have loved that.
[0:30:04 – 0:30:08] Adam: I’ll fish the river for carp and I’ll see what kind of pigeons I can get.
[0:30:08 – 0:30:10] Erik: A little epilogue to Lister’s.
[0:30:11 – 0:30:14] Erik: It’s like we did the shorebirds, we did the ocean birds, now we’re just in the cities.
[0:30:15 – 0:30:17] Erik: Just getting gulls and broken winged.
[0:30:19 – 0:30:43] Adam: pigeons yeah i want to i want to uh share a moment with that nice turtle dove lady in the park yeah that’s the other that’s that one was in new york uh not gonna lie i messed that up bad share the one moment with her before you just abscond back to your rich family leaving her to fend for herself with her one of two turtle dove little porcelain

[0:31:05 – 0:31:09] Erik: If you let me come up to your penthouse suite, ding, dang, dong.
[0:31:09 – 0:31:18] Adam: Should I come up and maybe open one of the 1,018 presents you somehow have at the penthouse suite of the… Yeah, no.
[0:31:18 – 0:31:23] Erik: No, we’re just going to look down from where we’re partying at you.
[0:31:23 – 0:31:23] Erik: Waved you.
[0:31:24 – 0:31:24] Adam: Yeah.
[0:31:24 – 0:31:28] Adam: Waved you from our balcony with seven chandeliers on it.
[0:31:28 – 0:31:30] Erik: You see that large shrub down there?
[0:31:30 – 0:31:32] Erik: That’s actually a woman covered in pigeons.
[0:31:32 – 0:31:33] Erik: She’s my friend.
[0:31:33 – 0:31:34] Erik: Shut up.
[0:31:35 – 0:31:35] Adam: She’s birding.
[0:31:36 – 0:31:37] Adam: She’s birding.
[0:31:37 – 0:31:40] Adam: She’s cranking on urban birds all left, right, and center.
[0:31:41 – 0:31:42] Adam: She’s got listers every day.
[0:31:42 – 0:31:47] Erik: They should do a big year, but it’s just all birds that you have to physically touch.
[0:31:47 – 0:31:49] Erik: Big year Manhattan, you’ve got to touch them.
[0:31:50 – 0:31:52] Adam: Yeah, you’ve got to touch them.
[0:31:52 – 0:31:53] Adam: Big year Manhattan.
[0:31:53 – 0:31:56] Adam: You don’t get to ID them by sight or by song, only by touch.
[0:31:57 – 0:31:57] Erik: Yeah.
[0:31:57 – 0:31:59] Adam: Yeah, if you can touch them, it counts.
[0:31:59 – 0:32:02] Erik: And the same species counts multiple times.
[0:32:02 – 0:32:07] Adam: Yeah, you’re going to get like seven different kinds of pigeon, probably Mordecai the falcon.
[0:32:07 – 0:32:10] Adam: You can tempt them over there.
[0:32:10 – 0:32:11] Adam: Yeah.
[0:32:11 – 0:32:12] Adam: Get the little hood.
[0:32:13 – 0:32:14] Erik: I watched Hamnet last night.
[0:32:15 – 0:32:17] Erik: Could watch that for Bird Month.
[0:32:17 – 0:32:19] Erik: There’s some falconry in that movie.
[0:32:19 – 0:32:21] Adam: So much falconry in cinema.
[0:32:21 – 0:32:21] Erik: Yeah.
[0:32:22 – 0:32:23] Erik: Well, it’s a big year for birds.
[0:32:23 – 0:32:23] Erik: Yeah.
[0:32:24 – 0:32:24] Adam: Man.
[0:32:26 – 0:32:27] Adam: Big year for birds.
[0:32:27 – 0:32:27] Adam: Big year.
[0:32:27 – 0:32:30] Adam: You’re on Humble Home Sports Network.
[0:32:33 – 0:32:35] Erik: Well, we’re already a half hour in.
[0:32:35 – 0:32:36] Erik: We could just do this all night.
[0:32:36 – 0:32:38] Erik: I could literally just…
[0:32:38 – 0:32:53] Erik: I would love, like, the last episode of the show should just be a six-hour basically just us just going back and forth and see until maybe… Will they ever run out of energy?
[0:32:53 – 0:32:53] Erik: Never.
[0:32:53 – 0:32:54] Erik: And or banter?
[0:32:54 – 0:32:58] Adam: I’ll run out of energy when I run out of carrot cake beer with chunks.
[0:32:58 – 0:32:59] Erik: Yeah, well, I’m, yeah.
[0:32:59 – 0:33:01] Adam: This is a really, actually, I’m enjoying this.
[0:33:02 – 0:33:03] Adam: I’m actually enjoying this.
[0:33:03 – 0:33:08] Adam: I wasn’t sure about it, especially when I got the globs or whatever, but cake chunks.
[0:33:08 – 0:33:11] Erik: The globs almost caused me to throw up in my own nose.
[0:33:11 – 0:33:20] Adam: I’m going to have to definitely remember to brush my teeth tonight after I prep those croissants for Mother’s Day because I’m getting sugared up, Jim.
[0:33:20 – 0:33:20] Adam: Yeah.
[0:33:20 – 0:33:20] Adam: Yeah.
[0:33:21 – 0:33:23] Erik: I’m getting sugared up like R.C.
[0:33:23 – 0:33:25] Erik: Kingman at Birch Lake.
[0:33:25 – 0:33:28] Adam: Ready for the big, I’m rubbing my feathers together over here.
[0:33:28 – 0:33:29] Adam: Together.
[0:33:30 – 0:33:34] Adam: How much sugar is in these carrot cake beers?
[0:33:34 – 0:33:36] Adam: Kate and Em, what are you guys doing to us?
[0:33:37 – 0:33:38] Adam: Very excited.
[0:33:40 – 0:33:42] Adam: I am literally on the edge of my seat.
[0:33:42 – 0:33:45] Erik: Before I keep drinking this, though, tumblehomecast at gmail.com.
[0:33:46 – 0:33:47] Erik: Are there supposed to be chunks?
[0:33:47 – 0:33:48] Adam: Please let us know.
[0:33:49 – 0:33:49] Adam: We’ve got to know.
[0:33:50 – 0:33:56] Adam: It’s too late for me, but just for anybody else who’s considering going to the Brewing Works Project.
[0:33:56 – 0:33:57] Adam: The Brewing Project.
[0:33:58 – 0:33:58] Adam: Where is this from?
[0:33:58 – 0:34:00] Adam: Does it say anything about solids on the side?
[0:34:01 – 0:34:02] Adam: I’m going to try and read this.
[0:34:02 – 0:34:03] Adam: The light, Jim.
[0:34:04 – 0:34:05] Erik: Can I pour mine through?
[0:34:06 – 0:34:07] Adam: No strainers allowed.
[0:34:07 – 0:34:07] Adam: No.
[0:34:08 – 0:34:08] Adam: It does say that.
[0:34:08 – 0:34:09] Adam: It’s like a zombie.
[0:34:10 – 0:34:12] Adam: No, it’s a skeleton riding a moped on the cover.
[0:34:12 – 0:34:13] Erik: It says it right on the side.
[0:34:14 – 0:34:15] Erik: No strainers allowed.
[0:34:15 – 0:34:16] Adam: No straining allowed.
[0:34:17 – 0:34:18] Adam: It doesn’t say anything about it.
[0:34:20 – 0:34:22] Erik: You’d think that they would want to warn there.
[0:34:22 – 0:34:22] Adam: Maybe, yeah.
[0:34:24 – 0:34:25] Adam: Maybe warn you, but I don’t know.
[0:34:25 – 0:34:26] Adam: Maybe that’s part of the magic.
[0:34:27 – 0:34:28] Adam: That’s part of the appeal.
[0:34:29 – 0:34:29] SPEAKER_00: Surprise choice.
[0:34:30 – 0:34:31] Adam: A little surprise.
[0:34:31 – 0:34:32] Erik: A little surprise in your mouth.
[0:34:33 – 0:34:34] Adam: It’s going to make me weep.
[0:34:34 – 0:34:36] Erik: Here comes the back rub.
[0:34:38 – 0:34:40] Adam: Why is this beard winking at me, Jim?
[0:34:44 – 0:34:45] Erik: Oh, it’s a beautiful meme.
[0:34:49 – 0:34:51] Adam: Yeah, meme of the tournament so far.
[0:34:53 – 0:34:56] Adam: Coming in hot from dear friend of the show, Admiral Geary.
[0:34:56 – 0:34:57] Erik: Puma breeder.
[0:34:58 – 0:35:01] Adam: Notorious puma breeder.
[0:35:02 – 0:35:07] Adam: Hovland’s finest and a hell of a dancer as well.
[0:35:07 – 0:35:09] Adam: Great plumage.
[0:35:10 – 0:35:10] Adam: Admiral Geary.
[0:35:11 – 0:35:12] Adam: Cryptic moves.
[0:35:12 – 0:35:13] Adam: Cryptic plumage.
[0:35:13 – 0:35:13] Adam: Yeah.
[0:35:15 – 0:35:20] Adam: He’s got the wiggle of the woodcock and the beak of a stork.
[0:35:21 – 0:35:22] Adam: Wow.
[0:35:22 – 0:35:27] Adam: Coming in with a great grouse meme based on the Geese album, Getting Killed.
[0:35:28 – 0:35:28] Erik: By grouse.
[0:35:28 – 0:35:29] Adam: By grouse.
[0:35:30 – 0:35:36] Erik: I don’t know why or how the album photoshopping turned, but it’s been pretty great.
[0:35:36 – 0:35:42] Erik: I was like, honestly, I had to do some deep research on that Thrush, the Rush album.
[0:35:42 – 0:35:42] Adam: Yes.
[0:35:42 – 0:35:44] Adam: I was like, what is this?
[0:35:44 – 0:35:46] Erik: Oh, it’s an actual album.
[0:35:46 – 0:35:46] Erik: Yeah.
[0:35:47 – 0:35:51] Erik: So second shout out for me on the Cheap Dancer.
[0:35:51 – 0:35:51] Erik: Obviously.
[0:35:52 – 0:35:53] Erik: What is it?
[0:35:54 – 0:35:55] Erik: Electric Windows?
[0:35:55 – 0:35:56] Erik: Power Windows?
[0:35:56 – 0:35:56] Erik: Yes.
[0:35:57 – 0:35:58] Adam: Now I’m going to have to go pull it up.
[0:35:58 – 0:36:09] Erik: I think it’s Power Windows, and it’s just the only thing that has changed is Rush has been changed to Thrush, and there is just a little Thrush sitting on the hand of the boy next to the window.
[0:36:13 – 0:36:14] Adam: Power Windows.
[0:36:14 – 0:36:15] Adam: Yeah, that one.
[0:36:15 – 0:36:16] Adam: Yeah.
[0:36:16 – 0:36:17] Adam: There you go.
[0:36:17 – 0:36:18] Adam: 14 upvotes for that one.
[0:36:18 – 0:36:21] Adam: That’s absolutely deserving of the 14 upvotes.
[0:36:23 – 0:36:38] Erik: Actual quality of the music notwithstanding, to my dying day, I will argue to death that Art Rock and Prog Rock album covers are by far the greatest in just music history.
[0:36:39 – 0:36:43] Erik: Some of the best album artwork of all time has come out of prog rock.
[0:36:44 – 0:36:48] Erik: And that one is a special one, too, that wasn’t even on my radar.
[0:36:48 – 0:36:55] Adam: There’s been a lot of AI bird wrestling memes being posted, which are also fun.
[0:36:55 – 0:37:19] Erik: obviously but it’s nice to see the old-fashioned photoshop job i love to see an old-fashioned photoshop job for sure i love it i do appreciate the one usage so far that i’ve seen for ai that seems useful and that is just making uh uh bird fights in wrestling rings come to life draw that yeah
[0:37:20 – 0:37:27] Erik: I don’t know if I necessarily appreciate the throat of a cedar waxwing being eaten out in graphic detail, but to each their own.
[0:37:28 – 0:37:29] Adam: It was getting eaten out for sure.
[0:37:31 – 0:37:49] Adam: Jim went ahead and took the liberty of pouring the carrot beer into an actual glass, and we were looking at the ingredients, and it is definitely listed as carrot puree.
[0:37:50 – 0:37:51] Erik: Sifting for chunks.
[0:37:51 – 0:37:55] Adam: And so the chunks are definitely carrots.
[0:37:55 – 0:37:59] Adam: It looks like it’s pureed, but all the chunks are holding in this foam.
[0:37:59 – 0:38:02] Adam: It’s a very robust foam on top of this beer.
[0:38:02 – 0:38:07] Erik: It almost looks like you should drink that with a big milkshake straw.
[0:38:07 – 0:38:16] Adam: Yeah, we could get one big cup, pour both of these in there, and then get two straws and Lady and the Tramp this thing like Sandra Bullock.
[0:38:16 – 0:38:17] Erik: The blind side?
[0:38:17 – 0:38:18] Adam: Yeah.
[0:38:20 – 0:38:21] Adam: Yeah, whatever.
[0:38:21 – 0:38:23] Adam: This isn’t a bird box scenario anymore.
[0:38:23 – 0:38:24] Adam: This is now the blind side.
[0:38:25 – 0:38:27] Erik: Cedric Bullock in the blind side.
[0:38:27 – 0:38:31] Adam: I’m trying to figure out where this brewery is from, honestly, and I can’t tell.
[0:38:31 – 0:38:32] Adam: Their can doesn’t say anything.
[0:38:33 – 0:38:35] Erik: Oh, it’s on there, but you got to turn it sideways.
[0:38:35 – 0:38:35] Erik: I can’t.
[0:38:35 – 0:38:36] Erik: Eau Claire.
[0:38:36 – 0:38:37] Adam: Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
[0:38:38 – 0:38:45] Erik: Well, I’ve cracked into the peanut butter double stuffed stout brewed with chocolate banana peanuts.
[0:38:45 – 0:38:50] Erik: If there’s floating peanuts in here, I will punch a hole in my wall.
[0:38:50 – 0:38:51] Adam: Don’t worry, Jim.
[0:38:51 – 0:38:52] Adam: The peanuts sink.
[0:38:52 – 0:38:54] Adam: You can get them all at the end.
[0:39:02 – 0:39:25] Erik: there’s no chunks no so we’re starting out bad too bad for you you could make a little uh what’s the snake is that a snake bite where you pour uh guinness on top of a cider um you gotta get you gotta bend the spoon there was a point in my life snake bites like lime roses lime juice and like uh what’s a what’s a snake is a snake bite
[0:39:26 – 0:39:28] Erik: What’s a Guinness on top of a cider?
[0:39:29 – 0:39:30] Erik: Remember those?
[0:39:30 – 0:39:32] Erik: There was a point in my life where I had multiple…
[0:39:33 – 0:39:43] Erik: I’d pull my drawer out just to get a fork or something, and there would be two or three of those specifically bent spoons so you could pour the beer on top of the cider.
[0:39:43 – 0:39:43] Erik: Yeah, I don’t know.
[0:39:43 – 0:39:44] Erik: I used to…
[0:39:44 – 0:39:47] Adam: You will have to look that one up on the internet to get the right answer.
[0:39:49 – 0:39:50] Adam: He’s going to do it.
[0:39:51 – 0:39:52] Erik: No, we got to focus here.
[0:39:52 – 0:39:57] Erik: We could be here all night looking up drink recipes for chunky Irish treats.
[0:39:57 – 0:40:02] Erik: But we got to get to the remaining 32 birds in this tournament.
[0:40:02 – 0:40:02] Erik: We got 32 left.
[0:40:04 – 0:40:09] Erik: can do their own due diligence on the bendy spoon drinks.
[0:40:09 – 0:40:12] Adam: Yeah, they can probably fend for themselves.
[0:40:13 – 0:40:15] Adam: We do have 32 teams.
[0:40:16 – 0:40:27] Adam: We’re going to get down to 16 by the end of this evening, and neither one of us have looked ahead or been spoiled in any fashion, so we are calling this one live and fresh.
[0:40:28 – 0:40:28] Adam: Looking good.
[0:40:29 – 0:40:29] Adam: Feeling fine, Jim.
[0:40:30 – 0:40:34] Erik: The only thing spoiled in this room is that carrot cake beer you’re drinking.
[0:40:35 – 0:40:44] Adam: Yeah, it’s like I haven’t had something this good since I ate fermented spider eyes.
[0:40:45 – 0:40:46] Erik: Wow, when did you do that?
[0:40:46 – 0:40:53] Adam: You just mix brown mushrooms, sugar, and spider eyes in a cauldron and let it sit for 24 hours.
[0:40:54 – 0:40:55] Erik: Where do you get a cauldron these days?
[0:40:55 – 0:40:56] Erik: Is that at Farm and Fleet or-
[0:40:57 – 0:41:03] Adam: Yeah, you’re going to want to definitely go to A-plus Garden Center in Twigg, Minnesota to get your finest cauldrons.
[0:41:03 – 0:41:04] Erik: Only in Twigg.
[0:41:04 – 0:41:08] Adam: Yeah, that’s where I get all of my cauldrons and most of my stuff.
[0:41:08 – 0:41:09] Adam: All of my trees.
[0:41:12 – 0:41:13] Adam: And all of my peacocks.
[0:41:13 – 0:41:19] Adam: Beacon and Birds, they have a really nice selection of peacocks up there, and they’re not in the tournament, but they are stunning, Jim.
[0:41:19 – 0:41:19] Erik: Yeah.
[0:41:20 – 0:41:21] Adam: Twig, Minnesota.
[0:41:21 – 0:41:22] Adam: For the good times.
[0:41:22 – 0:41:22] Adam: Yeah.
[0:41:23 – 0:41:23] Adam: They also got a prison.
[0:41:24 – 0:41:25] Erik: They got a prison.
[0:41:25 – 0:41:26] Erik: For the even better times.
[0:41:26 – 0:41:29] Adam: Not run by the municipal dump either.
[0:41:29 – 0:41:31] Adam: This is just a normal American prison.
[0:41:31 – 0:41:33] Erik: Just a normal American prison.
[0:41:34 – 0:41:36] Adam: For violent offenders.
[0:41:38 – 0:41:39] Erik: Cauldrons and stuff.
[0:41:39 – 0:41:42] Adam: A lot of them are in there for illegal use of cauldron.
[0:41:43 – 0:41:45] Erik: A store in the middle of nowhere called cauldrons and stuff.
[0:41:48 – 0:41:49] Adam: And bait.
[0:41:50 – 0:41:53] Erik: Yes, cauldrons and stuff and live bait.
[0:41:53 – 0:41:55] Adam: We got vials for your potions.
[0:41:55 – 0:41:58] Erik: Cauldrons and stuff.
[0:41:58 – 0:42:03] Erik: Chubs.
[0:42:03 – 0:42:05] Erik: Cauldrons, chubs, and stuff.
[0:42:05 – 0:42:07] Adam: Yeah.
[0:42:07 – 0:42:08] Adam: And firewood.
[0:42:08 – 0:42:09] Adam: Five bucks a bundle.
[0:42:09 – 0:42:09] Adam: Wow.
[0:42:10 – 0:42:11] Erik: Five’s cheap these days.
[0:42:11 – 0:42:12] Adam: You need it to heat your cauldron.
[0:42:13 – 0:42:13] Adam: You might as well.
[0:42:13 – 0:42:16] Adam: It’s just called being smart to pick it up here at cauldrons and stuff.
[0:42:16 – 0:42:19] Adam: We have the best hardwood.
[0:42:19 – 0:42:26] Adam: We’re going to start out tonight’s coverage here on Tumble Home Sports Network, of course, in pristine Birch Lake.
[0:42:26 – 0:42:30] Erik: Pristine, blistering HD for those of you tuning in on…
[0:42:32 – 0:42:50] Adam: you know uh yeah we are on live on youtube live on uh yeah live on youtube i got my blazer out and i did my hair up real nice so as long as the cameras don’t falter we’re definitely gonna have that up on youtube later i’m sure nothing will happen to them like getting a bunch of carrot cake beer spilled all over them or something that would never happen
[0:42:51 – 0:43:16] Adam: no not in the history of tumble home is something that crazy happened chunky cam you got too many chunks in all the ports uh yeah it’s going down real good jim do you want to do uh do you have a lock of the week oh yeah predictions what are we doing i have a up i don’t yeah i do have an upset of the week an upset and a lock and a lock both the same or different
[0:43:17 – 0:43:18] Adam: No, I’m not going to lock my upset.
[0:43:18 – 0:43:19] Adam: That would be insane.
[0:43:19 – 0:43:21] Adam: That would be an insane thing to do.
[0:43:21 – 0:43:22] Adam: Lock the upset.
[0:43:22 – 0:43:26] Adam: I want to start with my upset of the week, and it is here in Birch Lake.
[0:43:26 – 0:43:28] Adam: So maybe we’ll just take these as we come.
[0:43:28 – 0:43:30] Adam: If you have anything to shout out, let me know.
[0:43:30 – 0:43:33] Adam: But I’m going for my upset of the week early this week, Jim.
[0:43:33 – 0:43:40] Adam: It’s the 12-seed RC Kinglet wearing very short shorts and having a miraculous hairdo.
[0:43:41 – 0:43:44] Adam: I’m calling it also a bonus call out.
[0:43:44 – 0:43:46] Adam: I’m going for eight three-pointers made by R.C.
[0:43:46 – 0:43:52] Adam: Kinglett to take the Ruby Crowns through into the Sweet 16 here in Birch Lake.
[0:43:52 – 0:43:55] Adam: And I did see Tim Walls out there.
[0:43:55 – 0:44:02] Adam: He caught a bunch of walleyes, and me and him hung out and watched this game, and it was a really good game.
[0:44:02 – 0:44:03] Erik: What was he using?
[0:44:04 – 0:44:06] Erik: Jigging a curly tail, I hoped.
[0:44:06 – 0:44:07] Adam: Yeah, obviously.
[0:44:08 – 0:44:16] Adam: He’s a fan of Tumble Home Sports Network, and he knows what wins tournaments here on Tumble Home Sports Network is also good on the lake.
[0:44:16 – 0:44:20] Adam: Good on land is good on the water, and that’s good enough for me and Tim.
[0:44:20 – 0:44:23] Adam: Me and Tim.
[0:44:23 – 0:44:27] Adam: Yeah, that’s my upset pick of the week there is the 12 seed.
[0:44:27 – 0:44:28] Erik: Saturdays with Tim.
[0:44:29 – 0:44:30] Adam: Saturdays with Tim.
[0:44:30 – 0:44:30] Adam: On the lake.
[0:44:30 – 0:44:31] Adam: On Birch Lake.
[0:44:31 – 0:44:31] Adam: Pristine.
[0:44:31 – 0:44:32] Adam: Pristine.
[0:44:33 – 0:44:39] Adam: Yeah, that 12 seed is going to, I will predict, take out the four seed great blue herons.
[0:44:39 – 0:44:40] Adam: Wow.
[0:44:40 – 0:44:42] Adam: That is my upset pick of the week.
[0:44:42 – 0:44:45] Erik: I don’t know if I agree with you on that one, but we’ll wait and see what happens.
[0:44:45 – 0:44:47] Erik: Upset picks are hard to make.
[0:44:47 – 0:44:49] Adam: Mine failed last week, big time.
[0:44:50 – 0:44:53] Adam: So, you know, take them as you will.
[0:44:54 – 0:44:56] Erik: Do you want to just go and do your lock?
[0:44:57 – 0:44:59] Adam: Do you have an upset or a lock you want to get in on?
[0:45:00 – 0:45:07] Erik: I don’t know if I have necessarily an upset because I don’t have much faith in any of the current…
[0:45:09 – 0:45:11] Erik: upset sweethearts that are still alive.
[0:45:12 – 0:45:13] Erik: The only one that comes close to…
[0:45:14 – 0:45:15] Adam: It’s the second round.
[0:45:15 – 0:45:18] Adam: I mean, you can take a six over a three and call it your upset pick of the week.
[0:45:18 – 0:45:18] Adam: That’s true.
[0:45:18 – 0:45:23] Erik: I’m getting a mild sense from the community that the Mallards are not so hot.
[0:45:24 – 0:45:29] Erik: So I’ll say I’ve got a mild potential for an upset.
[0:45:29 – 0:45:31] Erik: The Blue Jays beating the Mallards.
[0:45:31 – 0:45:31] Adam: All right.
[0:45:31 – 0:45:32] Adam: I like that a lot.
[0:45:33 – 0:45:36] Adam: And I will stick with the Zax Zim Bog.
[0:45:37 – 0:45:43] Adam: Our field correspondent, Monica, is out there along with Charles Barkley, apparently, at these games.
[0:45:43 – 0:45:43] Erik: Oh, yeah.
[0:45:43 – 0:45:49] Adam: And so I’m excited to hear from their reports later this evening from the Zax Zimbog.
[0:45:49 – 0:45:51] Adam: But I’m going to call my lock of the week.
[0:45:51 – 0:45:55] Adam: Right now is the ruby-throated hummingbirds, the four-seed.
[0:45:55 – 0:45:58] Erik: Chunk, chunk, chunk, chunk, chunky beers.
[0:45:59 – 0:45:59] Adam: Lock them in.
[0:46:00 – 0:46:07] Adam: Hummingbirds love carrots, and they’re going to absolutely destroy the common merganser five-seed.
[0:46:07 – 0:46:10] Adam: That’s my lock of the week, Jim.
[0:46:10 – 0:46:12] Erik: It’s going to buzz cut that hair right off.
[0:46:13 – 0:46:14] Adam: Yeah, absolutely.
[0:46:14 – 0:46:20] Adam: I mean, everybody knows the coach of the Common Merganser is a real shit for brains.
[0:46:20 – 0:46:24] Adam: And we just locked in my brother’s calci bet guaranteed.
[0:46:24 – 0:46:29] Adam: He put he put 10 grand on it that I was going to actually say it out live on air.
[0:46:30 – 0:46:31] Adam: And I just did.
[0:46:31 – 0:46:33] Adam: So that’s how you insider trade, folks.
[0:46:33 – 0:46:36] Erik: I was going to say, it just sounds like you’re manipulating the market at this point.
[0:46:36 – 0:46:38] Adam: And that’s totally legal and totally cool.
[0:46:38 – 0:46:42] Adam: So me and Brother Andrew just paid for our next trip to Oktoberfest on that one.
[0:46:42 – 0:46:45] Adam: And thank you to the ruby-throated hummingbirds for making it happen.
[0:46:45 – 0:46:48] Adam: We’re going to show those common mergansers who’s boss tonight.
[0:46:49 – 0:46:51] Adam: And, yeah.
[0:46:51 – 0:47:01] Adam: I was looking at the markets before I came over tonight, and there’s a lot of money flowing on the birdament on the dark web tonight, Jim.
[0:47:03 – 0:47:04] Erik: There just sometimes has to be.
[0:47:04 – 0:47:07] Erik: Did you draw these bracket lines by hand, or did you get a little…
[0:47:07 – 0:47:10] Adam: I had a little straight edge.
[0:47:10 – 0:47:13] Adam: But, yeah, I mean, the spacing’s a little wonky on them.
[0:47:13 – 0:47:14] Adam: That was definitely eyeballed.
[0:47:15 – 0:47:18] Adam: I tried to measure out at least the quadrants for…
[0:47:18 – 0:47:22] Adam: But then, you know, the individual matchups, I did have to draw them in by hand.
[0:47:22 – 0:47:23] Erik: Nice.
[0:47:23 – 0:47:24] Adam: You know, I drew them here.
[0:47:24 – 0:47:26] Erik: My lock of the week coming up.
[0:47:26 – 0:47:26] Adam: Singrix.
[0:47:26 – 0:47:27] Erik: Yeah.
[0:47:27 – 0:47:28] Erik: First in the heart, then on the page.
[0:47:29 – 0:47:30] Adam: Yeah.
[0:47:30 – 0:47:35] Erik: Coming from the last 40, my lock of the week, which probably would have been my lock last week if I could have seen it.
[0:47:35 – 0:47:37] Erik: But now we’ve got things organized a little bit better here.
[0:47:38 – 0:47:41] Erik: I’m locking in the Kingfishers.
[0:47:41 – 0:47:42] Adam: He’s doing it.
[0:47:42 – 0:47:45] Adam: I’m going to put the little lock logo here by it.
[0:47:46 – 0:47:46] Adam: There we go.
[0:47:47 – 0:47:47] Erik: Locks are on.
[0:47:50 – 0:47:55] Adam: And we’re going to put a little star by the Blue Jay over here and by the RC Kinglet.
[0:47:57 – 0:47:59] Adam: And, yeah, we’re looking real good.
[0:47:59 – 0:47:59] Adam: Looking good.
[0:48:00 – 0:48:01] Adam: Feeling fine over there.
[0:48:01 – 0:48:03] Adam: The Scarlet Tanager probably has no chance.
[0:48:05 – 0:48:07] Adam: I was actually pretty surprised that they got by the Nuthatches.
[0:48:07 – 0:48:09] Adam: I was more than surprised.
[0:48:09 – 0:48:10] Adam: It was a close one, too.
[0:48:10 – 0:48:13] Adam: They just barely squeaked by the Nuthatches in round one.
[0:48:14 – 0:48:16] Adam: Meanwhile, the Kingfishers absolutely…
[0:48:17 – 0:48:20] Adam: hammered the American Red Starts in round one.
[0:48:20 – 0:48:22] Adam: So I feel like that’s a pretty strong lock.
[0:48:23 – 0:48:29] Adam: Yeah, the Ruby Throateds did just barely get by the cute Downey Woodpecker in the cutest matchup of round one.
[0:48:30 – 0:48:35] Adam: But the Merganser, while the Merganser did actually, they’d really whipped the winter rent over there.
[0:48:35 – 0:48:37] Adam: So I don’t know.
[0:48:37 – 0:48:44] Adam: I know I’m going in places I shouldn’t, going against the wet bird.
[0:48:44 – 0:48:44] Erik: Mm-hmm.
[0:48:45 – 0:48:46] Adam: The big wet bird.
[0:48:47 – 0:48:49] Erik: People love a big wet bird.
[0:48:49 – 0:48:53] Adam: I’m going both my picks are little birds with cool little red hairdos.
[0:48:54 – 0:48:54] Erik: Yeah.
[0:48:54 – 0:48:57] Adam: I’m going RC kinglet and ruby-throated hummingbirds.
[0:48:57 – 0:49:00] Adam: Maybe the two smallest birds left in the tournament.
[0:49:00 – 0:49:00] Adam: What have I done, Jim?
[0:49:01 – 0:49:02] Adam: Why’d you let me do this?
[0:49:03 – 0:49:04] Adam: I’m going to be absolutely embarrassed.
[0:49:04 – 0:49:10] Erik: There’s only one way to live the way you want to see the world be.
[0:49:10 – 0:49:10] Adam: That’s right.
[0:49:10 – 0:49:15] Adam: You know, and you got to be brave and be willing to be wrong.
[0:49:15 – 0:49:16] Adam: Also, you’re going to be in this game.
[0:49:17 – 0:49:20] Adam: That’s why we get paid the big bucks here at Tomahawk Sports Network.
[0:49:21 – 0:49:30] Erik: Also, note, before we start revealing some of these matchups to y’all, the week is a little shorter.
[0:49:31 – 0:49:33] Erik: Now that there are fewer games to vote on.
[0:49:33 – 0:49:34] Erik: Is it going to be shorter?
[0:49:34 – 0:49:36] Erik: The Sweet 16 does end Wednesday.
[0:49:39 – 0:49:40] Erik: Oh, we’re doubling up now?
[0:49:40 – 0:49:40] Erik: Yeah.
[0:49:40 – 0:49:42] Erik: So we’ll have two rounds to go through.
[0:49:42 – 0:49:45] Adam: So next week will be the Sweet 16 and the Elite 8?
[0:49:45 – 0:49:46] Adam: Correct.
[0:49:46 – 0:49:49] Adam: And then the week after that will be the Final Four and the Championships.
[0:49:49 – 0:49:51] Adam: Who’s going to end up in the champion’s nest?
[0:49:51 – 0:49:58] Erik: But then because of the way that we have to do this in two sides, then we have to set up one last one for the final four.
[0:49:59 – 0:49:59] Adam: Got it.
[0:49:59 – 0:49:59] Adam: Okay.
[0:50:00 – 0:50:02] Erik: And that’ll be all in one last one.
[0:50:02 – 0:50:09] Adam: Somewhere in there, too, we’re going to throw the flyaway home TCC into the main feed there for you all.
[0:50:09 – 0:50:15] Adam: Maybe, I don’t know, Eric’s in charge of the scheduling on that one, but I am looking forward to hearing that one on there, too.
[0:50:15 – 0:50:16] Erik: Yeah, I’ve got to find it.
[0:50:16 – 0:50:22] Erik: I honestly don’t even know if I have physical control of the actual original copy.
[0:50:22 – 0:50:26] Adam: Are you saying the flyaway home TCC has escaped the lab?
[0:50:26 – 0:50:28] Erik: Oh, yeah, I think it has escaped the lab.
[0:50:28 – 0:50:30] Erik: It’s like the Wuhan of TCCs.
[0:50:30 – 0:50:32] Adam: Oh, man, you put that TCC in the wet market.
[0:50:34 – 0:50:35] Adam: What have you done, sir?
[0:50:35 – 0:50:36] Erik: Oh, no.
[0:50:36 – 0:50:37] Adam: Not again.
[0:50:37 – 0:50:37] Adam: Don’t eat that.
[0:50:38 – 0:50:39] Adam: What are you doing?
[0:50:39 – 0:50:41] Adam: As long as people don’t vote for the commemorganser, we’re all fine.
[0:50:42 – 0:50:42] Adam: We’re all going to be fine.
[0:50:43 – 0:50:44] Adam: Well, it’s too late.
[0:50:44 – 0:50:44] Adam: They already voted.
[0:50:45 – 0:50:46] Adam: Yeah, they have already voted.
[0:50:46 – 0:50:49] Adam: We’ll find out in about 32 minutes if we’re doomed or if we’re saved.
[0:50:50 – 0:50:51] Erik: Well, we are all doomed.
[0:50:51 – 0:50:52] Erik: We know that.
[0:50:54 – 0:50:54] Adam: I don’t know, man.
[0:50:54 – 0:50:59] Adam: I’m drinking carrot chunks out of a large beer, so I’m feeling a little bit saved right now, Jim.
[0:51:00 – 0:51:02] Erik: You had a lot of it stuck in your mustache for a second there.
[0:51:02 – 0:51:03] Erik: I know.
[0:51:03 – 0:51:06] Erik: And it took you much longer than I was comfortable with for you to get it out.
[0:51:08 – 0:51:11] Adam: I didn’t expect you to wipe it out of the mustache like that.
[0:51:12 – 0:51:13] Adam: I couldn’t wait any longer.
[0:51:13 – 0:51:15] Adam: Yeah, you got out the little tiny comb broom combo.
[0:51:16 – 0:51:22] Erik: I got out the ceremonial bandana and dabbed it off.
[0:51:22 – 0:51:25] Adam: It was for the best, though, because otherwise my blazer was endangered.
[0:51:26 – 0:51:26] Adam: It was.
[0:51:26 – 0:51:27] Adam: Yeah, and we can’t have it.
[0:51:27 – 0:51:30] Adam: That’s camel wool right there.
[0:51:30 – 0:51:36] Erik: Immediate termination if you drip carrot puree onto your TSN badge.
[0:51:36 – 0:51:46] Adam: Yeah, you’re going to get kicked right out of Tomahawk Sports Network like Charles Barkley did last year when he made that unfortunate Shrek joke about Shaquille O’Neal live on air.
[0:51:47 – 0:51:47] Adam: So unfortunate.
[0:51:47 – 0:51:48] Adam: It’s ridiculous.
[0:51:49 – 0:51:50] Adam: We don’t want to have that happen again.
[0:51:50 – 0:51:52] Adam: That would be horrible.
[0:51:53 – 0:51:53] Erik: Well, we’re pushing an hour.
[0:51:53 – 0:51:54] Erik: We’re getting into results.
[0:51:54 – 0:51:56] Erik: All right, we might get to them.
[0:51:56 – 0:51:57] Erik: You’ve all been waiting.
[0:51:57 – 0:51:58] Erik: That would be – we should just –
[0:52:01 – 0:52:03] Adam: It would be funnier if we never got to them at this point.
[0:52:03 – 0:52:07] Erik: Maybe we could talk for another 10 minutes and just bag it.
[0:52:08 – 0:52:14] Adam: We got to get out of here and watch the rest of the Wild game, and then we’re going to watch a couple episodes of Euphoria later.
[0:52:14 – 0:52:16] Adam: So we actually don’t have time to get to the results tonight.
[0:52:16 – 0:52:17] Adam: Sorry about that, guys.
[0:52:18 – 0:52:19] Adam: Maybe next week.
[0:52:19 – 0:52:23] Erik: If this game was a little closer, I would honestly, I wouldn’t be opposed.
[0:52:24 – 0:52:27] Erik: But as of right now, I feel like the Wild have got this one sewn up.
[0:52:28 – 0:52:28] Erik: You never know.
[0:52:29 – 0:52:30] Erik: NHL is crazy.
[0:52:30 – 0:52:35] Erik: This episode could be turned off at any point in time if things get a little closer.
[0:52:35 – 0:52:36] Adam: Yeah, we can always pause it.
[0:52:36 – 0:52:37] Adam: That was always allowed.
[0:52:37 – 0:52:39] Erik: But for now, you’ll never know.
[0:52:40 – 0:52:43] Adam: We’re launching our boats onto beautiful Birch Lake.
[0:52:44 – 0:52:46] Erik: Ah, pristine forever.
[0:52:46 – 0:52:56] Adam: Where we will be finding out the fates of the common loon, the red-eyed vireo, RC Kinglet, and the great blue heron.
[0:52:56 – 0:52:57] Erik: Well, here we go.
[0:52:58 – 0:52:59] Erik: One versus an eight matchup.
[0:52:59 – 0:53:01] Erik: Common Loon versus Red-Eyed Vireo.
[0:53:01 – 0:53:08] Erik: And it seems like we are continuing on in an inevitable march of a previous champion.
[0:53:08 – 0:53:09] Erik: Continuing on.
[0:53:10 – 0:53:11] Erik: Common Loon, 72-12.
[0:53:11 – 0:53:13] Erik: 72-12.
[0:53:13 – 0:53:16] Adam: The Red-Eyed Vireo is pesky.
[0:53:17 – 0:53:18] Adam: A little pesky, but no match at all.
[0:53:19 – 0:53:21] Adam: Have you seen our Loon yet this spring there, Jim?
[0:53:22 – 0:53:23] Erik: Not seen, but heard.
[0:53:23 – 0:53:24] Adam: You did hear one?
[0:53:24 – 0:53:25] Erik: Yes.
[0:53:25 – 0:53:25] Erik: Oh.
[0:53:25 – 0:53:26] Adam: In town.
[0:53:27 – 0:53:27] Adam: Really?
[0:53:27 – 0:53:34] Adam: Yeah, I’m pretty sure I saw one over by Five Mile Rock driving the other day, but it was like, I didn’t stop and I didn’t have the scope on it.
[0:53:34 – 0:53:36] Erik: I think it sounded like a flyer.
[0:53:37 – 0:53:41] Adam: Oh, yeah, they do have a nice ring to them when they’re up in the air.
[0:53:41 – 0:53:44] Adam: Skybird versus Seabird.
[0:53:44 – 0:53:47] Erik: It wasn’t the playful on-the-water splashing.
[0:53:48 – 0:53:48] Adam: It was the sonar.
[0:53:49 – 0:53:50] Adam: They’re just pinging.
[0:53:51 – 0:53:55] Erik: We didn’t really speak about this last week or even this week at all.
[0:53:55 – 0:53:57] Erik: This is the Battle of the Red Eyes.
[0:53:57 – 0:53:59] Adam: It was the Battle of the Red Eyes.
[0:53:59 – 0:54:00] Adam: My God.
[0:54:00 – 0:54:02] Adam: Red Eyes on Birch Lake.
[0:54:02 – 0:54:04] Erik: I don’t know if there’s any other.
[0:54:04 – 0:54:05] Erik: The devils and the birds.
[0:54:06 – 0:54:13] Erik: What is the point of the land, the little land flying mouse in the red-eyed Vireo having a red eye?
[0:54:13 – 0:54:18] Erik: I know the red eye is useful for the loon as hunting underwater.
[0:54:18 – 0:54:21] Adam: Oh, I thought it was so they could see in heat like the predator.
[0:54:22 – 0:54:23] Erik: Oh, yeah, it’s just an infrared vision.
[0:54:23 – 0:54:25] Adam: Yeah, it’s infrared.
[0:54:27 – 0:54:28] Adam: That’s where the lasers come from.
[0:54:28 – 0:54:29] Erik: Yeah, of course.
[0:54:29 – 0:54:31] Adam: Everybody knows that’s why they got the red eyes.
[0:54:32 – 0:54:35] Adam: They can see in heat vision and also shoot lasers.
[0:54:35 – 0:54:43] Adam: So apparently the Vireo only got a couple laser blasts off before they were roundly defeated.
[0:54:43 – 0:55:13] Adam: up there in birch lake and uh tim walls had to look away at one point it was roundly roundly defeated in the last two rounds the common loons have only given up 21 votes that’s the thing uh jim everybody knows they can sing they’re beautiful but man they play a stifling defense they’re all over the place they can swim they can fly they’re uh you know versatile that’s called being versatile and it’s just tough it’s just tough on their opponents
[0:55:14 – 0:55:16] Adam: But they also can shoot the lights out.
[0:55:16 – 0:55:16] Erik: They can.
[0:55:17 – 0:55:22] Erik: Moving down into your potential upset of the week.
[0:55:22 – 0:55:24] Adam: Yeah, we’re going for that upset of the week right away.
[0:55:24 – 0:55:25] Erik: Ruby.
[0:55:25 – 0:55:25] Erik: Ruby.
[0:55:26 – 0:55:26] Adam: Crested?
[0:55:27 – 0:55:27] Adam: Crowned?
[0:55:27 – 0:55:29] Adam: Ruby Crowned Kinglet.
[0:55:29 – 0:55:30] Erik: Crowned Kinglets.
[0:55:30 – 0:55:31] Adam: RC Kinglets.
[0:55:31 – 0:55:43] Adam: And they came out, I was surprised because it was pretty chilly out there today, but they did come out in the shortest Daisy Dukes cutoff jean shorts I’ve ever seen a team play in.
[0:55:43 – 0:55:45] Erik: Well, little leg never hurt anybody.
[0:55:45 – 0:55:51] Adam: I think they maybe borrowed them from the Redneck Grebes who were playing over in American points.
[0:55:51 – 0:55:52] Adam: I don’t know how they pulled that off.
[0:55:52 – 0:55:53] Erik: Yeah.
[0:55:53 – 0:55:54] Erik: I don’t know how they pulled that off either.
[0:55:54 – 0:55:55] Erik: Let’s see what happens here.
[0:55:55 – 0:55:56] Erik: Whew.
[0:55:57 – 0:55:58] Erik: It is not an upset.
[0:55:58 – 0:55:59] Erik: It is very close, though.
[0:56:00 – 0:56:02] Adam: It was such a good game, though.
[0:56:02 – 0:56:03] Erik: 44-40.
[0:56:03 – 0:56:05] Erik: Great Blue Herons move on.
[0:56:05 – 0:56:10] Adam: It may not have been the upset of the week, but it may have been the game of the week.
[0:56:10 – 0:56:11] Erik: Game of the week potential.
[0:56:12 – 0:56:12] Erik: Star that.
[0:56:13 – 0:56:15] Adam: Game of the week, GOTW.
[0:56:15 – 0:56:17] Adam: Game of the week, baby.
[0:56:17 – 0:56:18] Adam: The GB Herons are through.
[0:56:19 – 0:56:24] Adam: They’re big, and they’re nasty, and they also play a very good defense.
[0:56:24 – 0:56:27] Adam: We’re setting up for an insane matchup here in the Sweet 16.
[0:56:28 – 0:56:34] Adam: Maybe two of the best defenses in the whole tournament here matching up with the great Blue Herons against the Common Loon here.
[0:56:34 – 0:56:36] Adam: Watch the Birch Lake finale.
[0:56:36 – 0:56:38] Erik: Watch your soft parts with these two.
[0:56:38 – 0:56:41] Erik: They will peck directly at them if you allow them to.
[0:56:42 – 0:56:43] Adam: They will, yeah.
[0:56:44 – 0:56:47] Adam: The herons have beat up now on the juncos and the kinglets.
[0:56:47 – 0:56:48] Adam: A couple of tiny birds here.
[0:56:48 – 0:56:51] Adam: It’ll be interesting to see what happens.
[0:56:51 – 0:56:53] Adam: Oh, my God, they’re eating bluegills in celebration.
[0:56:53 – 0:56:54] Erik: Is that a green-eared sunfish?
[0:56:54 – 0:56:59] Adam: They’re eating green-eared sunfish in celebration right now, and they’re not holding back at all.
[0:57:00 – 0:57:05] Adam: They are pureeing those green-eared sunfish and putting them into cans, it looks like.
[0:57:05 – 0:57:07] Adam: This is obscene.
[0:57:07 – 0:57:08] Erik: This thing got a rat tail?
[0:57:08 – 0:57:10] Erik: What is that?
[0:57:10 – 0:57:12] Adam: A little back tassel?
[0:57:12 – 0:57:20] Adam: He’s wearing a little back tassel, and it looked like they were all wearing Zuba’s pants on the Great Blue Herons.
[0:57:21 – 0:57:23] Erik: I’m fully on board for Great Blue Heron.
[0:57:23 – 0:57:23] Adam: I don’t know.
[0:57:23 – 0:57:27] Adam: It’ll be interesting to see what happens when they actually go up against somebody their own size.
[0:57:28 – 0:57:31] Adam: So this is going to be a real powerhouse matchup.
[0:57:31 – 0:57:37] Adam: And what I guess the rankings had reflected what we were all expecting for the finale here in Birch Lake next week.
[0:57:38 – 0:57:40] Adam: But it’s been a real show.
[0:57:40 – 0:57:41] Adam: Uh, what a game though.
[0:57:42 – 0:57:45] Adam: RC Kinglets, they, they were really shooting the lights out from deep.
[0:57:46 – 0:57:48] Adam: They just couldn’t compete in the paint at all.
[0:57:48 – 0:57:51] Adam: And, uh, their little boat got capsized at one point.
[0:57:52 – 0:58:16] Adam: speed was to their advantage for only so it took them as far as it could possibly take them they were bobbing they were darting they were anything i’m not mad i’m proud uh rc kinglet’s one of my favorite teams and i’m i’m proud to have picked them as the upset um pick i’m and i’m glad to trade that in for the game of the week potential here because this one 44 to 40 in birch lake wow
[0:58:17 – 0:58:19] Erik: It’s going to be a showdown of clacking beaks.
[0:58:20 – 0:58:22] Erik: Nobody’s going to be able to hear what’s going on.
[0:58:23 – 0:58:24] Erik: Nope.
[0:58:24 – 0:58:26] Erik: I’ll continue down into American Point.
[0:58:27 – 0:58:34] Adam: We’re here in the flyway, and the Redneck Grebes have traded in their Daisy Dukes for little bandanas once again.
[0:58:35 – 0:58:36] Adam: Little neckerchiefs?
[0:58:36 – 0:58:37] Adam: Yeah, they got them, and they’re looking really good.
[0:58:38 – 0:58:42] Erik: You have the Redneck Grebes going against the Perulas.
[0:58:42 – 0:58:45] Erik: I’d like to see a small bird or two get through here.
[0:58:45 – 0:58:49] Adam: I love the Perula, and I think they’re maybe one of the only warblers left, Jim.
[0:58:49 – 0:58:50] Erik: Everybody loves.
[0:58:50 – 0:58:53] Erik: Oh, the Perulas do get through.
[0:58:53 – 0:58:53] Erik: Yes.
[0:58:53 – 0:58:55] Erik: The three seed Northern Perula.
[0:58:55 – 0:58:58] Erik: Look at that lovely, lovely little baby.
[0:58:58 – 0:58:59] Adam: They were great.
[0:59:00 – 0:59:00] Erik: 44.
[0:59:01 – 0:59:03] Erik: They down the redneck grebes.
[0:59:03 – 0:59:04] Erik: 44 to 39.
[0:59:04 – 0:59:06] Adam: 44 to 39.
[0:59:06 – 0:59:11] Adam: So one person that voted in the previous matchup chose not to vote in this one.
[0:59:12 – 0:59:13] Adam: Interesting.
[0:59:13 – 0:59:16] Adam: I’m not going to vote for the Perula.
[0:59:17 – 0:59:17] Adam: Love it.
[0:59:18 – 0:59:21] Adam: They got the little trill call, unmistakable.
[0:59:21 – 0:59:23] Adam: Once you hear it, you will always hear it.
[0:59:24 – 0:59:29] Adam: And very beautiful little blue bird, and they’re in at American Point Flyway.
[0:59:30 – 0:59:34] Erik: Well, moving down to the last matchup that I will be announcing from American Point.
[0:59:34 – 0:59:43] Erik: Let’s see if chalk continues and all of the top seeds move on into the next round.
[0:59:43 – 0:59:53] Erik: The Sweet 16, the pileated woodpeckers going up against the GD American Bald Eagles.
[0:59:56 – 0:59:57] Erik: The bald eagles go down.
[0:59:58 – 1:00:06] Erik: Chalk has been drowned out in watery, red-headed rage.
[1:00:08 – 1:00:11] Erik: The pileated woodpeckers by two votes.
[1:00:11 – 1:00:11] Erik: 43 to 41.
[1:00:11 – 1:00:11] Erik: 43-41.
[1:00:11 – 1:00:12] Erik: Now this is maybe the game of the week.
[1:00:12 – 1:00:13] Erik: Wow.
[1:00:19 – 1:00:20] Adam: Game of the week potential.
[1:00:20 – 1:00:21] Adam: A lot of good ones going there.
[1:00:21 – 1:00:24] Erik: Going up against the Northern Perulas.
[1:00:24 – 1:00:25] Erik: Ooh, baby.
[1:00:25 – 1:00:26] Adam: I love this matchup.
[1:00:26 – 1:00:32] Adam: There’s been a lot of matchups this week where I didn’t vote for either of the teams that made it into the second round.
[1:00:32 – 1:00:45] Adam: I felt a little befuddled trying to vote my way through those, and I did not call the Pileated going through, but I did call the Perula, I think, so…
[1:00:45 – 1:00:49] Adam: I like both these teams a lot, and that one’s going to be very hard to vote on.
[1:00:49 – 1:00:53] Erik: Maybe a little bit of a lack of patriotism.
[1:00:53 – 1:00:56] Erik: A lack of patriotism going on in the community right now, but you never know.
[1:00:56 – 1:01:02] Adam: People aren’t feeling the patriotism like they did during the 1996 Olympics.
[1:01:02 – 1:01:08] Adam: It’s been all downhill since that guy bombed the concert in the Olympic Village.
[1:01:09 – 1:01:11] Erik: Well, I don’t know if he necessarily did do that.
[1:01:11 – 1:01:13] Erik: I feel like there was a whole movie about how he did do that.
[1:01:13 – 1:01:14] Erik: I think he was set up.
[1:01:14 – 1:01:15] SPEAKER_00: Wasn’t he set up?
[1:01:15 – 1:01:16] Adam: He was just trying to bird.
[1:01:16 – 1:01:18] Erik: I think his name was Richard Thrush.
[1:01:22 – 1:01:23] Adam: Oh, no.
[1:01:23 – 1:01:25] SPEAKER_00: Coincidence?
[1:01:26 – 1:01:27] Adam: That was a pretty good Thrush.
[1:01:27 – 1:01:28] Erik: Yeah.
[1:01:28 – 1:01:28] Adam: Richard Thrush.
[1:01:30 – 1:01:31] Adam: The Olympic bomber.
[1:01:31 – 1:01:32] Adam: We all know him.
[1:01:32 – 1:01:33] Adam: Yeah, we all know him.
[1:01:33 – 1:01:34] Adam: We all know him.
[1:01:34 – 1:01:34] Adam: Know him and love him.
[1:01:35 – 1:01:44] Adam: This is one of those matchups here in Remix, Jim, where I had no idea what to do, and I honestly can’t even remember what I did when I finally made my vote.
[1:01:44 – 1:01:45] Erik: Moving down to Remix.
[1:01:45 – 1:01:46] Erik: The Cinderella.
[1:01:46 – 1:01:49] Erik: The purist of Cinderella’s that everybody hates.
[1:01:49 – 1:01:51] Adam: The nightjar that survived.
[1:01:51 – 1:01:54] Erik: The nightjar that will not die.
[1:01:54 – 1:01:55] Adam: And they will not shut up.
[1:01:56 – 1:02:05] Adam: They are still calling right next to your hammock at 5.30 a.m. Somebody was trying to claim the Swan was more annoying because they will occasionally yell in the night.
[1:02:06 – 1:02:11] Adam: But the Woodcock, I’m sorry, the Whippoorwill just yells all night and never quits.
[1:02:12 – 1:02:15] Adam: And I cannot believe that it ever beat the Swainson’s Thrush.
[1:02:15 – 1:02:18] Adam: I think the problem was, Jim, that… Sweet summer child.
[1:02:18 – 1:02:20] Adam: We got that… Yeah, I know.
[1:02:21 – 1:02:21] Adam: I know.
[1:02:22 – 1:02:29] Adam: We got that wrist rocket last week, and I was trying to shoot down some float planes with it, and I may have hit the Swains’ thrush with my…
[1:02:30 – 1:02:31] Adam: It may have been a self-inflicted wound.
[1:02:32 – 1:02:36] Adam: because I was really trying to hit that de Havilland beaver.
[1:02:37 – 1:02:38] Erik: Accidentally hit the Artemis II.
[1:02:38 – 1:02:46] Adam: You know that you always have to be looking at know your target and beyond when you’re working a wrist rocket, so be careful out there.
[1:02:46 – 1:02:50] Erik: Yeah, Elon’s up there building a moon base, so you got to know your target and beyond.
[1:02:50 – 1:03:16] Adam: i didn’t know how to vote in this one it’s the 16 seed whipper will we’ve never had a 16 seed make it to the second round it is history in the making jim here on tumble home sports network going up against the nine seed wood duck which uh absolutely uh ransacked the poor brown creepers in round one and uh so i have no idea how this one’s going to work out but one of these teams is going to the finals in remex nobody’s ever nobody’s ever seen a wood duck
[1:03:17 – 1:03:17] Adam: Oh, my God.
[1:03:17 – 1:03:18] Adam: Somebody has.
[1:03:18 – 1:03:19] Adam: Look at that thing.
[1:03:19 – 1:03:31] Adam: It is a nice picture you got here, Jim, and the Wood Duck is through 50-32, and that is the end of the dream run for the old Whippoorwill, and now this tournament is officially nightjar free.
[1:03:33 – 1:03:37] Erik: Was the Wood Duck, is that on the three-cent stamp?
[1:03:39 – 1:03:41] Adam: Yeah, but people need those when postage goes up.
[1:03:42 – 1:03:45] Erik: See, Margie didn’t foresee the forever stamp, though.
[1:03:45 – 1:03:52] Erik: When they introduced the forever stamp, Margie just killed herself.
[1:03:52 – 1:03:54] Adam: She’s left her husband finally.
[1:03:54 – 1:03:54] Erik: Yeah.
[1:03:55 – 1:03:56] Erik: I’m out of here.
[1:03:56 – 1:03:58] Adam: Gotta eat an egg.
[1:03:58 – 1:04:01] Adam: You gotta eat an egg from a bird.
[1:04:01 – 1:04:03] Adam: He was trying to feed her bird eggs all the time.
[1:04:03 – 1:04:04] Erik: Yeah.
[1:04:05 – 1:04:30] Erik: she finally unbelievable finally ran off and made her made a back half of the life with uh jim another jim another jim what’s his last name met him at the hilton jim fuck uh fukunaji it’s not fukunaji fukujita this is pretty nice it’s reasonable is it reasonable
[1:04:31 – 1:04:42] Erik: I wonder, I’ve thought about that scene in context of other podcasts that have suggested this, but I’ve also honestly wondered about that Fargo scene.
[1:04:42 – 1:04:48] Erik: She suggests a Sheridan, a hotel adjacent to a restaurant.
[1:04:48 – 1:04:48] Erik: Yeah.
[1:04:49 – 1:04:56] SPEAKER_00: He’s probably kind of getting a little, you know, he’s probably at home preening, getting puffed up and fluffed up.
[1:04:56 – 1:04:58] Erik: Like, who invites somebody to a restaurant in a hotel?
[1:04:58 – 1:04:59] Erik: At your own hotel.
[1:04:59 – 1:05:05] Erik: And not expect to be like, all right, well, go upstairs afterwards, you know?
[1:05:06 – 1:05:07] Adam: Oh, going for the back rub after.
[1:05:08 – 1:05:09] Erik: A little bit of a back rub.
[1:05:09 – 1:05:10] Adam: Yeah.
[1:05:10 – 1:05:11] Adam: Maybe you look tense.
[1:05:12 – 1:05:12] Erik: Yeah.
[1:05:12 – 1:05:13] Adam: Margie.
[1:05:13 – 1:05:14] Erik: Margie.
[1:05:14 – 1:05:15] Adam: All them police working.
[1:05:16 – 1:05:17] Adam: But it wasn’t.
[1:05:18 – 1:05:23] Adam: She was always faithful to her husband who did the watercolors of the wood duck.
[1:05:23 – 1:05:23] Adam: Yeah.
[1:05:23 – 1:05:31] Adam: And the nine seed is through, beats the pants off the whippoorwill, and turns out they forgot to pack their pants.
[1:05:31 – 1:05:31] Adam: Yeah, pretty much.
[1:05:31 – 1:05:33] Adam: So that one was over before it began.
[1:05:33 – 1:05:36] Adam: They lost them somehow in between rounds one and two.
[1:05:38 – 1:05:44] Adam: Nobody knows what happens, but what happens in Remix is broadcast to the world on Tumholm Sports Network.
[1:05:44 – 1:05:45] Adam: That’s what they always say.
[1:05:46 – 1:05:47] Erik: Never stays in Remix.
[1:05:48 – 1:05:50] Erik: The Wood Duck is the champion of the stamp.
[1:05:50 – 1:05:53] Adam: Yeah, stamp champ.
[1:05:53 – 1:05:55] Erik: It’s like basically how the U.S.
[1:05:55 – 1:05:59] Erik: Postal Service makes money is by putting ducks on stamps.
[1:05:59 – 1:06:05] Adam: Yeah, you know how I feel alive these days, Jim, is I actually puree stamps up and I consume them in my beverage.
[1:06:06 – 1:06:09] Erik: Oh, yeah, just a little viscosity in there.
[1:06:09 – 1:06:10] Adam: Yeah, because, you know.
[1:06:10 – 1:06:11] Adam: Do they even make stamps?
[1:06:11 – 1:06:16] Adam: In this economy, I can’t be drinking cash anymore, but you can drink stamps.
[1:06:16 – 1:06:17] Erik: Oh, you used to grind up cash?
[1:06:18 – 1:06:19] Adam: I used to, but not anymore, you know.
[1:06:20 – 1:06:20] Adam: Yeah.
[1:06:20 – 1:06:22] Adam: Got to tighten up the budget, you know.
[1:06:22 – 1:06:24] Adam: But stamps, nobody needs them anymore.
[1:06:24 – 1:06:27] Adam: I got a whole pile of three-cent stamps worthless.
[1:06:28 – 1:06:31] Adam: But it does taste expensive.
[1:06:31 – 1:06:34] Erik: Do they even make lickable stamps anymore?
[1:06:36 – 1:06:36] Adam: No.
[1:06:36 – 1:06:37] Erik: I don’t think so.
[1:06:37 – 1:06:39] Adam: You’re not even allowed to lick stamps anymore?
[1:06:39 – 1:06:40] Erik: Pretty stuck.
[1:06:40 – 1:06:41] Adam: Yeah.
[1:06:41 – 1:06:46] Adam: I want to lick the wood duck stamp and put it on my postcard, send it to somebody I love.
[1:06:46 – 1:06:47] Erik: Just grinding up.
[1:06:47 – 1:06:48] Erik: For Mother’s Day.
[1:06:48 – 1:06:57] Erik: Dollar bills from the 80s and 90s in the hopes that there is still some kind of a residual drug residue on it.
[1:06:57 – 1:06:58] Adam: Is that what they’re doing?
[1:06:58 – 1:06:59] Erik: I think that’s what the kids are doing these days.
[1:06:59 – 1:07:06] Adam: Well, I’ve officially finished a 9% carrot cake ale, and we’re not even through half the tournament yet.
[1:07:07 – 1:07:07] UNKNOWN: Hmm.
[1:07:08 – 1:07:10] Adam: Holy smokes, hot dog.
[1:07:10 – 1:07:13] Adam: We’re moving on to our other matchup in Remex.
[1:07:13 – 1:07:17] Adam: It features, I think, the community’s darling, the Timberdoodle.
[1:07:18 – 1:07:18] Erik: That’s right.
[1:07:18 – 1:07:20] Adam: The most memed bird in the tournament.
[1:07:20 – 1:07:24] Adam: It’s the five seed, the Woodcock, which was a lock of the week last week.
[1:07:25 – 1:07:31] Adam: But as you know on the lock rules, you’re not allowed to lock the same bird twice in the same tournament.
[1:07:32 – 1:07:32] Erik: What?
[1:07:32 – 1:07:33] Erik: I didn’t know that.
[1:07:33 – 1:07:34] Erik: This changes everything.
[1:07:34 – 1:07:35] Adam: You’re not allowed to.
[1:07:35 – 1:07:39] Adam: What are you going to just make your lock of the week the Woodcock every week?
[1:07:40 – 1:07:41] Adam: Doesn’t seem very sporting.
[1:07:42 – 1:07:43] Adam: Maybe it’s not a rule, but it’s more of an etiquette.
[1:07:44 – 1:07:45] Adam: And I’m not going to do it.
[1:07:45 – 1:07:46] Erik: How is that not sporting?
[1:07:47 – 1:07:49] Adam: Because it’s not exciting either.
[1:07:49 – 1:07:50] Adam: You can’t just keep picking the woodcock.
[1:07:50 – 1:07:53] Adam: But it was a previous lock of the week, and it did come through.
[1:07:56 – 1:08:02] Adam: Took out the turkey vulture 77 to 20 to get here, and then we had, of course, the great horned owl.
[1:08:02 – 1:08:04] Adam: That’s a tough matchup, though.
[1:08:04 – 1:08:06] Adam: 86 to 12 over the lowly Sora.
[1:08:07 – 1:08:10] Erik: I don’t know if I could do wood versus wood.
[1:08:11 – 1:08:13] Adam: Yeah, we do have the potential.
[1:08:13 – 1:08:17] Adam: We had the red beady-eyed matchup earlier tonight.
[1:08:18 – 1:08:24] Adam: If this goes the way I think it’s going to go, we could have the Woodcock versus Woodduck matchup.
[1:08:24 – 1:08:25] Adam: Wood on wood.
[1:08:25 – 1:08:27] Erik: Woodduck also has a very red eye.
[1:08:27 – 1:08:28] Adam: It does.
[1:08:28 – 1:08:31] Adam: It sort of does have almost like a carrot cake eye.
[1:08:31 – 1:08:32] Adam: No.
[1:08:32 – 1:08:34] Adam: Look at that little beak.
[1:08:34 – 1:08:35] Adam: Chunks floating around in there.
[1:08:35 – 1:08:37] Erik: He’s got little chunks floating around in the retina, Jim.
[1:08:38 – 1:08:42] Erik: He’s foaming at the eye.
[1:08:42 – 1:08:46] Adam: It looks like he’s full of sugar and good times.
[1:08:47 – 1:08:50] Adam: All right, we’re going to scroll, and we’re going to announce this one here in Remix.
[1:08:51 – 1:08:56] Erik: And the great horned owl is through, Jim.
[1:08:56 – 1:08:56] Adam: What?
[1:08:56 – 1:09:13] Adam: cocks are gone woodcocks the timber doodles got sunk by the big owls these big birds are tough in the second round we got her at 46 to 38 it was close but it wasn’t that close 48 46 to 38 let’s try and draw that 38 again the great horned owl is through
[1:09:17 – 1:09:23] Adam: Into the Sweet 16 against the Wood Duck here in Remix, friends.
[1:09:24 – 1:09:26] Adam: Red eyes versus yellow eyes.
[1:09:27 – 1:09:27] Adam: There we go.
[1:09:28 – 1:09:28] Adam: Big eyes.
[1:09:28 – 1:09:31] Adam: A lot of big birds, Jim.
[1:09:31 – 1:09:33] Adam: They got big eyes.
[1:09:33 – 1:09:33] Adam: Big eyes.
[1:09:34 – 1:09:36] Adam: That’s what my grandpa always said.
[1:09:37 – 1:09:38] Adam: Walter Davenport.
[1:09:38 – 1:09:39] Erik: Of course.
[1:09:41 – 1:09:46] Adam: Got ourselves a real doozy here in North Fowl Lake.
[1:09:46 – 1:09:49] Adam: It’s the Merlins versus the Trumpeter Swans.
[1:09:49 – 1:09:51] Erik: Trumpeter Swans.
[1:09:51 – 1:09:52] Adam: We got another candidate.
[1:09:53 – 1:09:55] Adam: Oh, my God, for the game of the week.
[1:09:55 – 1:10:00] Adam: It’s another two-vote victory for the six-seed Merlins are through.
[1:10:00 – 1:10:01] Adam: Upset city.
[1:10:02 – 1:10:04] Adam: Wow, we got them.
[1:10:04 – 1:10:09] Adam: The Trumpeter Swans, they woke somebody up in the middle of the night and pissed off the wrong hammock camper.
[1:10:10 – 1:10:13] Adam: 42-40 for the Merlin.
[1:10:13 – 1:10:14] Adam: They are through.
[1:10:14 – 1:10:17] Adam: Wow, a lot of close ones this week.
[1:10:17 – 1:10:20] Adam: I guess the committee did okay.
[1:10:20 – 1:10:22] Adam: 42-40.
[1:10:23 – 1:10:29] Adam: And Jim is going to throw some more wood on the stove because it is a chilly one here in Studio V.
[1:10:30 – 1:10:31] Adam: The Merlins are through.
[1:10:32 – 1:10:36] Adam: They took out the American Bittern famously in round one, 70-28.
[1:10:36 – 1:10:44] Adam: The Trumpeter Swans absolutely shit-smoked the American Robin, 78-20 in round one.
[1:10:45 – 1:10:46] Adam: Man, that was close.
[1:10:46 – 1:10:46] Adam: Another one.
[1:10:47 – 1:10:47] Adam: We’ve had…
[1:10:49 – 1:10:55] Adam: We’ve had two two-point victories and one four-point victory so far just on the west side of the bracket.
[1:10:55 – 1:11:02] Erik: Might be the closest second round of any tumble tourney in any iteration to this date.
[1:11:02 – 1:11:03] Adam: I’m dabbing my brow.
[1:11:03 – 1:11:04] Adam: I’m dabbing my brow.
[1:11:05 – 1:11:07] Adam: I’m breathing a little bit heavy.
[1:11:08 – 1:11:14] Adam: Final matchup here in North Fowl Lake with no help at all from South Fowl Lake or the Goose Rock.
[1:11:15 – 1:11:18] Adam: We got the number two seed, Bard Owl.
[1:11:18 – 1:11:21] Adam: Bard Owl, of course, was the Owl Conference champions.
[1:11:22 – 1:11:32] Adam: The Great Orange Owl, which is through, was not happy about that and would love anything more to see like an Owl and Owl finale over here on the Southwest Bracket.
[1:11:33 – 1:11:40] Adam: Going up against the beloved Ruffed Grouse, the seven seed, the only grouse to make it in, obviously.
[1:11:40 – 1:11:44] Adam: And I’ve been seeing a lot of grouse this week, and they are looking really good.
[1:11:44 – 1:11:48] Adam: I almost smoked one with the Tundra on the drive over here.
[1:11:48 – 1:11:52] Erik: Well, there’s a reason that the name of their last album is Getting Killed.
[1:11:52 – 1:11:58] Adam: It is Getting Killed by the Ruffed Grouse, but they have strength in numbers.
[1:11:58 – 1:11:59] Erik: Getting Killed is what we do best.
[1:12:02 – 1:12:04] Adam: And the Rough Grouse is through.
[1:12:04 – 1:12:05] Adam: They’re not getting killed tonight.
[1:12:05 – 1:12:06] Adam: It’s a tie.
[1:12:06 – 1:12:06] Adam: Wow.
[1:12:07 – 1:12:07] Adam: How did they through?
[1:12:07 – 1:12:09] Adam: So the tie goes to the seven seed?
[1:12:10 – 1:12:12] Adam: I’ve never seen a tie before.
[1:12:12 – 1:12:15] Adam: It’s the new game of the week, and that is official.
[1:12:15 – 1:12:17] Adam: We won’t see another tie tonight.
[1:12:17 – 1:12:18] Adam: This is the official game of the week.
[1:12:19 – 1:12:29] Adam: We had 42 to 42 against the Bardol, and I didn’t know what the tiebreaker rules were, but it looks like it’s going to the lower seed, which I guess makes sense.
[1:12:29 – 1:12:31] Erik: I thought it was alphabetical, honestly.
[1:12:31 – 1:12:34] Erik: I think we’ve had one tie in the past.
[1:12:35 – 1:12:42] Erik: There’s no settings when this gets put together by the committee to determine what happens in the event of a tie.
[1:12:43 – 1:12:46] Erik: This will go down in Tumble Tournament lore.
[1:12:46 – 1:12:47] Erik: Oh, my gosh.
[1:12:47 – 1:12:50] Erik: The Barred Owls will be fighting this for…
[1:12:52 – 1:12:54] Adam: They’re trying to get him to stop the steal right now.
[1:12:54 – 1:12:55] Erik: Yeah.
[1:12:55 – 1:13:06] Adam: They’re calling their friends in the attorney general’s office in the absolute shithole state of Tennessee to try and get this one overturned, but it ain’t going to matter because this tournament doesn’t occur in the state of Tennessee.
[1:13:06 – 1:13:07] Adam: And Tim Grouse.
[1:13:07 – 1:13:08] Adam: Tim Grouse.
[1:13:09 – 1:13:10] Erik: Our new governor, Tim Grouse.
[1:13:11 – 1:13:12] Erik: Tim Grouse.
[1:13:13 – 1:13:20] Adam: He said that the Bardolls are a bunch of weirdos and that the results will stand.
[1:13:20 – 1:13:21] Adam: So there you go.
[1:13:21 – 1:13:22] Adam: There you have it.
[1:13:22 – 1:13:23] Adam: Put that one on the stamp.
[1:13:23 – 1:13:24] Erik: I cannot believe it.
[1:13:24 – 1:13:30] Adam: This has been an insane batch of results here in the second round.
[1:13:30 – 1:13:30] Erik: 42 to 42.
[1:13:32 – 1:13:35] Erik: We had a 42-42.
[1:13:35 – 1:13:35] Erik: 46-38.
[1:13:36 – 1:13:41] Adam: In the North Fowl Lake quadrant, there was two vote difference between the two matchups.
[1:13:41 – 1:13:41] Adam: Yeah.
[1:13:42 – 1:13:43] Adam: The winners both had 42.
[1:13:45 – 1:13:46] Adam: I like that, though, too.
[1:13:46 – 1:13:49] Adam: It was 42-40 and then 42-42.
[1:13:49 – 1:13:53] Adam: Two people were like, I’m not voting for the Swans, but I will vote for the Owl.
[1:13:54 – 1:13:55] Erik: I’m done.
[1:13:55 – 1:13:58] Erik: I’ve gotten to the end of this voting thing.
[1:13:59 – 1:13:59] Erik: I’ve had enough.
[1:13:59 – 1:14:05] Erik: I guess I have to go and get to my meeting or whatever the hell I’m doing.
[1:14:05 – 1:14:07] Adam: Boss caught me voting in the Birdment.
[1:14:07 – 1:14:09] Adam: I got to quick shut down the browser.
[1:14:10 – 1:14:11] Adam: That’s what happened.
[1:14:11 – 1:14:35] Adam: yeah absolutely vote from you know home from work uh to hell with working from home uh you got a home from work jim make sure you’re voting in the birdament while you’re on the clock great hard owls 46 to 38 over the woodcocks wood ducks 50 to 32 really there was only one blowout in here and it was the common loon over their red-eyed tiny boys the virios yeah
[1:14:35 – 1:14:37] Adam: Otherwise, it was close across the board here.
[1:14:37 – 1:14:39] Adam: We’re talking every vote counts.
[1:14:40 – 1:14:41] Erik: Every vote counts.
[1:14:41 – 1:14:45] Adam: Every day is precious and life is a miracle here in the Birdament.
[1:14:45 – 1:14:48] Erik: Don’t stop after the first round, people.
[1:14:48 – 1:14:53] Erik: The Great Horned Owls sure would have loved an extra little vote.
[1:14:56 – 1:14:58] Adam: All right, we got a couple locks of the week coming up here.
[1:14:58 – 1:14:59] Adam: Yeah, we’re getting real.
[1:15:00 – 1:15:00] Adam: This is going to be big.
[1:15:01 – 1:15:06] Adam: In the northeast quadrant here of the Birdament here in second round coverage on the east side.
[1:15:06 – 1:15:12] Adam: And then, yeah, we got a lot of amazing matchups here.
[1:15:12 – 1:15:13] Adam: We’re halfway through.
[1:15:14 – 1:15:18] Adam: The beer is definitely flowing, and it’s still chunky.
[1:15:20 – 1:15:21] Adam: Don’t worry, though.
[1:15:21 – 1:15:22] Adam: It’s still going down the hatch.
[1:15:22 – 1:15:25] Erik: I wouldn’t say it’s flowing.
[1:15:25 – 1:15:27] Erik: It’s like it’s gurgling.
[1:15:27 – 1:15:33] Adam: Can I get a sip of that peanut butter just to balance out the amount of carrot cake I’m going into here?
[1:15:33 – 1:15:35] Adam: You can have this whole one here.
[1:15:35 – 1:15:38] Erik: I got a whole double-stoofed peanut butter.
[1:15:39 – 1:15:40] Erik: Double.
[1:15:41 – 1:15:41] Erik: Double.
[1:15:42 – 1:15:43] Adam: It’s my double stooft.
[1:15:43 – 1:15:47] Adam: Look at this crazy little jack-o’-lantern boy.
[1:15:47 – 1:15:48] Erik: I do love the creepy jack-o’-lantern.
[1:15:48 – 1:15:50] Adam: Thank you, Kate and Ann, for the creepy jack-o’-lantern boy.
[1:15:51 – 1:15:53] Erik: Moving over to the Sax-Sim bog.
[1:15:53 – 1:15:55] Adam: Yeah, we need one of these before we get to the bog.
[1:15:56 – 1:15:57] Adam: This is a bog boy.
[1:15:57 – 1:16:00] Adam: That’s what you need before you’re going into the bog for birds.
[1:16:00 – 1:16:05] Erik: Dunking into pure ice cold milk.
[1:16:07 – 1:16:09] Adam: This bog, it’s filled with milk.
[1:16:10 – 1:16:11] Adam: A milky bog.
[1:16:12 – 1:16:13] Adam: That’s what Zach Sim means.
[1:16:14 – 1:16:14] Adam: Bog.
[1:16:15 – 1:16:16] Adam: Yeah, in French.
[1:16:17 – 1:16:19] Adam: That means milk-filled bog.
[1:16:21 – 1:16:22] Erik: Was this my upset?
[1:16:23 – 1:16:24] Adam: This is my mind.
[1:16:24 – 1:16:26] Adam: Oh, this is your upset of the week, too.
[1:16:26 – 1:16:27] Adam: The Blue Jay over the Mallard.
[1:16:28 – 1:16:29] Adam: Let’s see if he’s got it.
[1:16:30 – 1:16:34] Erik: Oh, it did not come to fruition.
[1:16:35 – 1:16:42] Erik: I think there is a potential for the Mallards to not go super far in this tournament, but they have moved on another round.
[1:16:43 – 1:16:46] Adam: Coach Gordy has got the wise sombrero on.
[1:16:46 – 1:16:48] Adam: He’s eating cotija.
[1:16:49 – 1:16:52] Adam: He ain’t messing with the shreds, their coach.
[1:16:52 – 1:16:53] Adam: Don’t mess with the shreds.
[1:16:54 – 1:16:55] Adam: You don’t need to win big.
[1:16:55 – 1:16:56] Adam: You just need to win.
[1:16:56 – 1:16:59] Erik: 49-39 over the Blue Jays.
[1:16:59 – 1:17:01] Adam: 49-39 is an impressive win tonight.
[1:17:01 – 1:17:02] Adam: Yeah.
[1:17:02 – 1:17:03] Adam: Ten points.
[1:17:03 – 1:17:03] Adam: Yeah.
[1:17:04 – 1:17:05] Adam: Absolutely just breezy.
[1:17:06 – 1:17:06] Adam: Easy.
[1:17:07 – 1:17:12] Adam: Strutting your stuff and swimming around the pond with your little sombrero out there on Lake 3.
[1:17:12 – 1:17:13] Adam: Mallards are through.
